Around the town: Bobby has a new dumbass get rich quick scheme: blackmail! Norma's mom is in town, with her new husband, Ernie “The Professor” Niles, who it turns out Hank knows from prison. Jerry is doing a horrendous job as Ben’s lawyer, but at least the brothers can reminisce about Louise Dombrowski’s sexy flashlight dance. His day gets even worse when Pete, now in sicko mode, shows up to deliver a recorded extortion from Catherine. Lucy is back with her sister, Gwen, and Gwen’s baby, as the show keeps the “is Andy a father or not” plotline ricocheting between yes and no.Meanwhile, Coop continues his prodigious taking L’s streak, failing to apprehend Leland at every opportunity. He’s changed his mind about Ben being the killer after Ben fails MIKE’s BOB detector test, but Harry insists on charging him based on the hard evidence, not the dreams. He gets a visit from Audrey who wants to ask if her father is the killer and assure Coop that she’s still a virgin, but is interrupted by Coop hearing that Maddy has been found on a beach, dead, wrapped in plastic.⁂Support the show on Patreon for early access and exclusive movie discussion episodesFollow the show on BlueskyQuestions? Dale brings the rescued Audrey to the Bookhouse, where she says some very almost-incriminating things about her father. He starts feeling bad about endangering Audrey with his cross-border raids, but Harry says ehh just don’t think about it. Then his boss and best friend, Gordon Cole, shows up! With CLUES! Yayy! And a spooky chess note from Windom Earle… oh no…. AND they find the one-armed man, who gives us a real lore dump about the Spirit World, and the cliffhanger that BOB is…. in the great northern!!!!!Meanwhile: Donna and James are I guess back together? Because btw Maddy says she’s going to leave the show. Josie also says SHE’s going to leave the show. The Specter Of Incest Looms. Mr Tojamura makes Ben sweat, and rebuffs Pete’s cruising attempts. And last but not least, ladies and gentlemen: Nadine is Ready To Fuck.⁂Support the show on Patreon for early access and exclusive movie discussion episodesFollow the show on BlueskyQuestions? Dale gets a confession from Leland for the murder of Jacques Renault, and puts him up for trial. Donna investigates Harold’s having Laura’s diary, is mostly just sad, but it’s weird that Harold is so insistent on NOT giving it to the cops.Meanwhile, the elusive travel writer M.T. Wentz is visiting the town, the show gears up to get really racist with Josie’s continuing plotline and the introduction of Yellowface Guy, Hank is up to no good and gets beat up, and Andy is jorking it... and by it, well, let’s just say…. heh heh… his peanits.⁂Follow the show on BlueskyQuestions? Coop will not leave Ronnette Pulaski alone, but it’s worth it guys: he found a letter “B”. He fills Harry and Albert in about his giant visions, and then Harry and Albert go enemies to lovers. Leland tells Coop about his childhood memory of Bob, with new information for us: he wanted to “play with fire”. Blackie and (gasp!) Jean Renault concoct a frankly insane scheme to get Audrey addicted to heroin and ransom her to Ben Horne. Jean wants Dale, presumably because he thinks he killed his frere Jacques. But wait! With Jacoby’s meditative help, Coop and Harry find out Leland killed Jacques. Anyway! One-armed Philip Gerard shows up, but when he sees a picture of Bob he freaks out and tries to take some medication. Without it, he points… but to where?Meanwhile, Lucy’s baby daddy Dick Tremaine is introduced, the guy they wrote the Legally Blonde musical “Gay or European?” song about. Dale is onto Shelley, but not the Asian Man watching him. Nadine is out of her coma, and ready for senior year. Donna is so pissed off that James and Maddy keep making the insane love song from last episode play in the soundtrack. She complains about it to her new friend, Laura’s shut-in meals on wheels confidante Harold Smith… but he has Laura’s diary??? ⁂Support the show on Patreon for early access and exclusive movie discussion episodesFollow the show on BlueskyQuestions? Garland Briggs has a special message for Dale – from space! And he gets a phone call from Audrey, who’s used her wiles to get info on Laura from Emory Battis, the perfume counter creep – but she just might be caught!Meanwhile: Donna’s meals on wheels quest introduces her to an old lady, a magician boy, and a recluse. Andy’s sterile, but he still has to take baths. Leo’s in a coma – for now – and Bobby sees dollar signs in 1990s America’s famously lavish disability aid program. The show is still insistent on being threatened by the presence of an Asian man. And to cap things off, Donna and Maddy compete for James’ affection in an insane song, but are interrupted by a profoundly disturbing vision of BOB. ⁂Support the show on Patreon for early access and exclusive movie discussion episodesFollow the show on BlueskyQuestions? Twin Peaks S2E1: May The Giant Be With YouDale’s been shot! What a cliffhanger! It’s September 1990, and I’ve been itching for some narrative resolution all summer! But David Lynch says no no no – instead, you get the slowest glass of warm milk in the world, and some Giant Prophecies! After (kinda) recovering, Coop gets brought up to speed on the crazy events of the finale and learns the following clues:Laura knew some weird poetryJacoby had her necklaceLeo has an alibiWhoever killed Jacques Renault smelled like engine oiland Jacques’ body was in a… smiling bag‼️He focuses the case on finding the “third man” present at Laura’s murder. Also, Albert’s back, and he’s still an asshole.Meanwhile, Audrey barely fends off her father at One-Eyed Jack’s with the help of a Venetian mask, but is locked in her room for it, as her subplot makes the official tone switch from saucily playful to ominously dire. Leland’s hair turns white overnight, and he’s joined a barbershop quartet about it – and by the way, Maddy had a weird rug dream? It really freaks her out. She gets in an “act like Laura” contest with Donna about it. Other stuff: We learn about Ed and Nadine’s backstory. Bobby has a surprisingly touching moment with his father. Josie’s in Seattle… shopping? But a mysterious man wants to talk to her. The hospital food will kill ya. And last but not least, coma-bound Ronnette Pulaski has a vision/flashback of Laura’s murder, in the most genuinely terrifying sequence on the show to date.⁂Support the show on Patreon for early access and exclusive movie discussion episodesFollow the show on BlueskyQuestions? Season 1 goes out with a bang, with as much capital-p Plot as almost the rest of the season combined. Jacoby gets the shit beaten out of him! Coop catches weaselly Jacques Renault, with the help of Andy’s surprisingly straight shooting – but then Leland kills him! Andy’s gunplay gets him a conversation with Lucy, and she’s pregnant! Leo burns the mill down, with Shelly and Catherine in it! Then he gets shot – again! James gets grilled by the cops after listening to Laura’s tape with Maddy and Donna! Catherine and Pete kinda make up! Hank is a piece of shit to Josie, but at least he shot Leo! Nadine tries to kill herself! Audrey may have bit off more than she can chew with her “do sex work at the high concept brothel her dad secretly owns” plan! And to wrap things up, somebody shoots coop!!!! Dale Cooper becomes the world’s first cop to not try to sleep with a high schooler. Audrey pursues her investigation, following the trail from the Horne store perfume desk to One-Eyed Jack’s. Donna, James, and Maddy disguise Maddy as Laura to lure out Dr. Jacoby, but they’re being followed by Bobby, who’s being followed by... someone? Also: a history lesson on the sick freak who invented motion pictures, and a (pretty long) tangent on Officially Catholic bouncy castles. We recorded this before Pope Francis died, but hope he's bouncing with Jesus now.⁂Support the show on Patreon for early access and exclusive movie discussion episodesFollow the show on BlueskyQuestions? The investigation continues apace as Sarah Palmer's vision, a bust on Jacques Renault’s apartment, and bevy of birds answer some questions and raise even more. Not to be left out of the investigative frenzy, Audrey and Donna both vow to uncover the truth behind Laura's death themselves. Meanwhile, Coop gets some Boys Time in with the Gun Boys, the plot to burn down the mill heats up, Bobby is up to no good, and Norma's husband Hank is up for parole, despite his insistence on ominously sucking off a domino….⁂Support the show on Patreon for early access and exclusive movie discussion episodesFollow the show on BlueskyQuestions? After last week’s crazy cliffhanger, Cooper announces almost directly to the camera that his dream contains clues that will solve everything, but also that he forgot the most important part. As a sign that he has become a bona fide citizen of Twin Peaks, the Bookhouse Boys invite him into their secret club dedicated to fighting the evil in the woods. To that end, they’ve kidnapped a French Canadian. Laura Palmer’s funeral inspires the men of Twin Peaks to punch each other. Meanwhile, Audrey uses a secret passageway to spy on her family, Josie fears for her life, Norma’s husband might be out of jail soon, and Leland is really breaking down, unconsoled by the appearance of a mysterious niece… but doesn’t she look almost exactly like Laura Palmer?⁂Support the show on Patreon for early access and exclusive movie discussion episodesFollow the show on BlueskyQuestions? This first episode is going out to everyone as a special treat :)We talk about hit transgender film I SAW THE TV GLOW! We both really liked it, but also both walked away with some criticisms. We dig into what works for us, what doesn't so much, and also we end up sidetracking into talking about which indie musicians we do or don't like for like 20 minutes. The bucolic logging town of Twin Peaks is rocked by tragedy when the town sweetheart, Laura Palmer, is found dead, wrapped in plastic. As those who knew her (which seems to be everyone) reel from this crime, another victim is found alive, but in shock. Over the course of a busy 90-minute pilot, we spend... maybe surprisingly little time with FBI agent Dale Cooper as he begins to unravel the mystery, and a lot of time meeting the enormous cast of characters that comprise Twin Peaks. Also: Georgia O'Keefe, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and Big Beautiful Buff Boys Barking.⁂Support the show on Patreon for early access and exclusive movie discussion episodes.Follow the show on BlueskyQuestions?
