Hey all, I'm back with a name change for the podcast to Doctor Anna, MD. Letting you know a little about what I've done the past ~1 year since the last podcast episode Oct. 2023.  I became Quadruple Board-Certified with my newest board certification in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. I tell you about what the heck that is in this short but sweet episode.  I also am going to focus this year on my clinical and research expertise in comprehensive integrative headache and pain management, as well as the most common presenting conditions of pediatric and adult chronic health conditions that may not be so known in the conventional sense.  Coming Soon!!! I'll be coming out with courses and training for physicians and healthcare professionals and others who want to learn more about how to manage headaches and pain.  My first course will be on comprehensive pediatric headache management since I focused solely on that for five years building the first of its kind headache treatment center at a pediatric academic medical center with some of my favorite colleagues. This will be out very soon!!  I'll let you know over on my website: https://www.healthispowher.com/ which will soon be changing to doctorannamd.com. Maybe at next podcast episode! You can follow me here: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/doctorannamd/   Talk soon, Dr. Anna
Hi all, I just wanted to share that I am pausing the podcast until I finish my board exams in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine to become a Quadruple-Board Certified Physician and be the best integrative physician and pain doctor I can be for you. I'm looking forward to training more healthcare professionals in holistic medicine, as I'll be board-certified in pediatrics, integrative medicine, medical acupuncture, and hopefully now, osteopathic manipulative medicine! From Katie Caldwell - Occupational Therapist Meets Integrative Health Practitioner: I started my path helping others within the walls of the hospital after I graduated with my Occupational Therapy degree in 2012.  Fast forward nearly a decade, and I began to feel a pull toward helping others in a new way as I discovered more natural ways for healing. After going through my own health struggles and divorce and then feeling the most unwell I ever had-- in mind, body, and spirit--I found the Integrative Health Practitioner Institute and knew this was where I was meant to be for the next chapter of my life. I applied everything I learned in my IHP journey to my own healing and went on to create my own signature health coaching program called Mind Body Soul Reboot. This is an 8-week, one-on-one health coaching program designed specifically for divorced women.  It's been an honor to guide my clients through their journey and help them rediscover and regain their health and joy! Katie talks about how she started out as an OT, Occupational Therapist, but in her late 20s and 30s she became exhausted with fatigue, joint pain, weight gain, food sensitivities, low thyroid hormones, and mega stress.  She went through an unhealthy marriage that left her feeling "not like herself" and how she describes this period as being so physically painful to get out of bed. But after the divorce, she finally lost 30 pounds, stopped giving all her energy away to her job and to her husband. She started a liver detox -eliminating heavy metals, chemicals and inflammatory foods.  She started a gut healing protocol, changed her mindset, and started to decrease stress in her life!   Now, she has the energy to help others as a Certified Integrative Health Practitioner and has several amazing coaching programs: Learn more here: https://linktr.ee/katiecaldwellihp https://www.katiecaldwellwellness.com/ And follow her on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/katiecaldwell_ihp/
Etienne Peirsman shares his story of how he got into Cranial Sacral Therapy, which included his own experience of self-healing and a miraculous healing of a friend. He also discussed the importance of intuitive healing and the power of Cranial Sacral Therapy to diagnose and heal. Etienne Peirsman discussed how stem cells are connected to the universal intelligence and don't think, but know what to do. He shares a story of a student and friend who were both paralyzed and were able to walk and talk again after a few craniosacral sessions. He also shares a story of a seven year old dyslexic boy who was able to read again after a few minutes of connecting to the life force. Etienne Peirsman teaches people with no knowledge of the body how to access their intuition and use conscious touch to bring instant mindfulness. He also teaches an intensive program where students go through nine courses to learn cranial therapy and deal with their own issues. He guides them through the process and helps them access the life force and release emotions. He also has online courses available, which I definitely want to attend! Check out his courses here: www.peirsmancranio.com/course/basics Etienne's Bio: Highly inspirational and respected teacher in the field of CranioSacral, Etienne Peirsman came to Cranio in a non-traditional fashion. After a a staph infection left him with nearly 20% kidney function, he found that preparing to die brought him the clarity of total silence. In a remarkable turn of events, he was able to heal his own body, which led him to travel to the Osho International Meditation Center, where he was first introduced to Cranio, during an immersive meditation and bodywork training. Etienne describes Cranio as the the closest thing to that wonderful silence he found during his near death experience, and from that time, 31 years ago, it became his life's passion. His journey led him first to apprentice at the Upledger Institute in Florida, then teach at Bastyr University in Washington and the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts. He is the founder of Peirsman Cranio as well as the CranioSacraal Therapie Academy in Holland, where he originated the CranioSacral Professional Organization and is an honorary member of The Dutch CranioSacral Practitioner Society. Author of the pioneering book, "Craniosacral Therapy for Babies and Small Children" published by Penguin Random House, Etienne is about to publish his second book "Tantric Aspects of CranioSacral". It is truly a unique experience to learn Cranio from such a passionate, talented teacher who infuses his classes with good humor and a deep dive into stillness. He strives to use simple language that engages our spontaneity. His methods are the middle ground between biomechanics Upledger style and biodynamic Sutherland style.  In his classes, students learn to start from a no-mind space, a place where the mind can take a vacation, allowing their practice to unfold in non-duality, or what he calls the Midline. He emphasizes the power of touch to stimulate the secretion of oxytocin, a hormone that brings a feeling of oneness and values clarity as the result of being in touch with that Midline that connects us with our life-force, our true and infinite potential. Etienne travels the world with his life partner Toshiko, teaching where he is invited to share this opportunity of radical self transformation. He is also launching his first ever online class, that will have fascinating lectures and detailed instruction on all the hand placements, as a resource for students to learn and enjoy Cranio.
