Thank you for joining me today on episode three of the Practical Preppers Podcast. Today, I share with you which items my family specifically keeps in our pantry to use on both a daily basis as well as when sh.t hits the fan. Carbs, proteins, and fats are all necessary to our diets for us to be healthy. There are plenty of vegetarian options that are versatile and shelf stable for years that make practical goods to keep on hand.
Legumes: Shelf stable for years, packed with protein, carbs, and fiber.
Rice: Shelf stable for years, packed with filling carbs,
Wheat berries: Shelf stable for years, pacled with carbs, protein, and fiber.
Oils: Fats are necessary. Ghee, oilive oil, mustards oil, and many other oils are shelf stable for years.
Produce: Some produce keeps for months when properly stored and can add valuable nutrients and fiber to one's diet.
Animals: Chickens, ducks, and geese will give you eggs. Of course, you could eat them along with other farm animals you might keep.
I've created a four F system for beginners to focus on when starting their preparation process. If a person can cover all four of these areas then that person's chance at survival during adverse situations is likely to significantly increase. These are the four basic areas that I think are most important to focus on and give a person to cover the bases before moving onto prepping in other areas.
1.) Fresh Water
2.) Food
3.) Finance
4.) First Aid
Welcome to the Practical Preppers Podcast. I am your host Nihal Kaur and I am excited to introduce both myself and this show to you. I plan to cover a wide array of topics within our community over the next several years and to help you grow as I grow from a beginner to an expert in both emergency and general preparedness. Thank you for listening and I look forward to sharing more with you in episode two!
Join me today as I use our second homeshcooling hour to review my favorite FREE resources that I use in my day to day life as a homeschooling parent.
I believe that good education is fundamental to prepare our children for success in their lives which is why my family chooses to homeschool our children.
Homeschooling doesn't have to be expensice nor difficult. There are many free and easily accessible resources to help you be the best teacher your child could ever have.
I don't think I need to tell you why food security is important because the fact that you're here tells me that you are sensible enough to already know that. Today I talk very, VERY casually about what is in my pantry.
Prepping may look different for all of us and that's ok. Do what works for you.
I share with you today my favorite shelf stable pantry items in hopes that you see the merit in the underrated, easily accessible, and affordable foods that I choose to stock our inventory with.
Welcome preppers to episode 2, Homeschooling Hour, of the Practical Preppers Podcast.
Today I share with you an overview of curriculum for homeschooling my five year old kindergartener as well as reasons why we choose to homeschool; namely, God and controversy.
Critical race theory, gender ideology, childhood grooming, white fragility, "DEI," and many other divisive, political narratives are invading into early childhood education in public schools throughout the United States and YOUR children, yes... YOUR children are being groomed with propaganda. If you're comfortable with that then good on ya. I am not.
My boy will grow to be a boy and my girl will grow to be a girl and not a single, delusional predator will be able to convince me of anything other than what is the actual, real truth.
Homeschooling gives our children the freedom to bond with their families, study and become experts in key subjects based on their own personal interests, the freedom to exist and interact out in the public while other kids are locked indoors for 8-10 hours a day, and much, much more. They gain real life experience.
If these topic spark your interest then welcome! Welcome to Homeschooling Hour where we will talk all things homeschooling.
