Hello Friend, my most profound hope is that you will grow closer to God during this season. I invite you to join me in a meaningful spiritual practice that has greatly enriched my own faith—Advent prayers. This practice connects us with millions of believers around the world and throughout history, as we meditate on the arrival of Christ. Advent, meaning "arrival," is a time of reflection observed in the four weeks leading up to Christmas. It invites us to contemplate the themes of hope, peace, joy, and love. Starting this Sunday, November 30, and continuing through Christmas, I will send you a prayer that aligns with these themes. Each prayer will be about 200 words, accompanied by a simple recording of about 1 minute and 50 seconds. Let’s prepare our hearts for Jesus’s arrival. This season is more than holiday preparations; it’s about spiritual renewal. Let us pray.Heavenly Father, as we embark on our spiritual journey, guide us in our prayers and reflections. Help us to find peace amid the chaos and to renew our hearts in your love. May we draw closer to you and ignite a longing for your presence in our lives. May we see an increase in signs, wonders, and miracles in our lives. Amen.Looking forward to praying with you and growing in more love with Jesus! Warmly, Bob
Hello Friend. A few traditions around the Perry Thanksgiving Table to share with you today. Growing up, my family had Thanksgiving Dinner only with our immediate family—Sharon's complete opposite. Family, neighbors, and friends of those who were coming were the Sharon Homeyer family Thanksgiving dinner way, as long as you brought something to eat, it worked, or something to drink, it worked, so it was like a community dinner. Well, then, after being married for a few years, Sharon and I moved quite a distance away from both of our parents, and we were forced to start our own traditions. So here I go with sharing how I welcome people, pray, thank, and tell a few pieces of the Christian story behind the Thanksgiving history in America. A welcome before the food is served, I share something like this, either standing around the dining room table or the kitchen counter:Friends and Family, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the Thanksgiving table. It is heartwarming to see each of you here, united in a spirit of gratitude and camaraderie. As we gather to celebrate this cherished occasion, let us take a moment to reflect on the origins of Thanksgiving. The Pilgrims, having faced tremendous challenges during their voyage on the Mayflower over 400 years ago to Cape Cod, just outside of Boston, arrived in an unfamiliar land filled with uncertainty. Despite enduring significant hardships and limited rations—often just five kernels of corn per day—their resilience and faith saw them through. Ultimately, the next year, in 1621, they celebrated their first harvest alongside their Native friends, fostering a spirit of cooperation and gratitude that lasted among these devout believers for decades. As we partake in this meal together, let us honor their legacy by expressing our own thankfulness. Now, I invite you to join me in prayer for the food and our celebration together: Gracious Heavenly Father, as we gather, we thank you for your love for us and the blessings you have given us. We express our sincere gratitude for the blessings in our lives. Thank you for the love of family and friends, and for the meal before us, a symbol of your goodness and provision. May this food nourish our bodies and strengthen our relationships. Let us remember those in need and strive to share your compassion in all we do. On this day of thanksgiving, may our hearts be filled with joy and kindness. And we all said, Amen. Then we have a family tradition around what we call, the Five Kernels of Corn. Before the food is serve, we set on each plate a few pieces of corn.I don't tell the whole story every year about the Five Kernels of Corn, but I do want our family to explain to their guests why we have the tradition of a few small pieces of corn on the table. My story goes something like this: In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I invite you to contemplate the Five Kernels of Corn, a tradition rooted in the experiences of the early Pilgrims who faced many hardships, including year one in 1620, when they had to live on the ration of a few kernels of corn a day. The first kernel represents our gratitude for God's provisions, encouraging us to recognize and cherish the blessings in our lives. The second kernel symbolizes hope, reflecting the Pilgrims’ determination to overcome challenges while keeping their faith in divine support. The third kernel emphasizes the importance of community, highlighting the strength that comes from our unity. The fourth kernel is a tribute to faith, which uplifts us in difficult times. Finally, the fifth kernel embodies the idea of sharing, urging us to reach out and extend our blessings to others, in line with Jesus's teachings. Together, these kernels remind us to embrace a life filled with gratitude and...
Hello Friend. A prayer that helps us to embrace rest and renewal this holiday season. Dear Father God, As we gather this day, we come before you with a heart full of gratitude for the gift found in rest. Lord, we acknowledge Your invitation to "come away and be with me," and we seek to embrace this promise in our lives, especially during this season filled with challenges. We take a moment to pause and reflect, just as you remind us in Psalm 46:10 to "be still and know that I am God." As business leaders, we often carry heavy burdens. The pressures of the upcoming holiday season, combined with the stress of everyday responsibilities, can weigh us down. We ask for Your strength to rise above the challenges we face, as you promise in Isaiah 40:31 that those who hope in You will renew their strength and soar like eagles. Help us, Lord, to refocus our minds on Matthew 6:33, seeking first Your kingdom and your righteousness, knowing that all other things will be added unto us. In the midst of seasonal changes, we also lift up those who are struggling with health challenges. We pray Your healing touch from Exodus 15:26, asking for restoration of both physical and mental well-being. May we find peace in trials, as James 1:2 teaches us to consider them pure joy, knowing they produce perseverance. Lord, as we embrace this season, help us wipe away fatigue and anxiety so that we can enter your rest. Let this season be one of renewal and restorative sleep, and a peaceful, calm mindset, guiding us to lead with clarity and purpose. May his grace and peace multiply in us to his glory. Amen.
Hello Friend. Happy Wednesday. Focus today is Embracing God’s Power: Pray Big in Tough Times. Let’s pray, Heavenly Father, we come before you today with bold hearts and open spirits, ready to lift our voices in audacious prayer. Lord, in the midst of circumstances that may seem to distance us from your presence, we declare that you are ever near. We believe that nothing is impossible for you, and today, we dare to ask for the extraordinary. God, we lift up our dreams to you—the dreams that ignite our spirits and reflect your glory. We pray for success in our endeavors, for breakthroughs in our lives, and for miracles in places we thought were impossible. We release our faith and take the limits off you, trusting that you are eager to show your favor in our lives. Just as Moses cried out for the parting of the Red Sea and Joshua asked for the sun to stand still, we too raise our prayers for the seemingly impossible. We know that you answered them, and today we ask for our own explosive blessings. As believers down through the ages have turned to you in desperation and were delivered, we know that you will meet us in our challenges, bringing mighty victories to our lives. Help us to align our prayers with your will, Lord. Remind us that these prayers are not just for our own gain, but for your glory. We focus not on the answers, but on you, the Answer-Giver—the source of all strength and hope. May our prayers reflect the boundless size of our God, and may our expectations soar high as we believe in your power to do more than we can ask or imagine. As we pray boldly, may we embrace the journey of transformation. Shape our character, strengthen our faith, and fill us with hope for what lies ahead. We thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for the remarkable things you are about to do in our lives. Amen.Dear Friend, as we approach Thanksgiving, I want to share with you a small book I wrote titled “A Table Prepared for Thanksgiving.” This book explores the traditions of the Perry family Thanksgiving table, which honor the Lord, express gratitude, and highlight the Lord's goodness. We acknowledge that in this season, forces of darkness attempt to rise against us, using different dark schemes to distract and hinder our work in our lives. Hello Friend. Today’s focus is Guarding Our Spirits: Prayer Against Halloween's Dark Influence. As believers, we understand that perspectives on Halloween can vary widely, primarily due to its connections to darkness, pagan origins, and the historical practices of divination and costumes to ward off evil spirits. The modern-day tie to occult practices, such as Wicca, highlights Halloween as a significant time for spiritual activity, drawing in psychics and satanic rituals. The Bible warns us against witchcraft and sorcery, reminding us that even innocent engagements can open the door to demonic influence. Christians have differing views on how to approach October 31st. Some choose to completely abstain from any associated activities, while others seek to redeem the day by hosting Harvest Festivals with their church communities, wearing Biblical costumes, or participating in outreach opportunities. I encourage each believer to make personal decisions that honor the Lord. As the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 14, our choices on such matters should reflect our conscience without causing division among fellow believers. Friend, let’s pray. Jesus, we come before you in need of your guidance and discernment in these challenging times. Help us to see as you see, to feel as you feel, and to speak only what you give us. We recognize that you have important lessons to teach us and this generation about spiritual warfare. As the Apostle Paul reminds us, our struggle is not against flesh and blood. Lord, we acknowledge the reality of evil forces that many believers face, especially during Halloween, when occult influences may appear more prominently. Instead of living in fear, we choose to wear the "armor of God" and stand firm in our faith, trusting in your victory over darkness. We plead the power of the blood of Jesus over our lives, our families, and our communities. The Lord rebuke you, satan! We submit to God, resist the devil, and proclaim that he must flee. May the peace of Jesus and the protection of our Heavenly Father, encompass us as we navigate this season with discernment, wisdom, and courage. We pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In Jesus name.Amen.

Help us to make meaningful connections that lead to greater opportunities and to inspire those around us with our words and actions. Lord, we recognize that everything we have comes from you. We ask that you increase our income, providing abundantly so that we can bless others as we have been blessed. Let us be good stewards of the resources you entrust to us, using them to spread your love and kindness in our workplaces. Put your hand of favor upon us, Lord. Grant us wisdom and discernment as we navigate the challenges and decisions we face in our jobs. Give us the courage to stand firm in our values, to rise above negativity, and to contribute positively to our work environments. Keep us from harm and pain, shielding us from any discouragement and conflict that may arise. As we step into each day, may we be conduits of your grace and peace. Let us foster a spirit of unity and collaboration among our colleagues. May our actions and attitudes reflect your love and truth, drawing others to you. We thank you for the opportunities you provide and for your constant presence in our lives. Hello Friend. Our focus today is on when life gets rough: remember who’s in your boat. The gospel of Mark, chapter 4, describes how Jesus and the disciples were on a boat caught in a vast, dangerous storm at night. The disciples panicked, fearing for their lives, even those who were career fishermen, so you know it was bad. Then, to top it all off, Jesus was at rest, sleeping in the stern of the boat. You would think that after seeing Jesus perform so many miracles, they would believe he would keep them safe. But doubt and fear crept in, and they went into panic mode. For some of us, it is easy to see things as a crisis, leading to a quick exit from the peace. We can soon start magnifying the negative and blowing things out of proportion. I have done this quite too often, and I get all worked up, worried, and upset. But when I pause, think, and grasp the correct God perspective, I realize that the one who controls the universe is in my boat —he speaks to the storms, and they obey. We don’t have to let the circumstances pull us from peace. Let’s not focus on the size of the problem, but put our attention on the size of our God. Let’s remember, after Jesus spoke to the sea, it calmed down immediately. The disciples then said, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"Heavenly Father, we come before you today, recognizing that life often brings storms we cannot control. Jesus, just as you calmed the raging sea, we ask you to calm the storms at work, in our homes, and in us. Step into our lives and, with your supernatural intervention, bring about your signs, wonders, and miracles. Help us remember that you are in the boat with us—unstoppable, faithful, and all-powerful. Teach us to focus not on our fears but on your immense love and authority over all circumstances. May we find rest in you, trusting that you will guide us safely through. We declare the name of Jesus over every troubled circumstance, knowing you are in control. Thank you for your peace, presence, provision, protection, and purposes being done in our lives. To God be the glory. Amen.

Lord, we ask for your anointing over their endeavors, that they may boldly integrate their faith into their business practices without compromising their biblical values. Grant them the wisdom to balance the sacred mission of glorifying you with the necessary pursuit of financial success. In this competitive world, where shortcuts can tempt the heart, help them to stand firm in integrity and ethical principles, pursuing prosperity that uplifts rather than exploits. Teach them to measure success not just in profits, but in the eternal impact they have on their employees, customers, and communities. We remember the first communion—the breaking of bread and the sharing of wine with Your disciples, despite their imperfections. You welcomed them, knowing their hearts. We are eternally grateful for Your invitation to fellowship, unconditional love, and grace. Thank You, Jesus, for the beauty of Your faithfulness. Even in our moments of doubt, You remain steadfast. As we participate in this sacred remembrance, we recall Your broken body for us and Your blood shed for our covenant. May this October be a time of renewal, reflection, and transformative encounters with Your grace. As we eat and drink in remembrance of You during this month, may our hearts overflow with hope, joy, and a deeper connection to our Lord, King, and Bridegroom. We pray for renewal for every heart this Yom Kippur, and may the love of our Messiah draw all closer to You. We are grateful for the gift of Your grace and the promise of Your work in our lives. Holy Spirit, may You send heavy rain again, the outpouring of Your spirit. May many be saved and come to the knowledge of Christ. Send revival, O, Lord. Amen.Let us celebrate in the goodness of God. Many blessings!
Hello Friend. Prayer for Fostering Confidence, Clarity, and Courage in the Workplace. Heavenly Father, we come before you today, asking for a fresh outpouring of boldness upon the men and women in our workplaces. Grant us the courage to be the light and salt of your love in the marketplace. Help us to share the message of Jesus with clarity and compassion, so that those around us may experience the hope that is found solely in you. Lord, we seek a revelation of Jesus as both the Lamb and the Lion. Let us understand that it is through embracing the gentleness of the Lamb that we discover actual authority in our lives. As we walk alongside Jesus, the Lion, may his bravery and strength empower us to face challenges and share our faith with confidence. We invite your Spirit, Papa God, to release through us a voice of love that echoes your heart to those we encounter. Help us live in the fullness of our identity as your sons and daughters, free from the chains of orphan thinking that bind us to performance-based acceptance and comparison. Break every fear of man and the dread of failure that holds us back, and replace it with the security found in your embrace. Father God, as we journey through our daily lives, remind us who we are—children of the Most High, rooted in your love and truth. May we grasp the depth of this identity and rise to impact our workplaces and communities with your grace. Empower us to be agents of change, spreading the transformative power of your love everywhere we go. In the name of Jesus, we pray for a revival in our hearts and workplaces, that the gospel may spread, the kingdom of heaven may advance, and we may fully reflect your light and share your love with our world. Amen.
