Be afraid, be very afraid!!!We asked you guys to choose which original and remake to compare next, The Fly easily beat Fright Night, The Fog, Flatliners and Firestarter, with 41% of the votes. The 1958 b-movie starring Vincent Price is a classic but was the gore filled David Cronenberg 1986 remake the better film?Ian Pointer returns, we watched the movies back to back and here are our thoughts.
7 years after the original Starship Troopers hit cinema screens, a straight to DVD follow up hit our TV screens. This time directed by visual effects legend Phil Tippett, it focused less on action and went the sci fi horror route. Critics panned it but it was successful enough for a third part to also hit DVD shelves 4 years later. This time directed by the original screenwriter Edward Neumeier. It returned to the more action based sci fi and satire of the first movie and the original lead Casper Van Dien returned as Ricco.James Rowe from The King Street Cinema returns, neither of us had seen these sequels but are fans of part one. This podcast is our thoughts.....'Would you like to know more?'

After the flop of 1995's Showgirls, director Paul Verhoeven decide to return to sci fi satire, which had brought him previous success with Robocop and Total Recall. The movie was critically panned and under performed at the box office but has since grown cult status, spawned straight to video sequels and an animated series. Many consider the movie misunderstood feeling many didn't understand the satire on it's release. James Rowe from The King Street Cinema in Ipswich joins me to discuss Starship Troopers, we both saw it on the big screen on its release and enjoyed it. Do we feel the same nearly 30 years later?

In the early 90s action movies were huge. Two of the biggest stars came together for an action packed sci fi movie that went on to be huge, spawn several sequels and elevate little known director Roland Emmerich to mainstream Hollywood.I look back on this movie with Benji Copeman, who's a long time fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme (who stars with Dolph Lundgren) but never seen this film..... until now.Join us as we look back on Universal Soldier.
In 2022 James Wan teamed up with Blumhouse Productions, Director Gerard Johnstone and screenwriter Akela Cooper to bring the killer doll horror movie back for the 21st century.M3GAN was a huge hit and look many by surprise with it's dark humour ,likably characters and fantastic special effects. mixing horror with sci fi and drama. In 2025 M3GAN is back with the much anticipated sequel M£GAN 2.0. In 2022 Winnie the pooh went int the public domain, by 2023 director Rhys Frake-Waterfield had released Winnie the Pooh - Blood & Honey, a slashers movie depicting Pooh and his lovable friend Piglet going on a killing spree. The movie cursed much controversy and was hated by critics. Some people claiming it even ruined their childhood watching it. The movie however was a success and has already gained quite a cult following. A higher budget and (slightly) better received sequel soon followed and the Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare shortly after that, which showed a very dark version of Peter Pan in the same universe as the Pooh movies. The Pooniverse was born.......Sam Williamson a life long horror fans joins me to discuss these 3 movies, their controversies and where the franchise is going.give it a listen..... if you dare
