Kevin Stefanski spoke to the media today in Berea and announced that Dillon Gabriel will be the starting quarterback moving forward. The third-round rookie enters a tough situation with an under-performing offense, and a tough task looming in Week 5. Jake and Brad analyze the decision from every angle including the issues with the choice now, why they felt it had to be done, what we can expect from Gabriel this week and beyond, and how well he needs to play to retain the job. Plenty more on the decision coming throughout the week. Unlock the daily FULL and AD-FREE daily podcast each day by clicking the link to join and support us by subscribing at BrownsFilmBreakdown.com. It's Brad and Peter today as they discuss a busy Monday for the Browns. They discuss the trade with the Texans for Cam Robinson and whether it helps solve the left tackle issues. Some thoughts on DeAndre Carter and Cedric Tillman, which head coach Kevin Stefanski has stated will keep them out "weeks." Stefanski also took a non-committal stance when addressing the future of the quarterback position on Monday -- which is a change from recent comments -- so the two discuss if the change will happen this week or further into the future. Lastly, some notes on the performances from Sunday the two noticed and the difficult travel schedule looming. The Browns battled the Lions throughout much of yesterday's game but in the end they handed away points on turnovers and special teams en route to the ugly 34-10 final score. They have to find a way to stop giving away games with losing plays like we saw yesterday in both the big and small moments. When you add them up, the Browns are making their own life too difficult. Following an opener that hits on the rush to replace the quarterback, and whether it makes sense now or a few weeks down the line, Jake spends some time going around the NFL and quickly providing thoughts about the AFC North and the NFL’s Week 4 slate. Then you get the Post-Game Show Replay where Brad joins as well. They will have more of this analysis following the All-22 consumption on Monday and Tuesday and it will be delivered promptly. Erase this one from the memory, but the Browns have to learn some lessons.
