Description
Welcome to UNLEASHED: A Producer's Guide to Indie Filmmaking. My Name is Avi Federgreen and I have produced over 70 feature films in Canada over 30+ years. I run Indiecan Entertainment, a North American distribution company with two other labels: RED WATER ENTERTAINMENT, a genre based Distribution label, and PRIDE PICTURE, a LGBTQ2S+ distribution label.
It's time to shine a light on the state of the industry and explore where we were and where things are heading. Let's get to the bottom of things and find a way to make great indie movies made in today's conditions.

In this episode of UNLEASHED, Avi Federgreen speaks with Justin McConnell, Owner and CEO of Unstable Ground, Inc.Justin splits his time equally in multiple forms of media – as a producer/director of feature films and home entertainment (The Collapsed, Working Class Rock Star, Skull World), in providing a growing list of high-profile clients with every production/post solution available (including trailer editing, DVD/BD authoring, etc.), as the lead programmer of the monthly horror short-film festival LITTLE TERRORS (which he co-runs with Rue Morgue Magazine), as a Programmer & Print Traffic for TORONTO AFTER DARK FILM FESTIVAL, and as an acquisitions exec for Canadian distributor INDIECAN ENTERTAINMENT. Most notably, Justin has four feature films in distribution: the well-received horror/thriller ‘The Collapsed’ (released in over 12 countries worldwide, via companies such as Anchor Bay & Lions Gate), the counter-culture documentary ‘Skull World’ (available worldwide), the dark comedy ‘Junkie’ (producer only, recently released in multiple territories), and the documentary ‘Working Class Rock Star’. With multiple features currently in various stages of development, including the action/horror ‘The Eternal’ (set to star Michael Biehn), the horror novel-adaption 'Mark of Kane', and the horror/comedy ‘Tripped’, Justin looks to contribute his brand of genre insanity to the growing independent scene in Canada.
With over 30 years of design experience in the music and film industry, Small Dog Design is Avi's trusted partner for custom designs with impact. From visual identities to key art, posters, and more, they've collaborated with both the industry giants and the up-and-coming talents.
