Description
For women, health has never just been about food. It’s about pressure, identity, and what we’ve been taught to carry. I’m Maria — health coach, public health specialist, and a woman who’s rebuilt her life after chronic illness, burnout, and business loss. In this podcast, we explore what it really means to care for your health — with honesty, context, and real compassion. This isn’t about weight loss. This is about realignment.

In this episode, I, walk you through a practical five-step survival plan for managing morning symptoms related to IBD/IBS. As someone with Crohn's disease i know first hand how difficult it is to deal with symptoms on a daily basis. Emphasising real-world advice, I discuss the importance of eating earlier with safe meals, prioritising sleep, planning buffer time, knowing your toilet access routes, and practicing self-compassion. These steps are designed to help those with gut conditions feel more in control and less anxious during their morning routines. I also mention additional resources like my IBD morning travel checklist and personalized coaching programs available for further support.
In this episode of Realign the Health Podcast, I discuss the prevalence of self-sabotage among women. I explain that self-sabotage isn't about laziness or lack of motivation; it often stems from being overwhelmed and feeling at capacity. I provide examples, such as not following through with health plans, overeating at night, and perfectionism leading to abandoned goals. I also discuss how people-pleasing and minimising symptoms contribute to self-sabotage. I emphasise that addressing self-sabotage requires honesty, compassion, and small, sustainable changes. Finally, I invite listeners to connect with me for further support and offer a free self-sabotage tracker.
Hello everyone and welcome to the Realigned Health Podcast. I'm Maria, a health coach, public health specialist, mother, and business owner with Crohn's Disease. Today, I want to talk about my work as a coach and how my focus has shifted from just nutrition to a broader view of women's health. Initially, I worked primarily with women on nutrition and diet plans, but I realised health is much more than just macros and diet plans. My own health challenges, including a diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease, taught me the importance of a holistic approach. I ignored my condition for years until it severely affected my daily life, and then I committed to learning everything I could about health and wellbeing. Now, I'm in remission and healthier than I've been in years. Through coaching, I found that women's health issues often stem from emotional and psychological stressors, not just diet. My podcast and coaching program, the Realigned Health Method, aim to support women in achieving sustainable, long-term health by addressing the broader context of their lives. Women don't need more willpower; they need truth and a deeper understanding of their habits and behaviors. Stay tuned for more, including upcoming small group sessions.
