What happened to honour amongst thieves? We don't even have that anymore; we're so morally bankrupt. Corruption is the monster under our beds, except it also stole the bed, the room, and the title deed. I'm laughing through the despair because if you don't laugh, you'll cry.
Do you even trust the news anymore? In this episode, we do a deep dive on how traditional media, also known as legacy media, lost trust of the public and how the internet is the great equaliser in getting the news out.
The world's on fire (again), and somehow we're still expected to clock in, shut up, and maybe fight? Let's unpack the mess — from empire games and exported soldiers to why Gen Z would sooner meme than march. War is ridiculous. So is this episode.
From toxic jobs to broken systems, we've mastered the art of coping with nonsense — and then calling it a blessing. In this episode, we unpack Kenya's favourite survival mantra: "At least…" Is it resilience, denial, or both? Tune in. Laugh. Unlearn.#Omenerds
Why think critically when you can just cheer loudly? In this episode, we take a satirical stroll through the rise of idiocracy and its favourite sidekick — sycophancy. From performative praise to the decline of media literacy, we explore how clapping louder has replaced thinking deeper. Set against the very Kenyan backdrop of blind loyalty and borrowed opinions, we ask: is it really that hard to think?#omenerds
Between ghosted plans, low social batteries, and friends who live hours away but feel like they moved to another continent, keeping your circle tight these days feels like trying to renew your passport huko Nyayo — slow, painful, and somehow still confusing. Let's break it down.#omenerds
At what point did "community" become "every man for himself?" In this episode, we're delving into the rise of hyper-individualism—how we went from looking out for each other to treating basic human decency like an optional subscription. Is it just capitalism doing what capitalism does, or have we all low-key decided that empathy is too expensive? Are we all just too tired to care?Let's get into it.
Podcasting used to be a sacred art—reserved for nerds with too much time and true crime girlies solving cold cases from their couches. But now? Now, every guy with WiFi and a grudge thinks the world needs his "thoughts". In this episode, we investigate the epidemic of unnecessary podcasts. Who's making them? Why won't they stop? And most importantly—why do they all think we need *their* advice on success when they're recording from their mom's living room? Tune in before you, too, start a podcast no one asked for.HOSTED AND PRODUCED BY: LaureezyOUR SOCIALS: Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/omenerdspodcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/omenerdspodcast
Guess who's back? It's me, Laureezy f Baby (the f is for finally doing this again), and Omenerds has officially made a chaotic comeback! In this episode, I'm diving headfirst into the all-too-relatable mess that is impostor syndrome. You know, that nagging voice that makes you feel like a fraud even when you're clearly killing it? Yeah, we're calling it out and dragging it through the mud.I'll share some questionable wisdom, a few stories that are as unhinged as they are funny, and remind you that no one really knows what they're doing out here. Let's overthink, laugh, and fake it 'til we make it—together. If you're ready to shake off the doubt and embrace the chaos, hit play.

So no one told you life was gonna be this way. Your job's a joke, you are broke, your love life's D.O.A. It's like you're always stuck in second gear, when it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year.On the fourth episode of Omenerds podcast, we try figure out our personal interpretations of the "Kenyan Dream" or if it is in fact an actual Kenyan nightmare from which there is no waking up. We were also joined by Mugambi Nthiga, an award wining Kenyan actor, director, writer and Sallinder Nyawira from Rescue BnB, a community seeking to map, match and connect those in need of help with those willing to volunteer, provide sustenance and support following Kenya's August & October 2017 Elections. It was "created" on 2 am on Saturday, 12th August when Sallinder Nyawira tweeted an offer to house anyone who was in need of a place to stay due to security concerns, to contact her. Over 24 hours, it grew and now has a core team of 10 personnel managing various administrative functions, as well as 100's of volunteers in Kibra, Kawangware, Dandora, Mathare, Siaya, Kisumu and online. The Omenerds Podcast is Kenyan pop culture and social commentary with a twist.
