Buried Bones - a historical true crime podcast with Kate Winkler Dawson and Paul Holes
Description
On Buried Bones, journalist Kate Winkler Dawson and forensic investigator Paul Holes dissect some of history’s most compelling true crime cases from centuries ago. Together, they explore these very old cases through a 21st century lens. With their years of expertise and knowledge of modern forensics, they reflect on how far science has come and bring new insight to old mysteries. Together, Kate and Paul have examined many cases including the 1932 Lindbergh baby kidnapping, the first time fingerprinting was used as evidence in a courtroom and a possible serial killer in 1960s Nashville. They ask, was the right person convicted or was someone wrongfully accused? See pictures, diagrams and evidence from each case on Instagram @buriedbonespod. Buried Bones is part of the Exactly Right podcast network that provides a platform for bold, creative voices to bring to life provocative, entertaining and relatable stories for audiences everywhere. What do you mean "in the past". 😮💨
Buried Bones sounds like a fascinating podcast for true crime fans! For a different kind of engaging entertainment, I’ve also been enjoying **https://dk999game.org/**—it’s easy to access and really fun to play.
Kate! How can you play in Regency period history and not know about powder and pomade? Kidding! But my guess is that Blue Beard is from dyed powders being used during WWI. Easier than hair dyes today I suppose.
Talking about the smell of decomp is so true. There is nothing like that smell! once you know it, you will never forget it. Covering it up with Vick's only makes it .... trademarked? lol
Well, you have big balls adressing this case in this forum.
What an episode! There is a great podcast about George Hodel and his possible involvement in the black Dahlia murder. Root of Evil: The True Story of the Hodel Family and the Black Dahlia.
The author keeps trying to insert race in the story, but then presents no evidence it played a role outside her own bias. Just tell the story, it’s a good one.

It would be good for you guys to know what a house coat is. It actually is not a jacket. Nor is it a coat. It's an article of clothing women would wear only in the house, over their underwear, when they were doing household tasks. Similar function/purpose to an apron--to protect the clothing underneath--but fashioned like a robe. Usually three-quarter length sleeves. Buttons or snaps up the front. Mid calf length. Light weight cotton fabric.

Delaware mentioned! 😅
If you want to listen to the story, you'll need to skip ahead 12 minutes and 5 seconds.
my last rental car had blood smeared on the ceiling panel. 🙃
I think I could figure out what I was doing 2 years ago if I was checking my messages and photos, but in the 1800's there were no phones
This lady slept with half the town, had multiple abortions, killed her husband, strangled her baby, but don’t you dare call her a slut! This Kate woman is a liberal idiot.
The Arizona Republic (the publication this reporter worked for) as a 6 episode season from 2019 called "Rediscovering: Don Bolles" for those interested in this case.
I also had the pregnancy carpel tunnel. Not fun but passed in a reasonable time.
disgusting that this predator got away with such prolonged abuse.
This was fascinating! I have read and listened to accounts of this crime before but had never heard the theory that Paul posits here.
