Excited to have on Comics For You this week writer Christopher Cantwell. Christopher's currently writing the excellent Star Trek expanded universe comics series, Red Shirts with IDW publishing which we get into a bunch for any Trek fans out there. Issue #4 of 5 is out on November 5th. He and Matthew also touch on his series Out of Alcatraz from Oni Press, the collected edition of which is out October 21st wherever books and comics are sold. Plus, he’s done work for DC with Plastic Man, Marvel with Iron Man and Hellcat; BOOM!’s fantasy quest book Briar. On the Film/TV side, last year he was a showrunner on the third season of the horror anthology series The Terror for AMC, the same network he had his breakthrough series Halt and Catch Fire with. Chritopher deep dives into what it is from his personal experience he brings into each of these projects, the art of pitching, comparing how to pitch for film and TV vs comics. He tells an amazing story about the worst pitch experience of his career. Tristan’s currently working with Christian Ward on IDW’s Event Horizon: Dark Descent, expanding on the universe of the late 90’s cult cosmic horror film.
