Andrew, Eddie and Iain look back at The Women's US Open where Charley Hull came up just short of a debut Major win and at Eddie's sojourn in Denmark where he missed the cut and had already booked his flight home before the end of his second round. They also preview The Scottish Open this weekend, talk about why Rory McIlroy is continuing his media silence, discuss the ever ending amount of golf politics with the PGA, DP World Tour and LIV all. We hear from Austrian/American golfer Sepp Straka about the Ryder Cup and oh, Andrew regales with his driving range exploits and gets into an argument with Iain about Scandinavian golfer pronunciations Learn more about your ad choices. This week Eddie has arrived in Qatar ahead of his return to the tour and Andrew has arrived in some sort of work purgatory. However, both still find the time, if not the energy, for a paean of praise to Justin Rose following his dominant win at Torrey Pines. They also wonder if Patrick Reed might win another major after his departure from LIV and question the decision to curtail a tournament on the LPGA Tour.Brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukVisit: www.ping.comEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. Fresh from a top 5.....0 place in Dubai, Eddie has to first of all explain his broken wedge and grazed knuckles, but then he and Andrew pick over a result that still shows plenty of encouragement for the year ahead. Meanwhile they run out of things to say in admiration for Scottie Scheffler after he returns to golf and gets straight back to winning ways. They run out of things to say in general if we're honest, but there is consideration for Eddie starting a TGL golf team and an acknowledgement that Laurie Canter will not be signed up by a Saudi Arabian darts league.Brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukAnd: www.ping.comEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastWatch Eddie's final round in Dubai: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFGWbbDYpwI Hosted on Acast. And thus, the Carter-less weeks begin. With Iain on his travels, Andrew and Eddie are left to stumble forward like Bill Oddie and Tim Brooke-Taylor without Graeme Garden, but fortunately there is plenty to talk about - Eddie is now preparing to start his 2026 golfing year at the Dubai Desert Classic and has a new caddie into the bargain. There are changes on LIV with exciting new names and players, Marco Penge has new clubs, Scottie Scheffler is coming out of hibernation and Andrew has misplaced a Wellington.www.petermillar.co.ukFor the new Ping G440 K driver, visit ping.comEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. A bit of a mess of an episode, due to the late news that Brooks Koepka is back on the PGA Tour with a new pathway which would allow other big names to follow. After that it's business as usual, which means that Andrew, Eddie and Iain cover any number of topics related to golf. And others which are not.Koepka chat up until 16 mins 15.Visit www.petermillar.co.ukCheck out https://eu.ping.com/en-gbEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Difficult scoring conditions for the pod this week with next to zero golf actually happening. Yet Andrew, Eddie and Iain still manage to find over an hour of chat by discussing coloured golf balls, darts, TGL, the naming of South American countries and Al Besselink. What's more, we find out which major championship Eddie decided not to play in...Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukVisit: https://eu.ping.com/en-gb/clubsEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. For our last episode of 2025 Andrew, Eddie and Iain are joined by tennis legend / golf anorak / poor skiier Andy Murray to talk about his ongoing golfing journey and look forward to an almost certain victory alongside Eddie in the Sunningdale Foursomes next year. Apart from that, they remember Jumbo Ozaki and chat about Brooks Koepka's exit from LIV, Mito Pereira's exit from golf and Tiger Woods' exit from his forties. Then they finish up the year with a mention for a forgotten great of South African golf. Thanks for listening in 2025.Visit www.petermillar.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastemail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. In the last episode before Christmas, Andrew, Iain and Eddie convene like the ghosts of past, present and yet to come to mull over Eddie's final tournament for the year, in Mauritius.43rd place doesn't sound exciting and, let's be honest, it isn't. But there is still plenty to be positive about for our resident Tour pro with putting and short game improving. Apart from the trio discussing that, there is also talk about the respective achievements of Jayden Schaper in making it back to back titles and Ryan Gerard in qualifying for The Masters. Other stuff is also talked about in the pod, but I can't remember exactly what at the moment. Merry Christmas. Three become four this week as Laurie Canter joins Andrew, Eddie and Iain to have a detailed chat about his impending move back to LIV. Eddie, meanwhile, is in Mauritius preparing for his return to competition this week by rowing and throwing a tennis ball, while Andrew and Iain defend themselves against various critics on any number of subjects.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast. How do we find consistency in golf? That is the question vexing Eddie at the moment after his trip to Australia where he led during the Australian Open, yet still failed to make the weekend. Remarkably, driving is the only part of his game which is offering permanent satisfaction and he has moved on to Dubai to find some answers. Or just lie in the sun.The trio also wonder if, or how, the Australian Open could become a major as well as interpreting dreams, talking about Norwegian supermarkets and deciding who are the anti-Spaniards.Visit: www.petermillar.co.uk/outerwearEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. This week Eddie breaks down a solid but unspectacular performance at the Australian PGA as he gets his DP World Tour season underway - giving us the often quite temperamental details of what actually went on and his various Eddie-esque methods of dealing with them.Andrew and Iain talk about Fuzzy Zoeller, who died this week, outlining his engaging personality, huge golfing ability and the significant mistake off the course which stayed with him. The news of of Laurie Canter officially joining LIV with the Majesticks broke too late for Eddie to discuss it, but Andrew and Iain do, while Eddie looks ahead to the Australian Open at Melbourne from the comfort one of the top-three hotels he has ever stayed in.Cashmere time at Peter Millar: https://www.petermillar.co.uk/c/gift-guide/cashmereEmail time at: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram time at: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. Possibly a new record for episode duration, which we know is nothing really to be proud of, but our excuse is that we have author, golf lover and all-round overachiever Richard Osman joining us to discuss television, writing, podcasting and most importantly golf. Eddie is down under preparing for the Australian PGA championship and while he looks ahead to that, with his over-lofted putter, he also reflects on the likely departure of friend Laurie Canter to LIV and we try to answer the question: Who is the world number 47?Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastListen to Richard Osman on the podcast 'The Rest is Entertainment'. The Chipping Forecast Salarymen gather once more to chat about various matters, including Matt Fitzpatrick's victory in Dubai and Rory's Race to Dubai title number seven. Meanwhile, Eddie has come down from his high of Q-School and is making practical plans for his upcoming trip to Australia and can bring us exciting news about future plans for the Sunningdale Foursomes. He also has a sensational bedroom revelation about TOUR STAR LAURIE CANTER. He only went and did it... A special episode to mark a special achievement by a special man. Eddie regains his DP World Tour card by finishing with four straight birdies at the final stage of qualifying school in Spain. He joins Iain and Andrew to discuss his performance and where it leaves him now. Emotions ran high in Spain and everybody in the TCF family can celebrate for now. But as he says, it's only a start. Bravo Eddie.Instagram - @chippingforecastEmail - tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
An episode which comes in the midst of the final of Q-School, yet Eddie is happy to have a glass of wine and chat about his current position going into the final two rounds. There is of course plenty to discuss on other matters as well, including Aaron Rai's win in Abu Dhabi and who is in and out of various things, such as PGA Tour cards and bonus pools. There is also a short debate about whether Rory McIlroy is more famous than Andy Murray as well as Andrew droning on about overseas French and Danish territories.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Q-School is in session and Eddie has safely negotiated stage 2. Unfortunately the same can't be said for some expensive possessions as he admits that the frustration of hitting the ball as well as he ever has was not matched by his putting. And yet... he gets to stay on in Barcelona to prepare for stage 3, while Iain has arrived in Dubai ahead of the two big end of season events on the DP World Tour. There is further chat about James Morrison finding his way back to the main tour, Tom McKibbin earning his way to the Masters and The Open as well as a mention of the Chinese Tiger Woods, changes to the Old Course and a sponsor's invitation for perhaps the best connected 18 year old in the game.Warning: this podcast is stuffed full of fluff.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. A rare episode that falls below the one-hour mark, but there are valid reasons:1) It's not the busiest time in golf, 2) Andrew is at death's door so hasn't got quite as much of his non-golf nonsense to waffle on about, 3) Eddie professes to being in the doldrums so isn't really feeling it as he prepares for the second stage of Q-School and 4) Iain is in Venice and has a lot of explaining to do to his sister-in-law.All that being said, we hope you still enjoy it and come back soon.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukEmail:tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. So... that's that for Eddie on Tour this season. Despite (partly) enjoying the DP World India Championship in New Delhi - and also playing a lot of good golf - one quadruple bogey ended his weekend chances and now he's back, shivering and trying to explain himself while wearing three coats in his own home. But we discover that Eddie does now intend to go to Q-School, thus ensuring more drama for the podcast in the weeks to come. There is obviously plenty of praise for Tommy Fleetwood and his latest victory in a season which, according to Andrew and Iain, puts him firmly in the top-three golfers of the year. Meanwhile Andrew tries very hard not to start a coup in West Africa or escalate tensions in the South China Sea. And Iain recommends a film starring an actor called Leonardo DiCaprio, so hopefully that will give a boost to the fellow's career.TCF brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. An earlier than usual recording as Eddie is spending all of Monday travelling to India, having received an invitation to play in the DP World Championship in Delhi. He still makes time to join Andrew and Iain to discuss Marco Penge completing his third victory of a remarkable season in Spain. Xander Schauffele is back in the winner's circle after his triumph in Japan and World Number One Jeeno Thitikul becomes the first repeat winner of the LPGA season. In other news, Iain bought a swing training aid and Andrew will not be selling potatoes any time soon. The Chipping Forecast is in association with: www.petermillar.co.ukEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. An eagerly-awaited serving of TCF as Eddie gets to tell us all about the Dunhill Links experience where he showed more than a few glimpses of what he can do and where he belongs. Partnered with Andy Murray and playing with some of Europe's finest, there were huge crowds, 18 birdies for Eddie and a sizeable contingent of dogs as well as Big Ron and Mad Gazza planning their Saturday night out. A good week was clearly had by all, but where does Eddie go from here? Add to this the news that Eddie was served with a court order and Iain fell over in a kitchen and you can imagine that it is quite the episode.
