In 2023, Mel lost her dad suddenly to cancer, an experience that shook her entire world and set her on a path of radical change. From leaving her high-profile job to rethinking what truly matters, Mel opens up about the messy, nonlinear journey of loss. We talk about how grief changes your relationships, your priorities, and even the way you see yourself, and why sometimes the greatest growth comes from the most heartbreaking seasons.Up Past Bedtime with Bella Messina is your go-to for late-night, unfiltered chats—the kind of conversations you’d have with your closest girlfriends. Marcia is one of the OG mummy bloggers turned businesswoman, writer, and single mama of two. Over the past few years, she’s walked through her own marriage breakdown and come out the other side with so much wisdom and grace. We talk about the identity shift that comes with becoming a single mum, the grief and guilt of letting go of a family unit, and the unexpected beauty that comes with building a new version of your life. Marcia shares what those early days of separation really felt like, how she’s rebuilt her life piece by piece, and the role vulnerability and community have played in her healing. As someone who’s still in the thick of it, this conversation felt like sitting with a big sister who’s been through the fire and is now gently reminding me (and all of us) that it does get better.UPB is sending one lucky listener to a Motherhood Retreat, hosted by Marcia, at the end of August 2025. We get raw and real about what it’s like living with ADHD and ASD as adults, and how that impacts motherhood, identity, and everything in between.Emily opens up about her own diagnosis journey and what unmasking has looked like for her - the challenges, the grief, but also the clarity that comes with finally understanding yourself. We talk about the stigma that still exists around neurodivergence, the emotional and financial weight of seeking therapy and support, and the overwhelming pressure that so many of us feel to hold it all together. This episode is an honest look at the messy, beautiful, and often misunderstood experience of being neurodivergent (especially as women and mothers).Up Past Bedtime with Bella Messina is your go-to for late-night, unfiltered chats—the kind of conversations you’d have with your closest girlfriends. From those awkward convos in relationships to the raw realities of motherhood and how our bodies change after babies… nothing’s off the table.I open up about intimacy from a female perspective (not just the physical side of things, but the emotional too). We talk about navigating mismatched libidos, rediscovering desire, and feeling confident in our bodies again, even when they feel unfamiliar. I also touch on the mental load of motherhood, the realness of postnatal depression, and why communication in relationships and friendships is everything. This episode is for anyone who's ever felt alone in the chaos of raising little ones, who’s compared themselves to the "perfect" mum on Instagram, or who’s been scared to admit they’re overwhelmed. I talk about my experience with having two under two, the shifts in friendship after becoming a mum, and even how hard it can be when you and your partner don’t parent the same way.Ultimately, it’s a big warm permission slip to be vulnerable, to speak up, and to give yourself grace. In this episode of Up Past Bedtime, I’m giving you a bit of a life update because honestly, a lot has been going on behind the scenes.I open up about how co-parenting is going, including how we recently navigated Bennie’s birthday with a shared celebration and a joint party. It’s not always easy, but I’m really proud of the respectful relationship we’ve managed to build because at the end of the day, our girls come first.I also touch on the divorce process. While I can’t legally share much of the detail (which is frustrating), I do talk about how emotionally exhausting it’s been and how much empathy I have for anyone else walking this path. From there, I dive into something that’s been coming up more recently: the process of being diagnosed with PMDD. It’s been a lot to take in, especially while already navigating my ADHD and autism diagnoses. I talk about what PMDD looks like for me, how it overlaps with neurodivergence, and the mental load of feeling like there’s always something new to figure out about myself. This is definitely one of those chats where I’m still in the thick of it, but I’m trying to be honest about how I’m showing up, protecting my peace, and leaning into self-care where I can. If you’re going through your own hard season, I hope this episode makes you feel a little less alone.Up Past Bedtime with Bella Messina is your go-to for late-night, unfiltered chats—the kind of conversations you’d have with your closest girlfriends. I share my own experiences with friendship breakups, how painful they can be, and the emotional weight that comes with letting go.I talk about what it means to protect your peace, the power of being truly authentic in your relationships, and why having a few real, meaningful connections matters more than having a huge group of friends. If you’ve ever felt the sting of a friendship drifting or ending, this one’s for you. In this episode of Up Past Bedtime, I’m reflecting on everything my twenties have taught me as I get ready to turn 29 on June 2nd. It feels like the sun is starting to set on this chapter of my life, and I wanted to sit down and share 29 lessons from the past decade - the ones that broke me, the ones that helped me grow, and the ones I’ll carry with me into the next decade. I open up about personal growth, self-discovery, motherhood, and the power of setting boundaries. Most of all, I talk about learning to live in the moment, love myself fully, and show up as the most honest version of me.Up Past Bedtime with Bella Messina is your go-to for late-night, unfiltered chats—the kind of conversations you’d have with your closest girlfriends. In this episode of Up Past Bedtime, I sat down with the incredible Kira Rumble — a successful entrepreneur, mum, and the founder of one of my favourite businesses, Mini + Me. We had such a raw and honest conversation about what success really means, especially as women who are trying to do it all. Kira opened up about her journey through business and motherhood, sharing deeply personal experiences with infertility and hyperemesis gravidarum, and how those moments have shaped her definition of success today. We spoke about the reality of navigating motherhood while running multiple businesses, the mental load that comes with it, and how important it is to be vulnerable and open — because it’s in those moments we find real connection and community. We also touched on our own experiences with ADHD and ASD, the pressure women feel to "have it all," and how we’ve both learned to prioritise happiness and intuition over hustle culture. This episode is such a beautiful reminder that success doesn’t have to look one way — it can be soft, messy, meaningful, and entirely your own.Up Past Bedtime with Bella Messina is your go-to for late-night, unfiltered chats—the kind of conversations you’d have with your closest girlfriends. Welcome to the very first episode of Up Past Bedtime: After Dark — a new series where things get a little juicier, a little deeper, and definitely more unfiltered. Think of it like a late-night convo with your girlfriends once the kids are asleep and the wine is flowing. No topic is off limits here.To kick it off, I’m playing Truth or Drink, answering your spicy, personal questions — and yes, I went there. From my favourite sex position (yep, we said it) to whether I regret ending my marriage, nothing was off the table. If I didn’t want to answer... I had to drink. It’s raw, honest, a little wild, and exactly what After Dark is all about. Let’s stay up late together.
