Welcome to the world of double-digits. Shout out all clefs! Let’s begin the process of rubbing. Guitarists - cover your strings’ ears. Bassists, don’t even think about throwing your bass up in the air. We’re going from Canada’s Walk of Fame, to a former music recording studio in Huntington, Long Island. While in Long Island, we’ll pick up our musical guest of the day.Our musical guest is Kyler Sane, a local music scene workhorse from the NYC & Long Island regions. Kyler’s done it all from a music standpoint. The touring. The big-hit releases. The festivals (producing & performing). The social media marketing domination. Welcome to episode nine: the single-digit episode finale. As we wave goodbye to the single-digit life, we’ll learn about the first time music was performed live on TV, a scandalous Beatles retreat in India, and the oldest operating recording studio in New York City. Being experimental is our thing around here. And if being experimental is your thing, well, strap in and try not to transcendent your face off.Our musical feature is from the legendary local band "Solemn Vision", a progressive melodic death band out of the Brooklyn/Queens/Las Vegas regions. We’ll listen to their song "The Soul Impaled”, which is off the band's LP: Solemn Vision, released in March, 2019. Anthony - their bassist - takes a moment while on tour with Australian melodic death metal band Be'lakor, to bestow wisdom on topics including the perfect hummus, what a successful band tour looks like, and the impact your art can have on people. Happy Pride! Shout out everybody. We love love. And wendigos. Class is in session. We discuss and learn about some openly queer musicians, and their permanent impact on the music landscape. Get your composition notebooks out for a very important lesson on what a PRO (Performing Rights Organization) is, and why all musicians should be affiliated with them. History class will take us back to the 13th century when a not-so-innocent pope dropped a new type of mass. Speaking of mass. Our musical feature is from "Red Mass Ritual", and we’ll listen to their song "Sometimes Dead is Better”. This song is off their E.P. “Burgundy Horror“, released on Halloween, 2024. Representing the band is Vinny - their guitarist - as he gives us his legal take on wendigos. Links below. Each episode will feature an independent musical artist.
