Some things don't live in your mind — they live in your body, in land, in place. In this solo episode, Danielle reflects on twenty years of snowboarding, the conditions that made her who she is, and what it means to build toward becoming something rather than arriving at it all at once. She explores how mountains hold memory in ways the mind sometimes can't, why we don't have to collapse nuance into a single identity or a single sport, and what it means to hold the beauty and privilege of natural spaces alongside the surreal weight of what's happening in the world right now. This episode goes somewhere unexpected — and that felt important to share.

KK's passion for biology started when she was 6—she would go over to her neighbors' house to pick their flowers because they simply amazed her. Every time KK went to a greenhouse, she would take the freshly fallen flowers and bring them home with her.KK's interests continued into college when she learned that all medicine stems from plants and fungi. She started taking plant biology classes at Minnesota State University-Mankato and again fell in love with how plants work—most importantly how the physiology works. She learned how plants signal to other plants and fungi in order to share messages and nutrients. KK learned how connected the world is and how evolved plants are with their surroundings. KK created Flora Fungi Podcast to express her love for biology and hopes she can educate some of you on how special it all is.In this episode you will hear about…-How plants evolved to attract humans (and why we find flowers beautiful)-The transformative power of one great professor who nurtures your curiosity-KK's college realization that "all drugs are plants" and how it changed her path-The honest reality of podcast monetization—why education alone doesn't make money-What it means to be a "super connector" and how it's actually monetizable-Mycelial networks—both the literal kind between trees and the metaphorical kind between people-Finding flow states in unexpected places like the greenhouse-Why sometimes plants are just easier than people-The mushroom mapping project and navigating controversy around sharing foraging locations-Nerdy Jobs concept—a TV series exploring plant and fungi careers beyond horticultureWays to stay connected…You can stay up to date with KK on her Instagram, Linktr, and website !
