Today's episode is a lovely chat with Rensha Dekker, wife to Jeremy and mother to their 3 young boys! She shared her delicious menu of BBQ Meatball and Pineapple Salsa Flatbreads and I loved her general Mediterranean vibe when it comes to food! We also waxed lyrical on the blessing of hospitality and life in community, and on the sanctifying nature of motherhood. It was such a joy to have her on! Well we finally got Tracey on the podcast after a failed recording attempt months ago! She's married to Clint vanderLaan and they have 3 children, a dog and 2 cats. She wears many hats: keeping a home, running a building company with her husband and working from home for a high performance sport program. I loved what she shares about her dinner-prep multitasking session, and her simple, make ahead recipes, though with the unique twist of making her own pasta fresh! Listen along for all that and more!... Well after a longer break than I intended, I finally managed to sit down with my Mum and get her amazing tips and recipes onto the air! She is married to my Dad (Paul) and they have 7 adult children (5 married and 2 at home) and 12 grandchildren. She loves gardening, farming, cooking from scratch and being an Oma :) She is an amazing cook and she can make practically anything to suit practically any diet! She has so many great recipes to share and loads of tips and tricks to go alongside. Listen along to hear about her amazing sourdough crackers (and many other sourdough recipes), ways to eat healthier, delicious snacks, unique desserts and so much more! That is all blended in with her wisdom from years of experience raising a large family, being in Christian community and serving others - she shares many nuggets of encouragement for younger mums. I'm so proud to call her my Mum!---Links:Website: foodfamilyfellowship.comMum's blog post: https://www.foodfamilyfellowship.com/post/episode-6-nourishing-food-accommodating-allergies-and-alllll-the-recipes-trudi-my-mumEmail updates sign up: https://foodfamilyfellowship.com/#email-updatesEmail me: danielle@foodfamilyfellowship.com
Alrighty guys! Thanks for your patience as I took a bit of a break while we moved house! We recorded this fun episode with Rita Pitlo before the move and got chatting about all the things! Rita is wife to Brendan (a teacher) and they have 6 kids ranging in age from 1 to 14. As you can imagine, she's pretty busy, but she allowed me to twist her arm into coming on the podcast. I'm so glad she did, because she had plenty of practical tips to share! I especially loved how she went into more detail on her washing system and the simple products she uses! I'm sure you'll also love her recipes, cleaning tips, and even some op shop recommendations near the end - stick around for that!---Links:Website:foodfamilyfellowship.comEmail updates sign up:https://foodfamilyfellowship.com/#email-updatesEmail me: danielle@foodfamilyfellowship.com
In this episode, I had so much fun chatting with Megan deBoer, a fellow member of my church and my personal egg supplier ;). She is married to Pete and they have 3 beautiful daughters. Megan shared so many helpful tips, from simplified meals and cleaning systems, to minimalism and organising how it works for you, and a unique washing system. She also was so gracious to share about her journey with infertility, stillbirth and miscarriage and the wisdom that God has taught her through all of it.---Links:Website: https://foodfamilyfellowship.comEmail updates sign up: https://foodfamilyfellowship.com/#email-updatesEmail me: danielle@foodfamilyfellowship.com
In this episode I had the pleasure of chatting with my cousin Felicity Hordyk! She is married to Hugo and has 3 kids between 7 and 2. She had a wonderfully real perspective on doing what works for you, adapting to changing seasons and balancing sustainability and presentation in hospitality. She shares a Japanese chicken curry recipe which sounds super delicious, along with a few soups and snack ideas which suit various allergies. ---Links:Website:foodfamilyfellowship.comEmail updates sign up:https://foodfamilyfellowship.com/#email-updatesEmail me: danielle@foodfamilyfellowship.com
In this episode I have lots of fun chatting with my long time best friend - Roxi deVos. She is married to her highschool sweetheart Josh and they have 2 little boys aged 4 and 2. They have a busy family life with Josh working full time while studying in his 'free time' and Rox share some tips for still squeezing in quality time as a family. She also shares tips for bulk cooking meals, a great website for gettingonly the recipe when browsing online, an honest perspective on hospitality and so many other tips!Unfortunately somehow I forgot to ask her about a baking recipe, even though before we recorded she'd said that she wanted to talk about vanilla slice!! Bummed to miss out on that, buuut... she has graciously shared the recipe with us on the website anyways! Head over there to find all the gems she shared! Welcome to the first interview where I start off easy by chatting with my sister Monique! She's a couple years older than me, married to Ryan (a roofie) and has 3 children aged 5, 3 and 4mo (at the time of recording). She shares about her favourite recipes (including some yummy gluten free ones!), activities she enjoys with her family, how life with a new baby has affected things like cleaning and hospitality, aaand of course, lots of tangents in between.---Links:Website: www.foodfamilyfellowship.comSign up for email updates here: https://foodfamilyfellowship.com/#email-updatesEmail me: danielle@foodfamilyfellowship.com
