Because I felt like the only way I could have a good memoirs of felt like somebody was trying to take me down. Because, you know, my story is in my mind. It's like a tragic journey of, like almost being so close for so many times. But, you know, that's why I haven't given up hope because my time is still coming one day. I love that about you. I love that you you're still a believer in.(26:19) - What would you say the percentage was of how much was actually you and how much was a character you're playing? I'd say in the beginning it was just like kind of goofy, like just how I was more fun. And then when it started going darker, it was really forced. And you're you're just redoing things so many times in so many ways, and you're reading their beats. So the energy just becomes like a toxic frequency… I think I could have done it just like, you know, way sharper. Whereas people I would still say what I was saying, but like, articulate it so, you know, still be the bad guy, but just get better sentences out. So the audience didn't hate me for just being insane verses, oh wow, he's really sad. Who knows? It was an impossible situation.(48:20) - That's not just like a couple things you lost. Like you guys lost everything. Everything. And then back to the crystals. I put all of my money into crystals since 2008, and people joke about it like, oh, all my crystals could have been in a museum like I had museum grade specimens that were going up in value every year getting more rare. It was my kid's inheritance.(53:11) - I was forced because this lady, Karen Bass, who is rerunning who's probably, God forbid, if I didn't even step in, she was for sure winning and getting four more years. So if somebody had stepped up that, as they would say, has more experience and more qualifications and was saying all the truth about this mayor, I wouldn't even add again, I would just be focusing on selling my book, which is so much easier than trying to deal with running for mayor of Los Angeles. So the idea that, oh, I'm running for mayor to help my books, I can just do all these podcasts only about my book and not talk about you know, our city being destroyed. So, no, I do not want to be doing this. And it's it's kind of like, if I don't, then who will? Evil wins. Yeah, I look at it and and to me, at this stage in my life, it's I'm way more into the spiritual warfare era of my existence.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

And sometimes that starts with something as simple as what you wear. Shop in-store or online at macys.com!Apartments.com: The Place to find a place!EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS: (04:02) - So you originally were asked to be on season one, but you were like, let me get through and figure this out first. Yeah. How mature of you. Thanks. Well, I mean, I think it helped that I had just come off of, like, the whole swinging scandal and all of that. So you realize that all of that isn't really like what it's cracked up to be and like, what's worth it and what's not. And so I think I was very much like, jaded by the online scrutiny and all of that, that I'm like, I don't know that sacrificing my peace, you know, when I would just fought for my life for a few years and like, I don't know that I'm ready to subject myself to that again.(08:38) - Season three especially showed like real fractures, particularly between Letitia and Kate... But did you and Layla feel like pulled into that? Oh for sure, but there is a there's also so many other like components to that whole situation that it wasn't even necessarily just like, you know, the, the Kate in Latvia of it all… And so I think in order to really protect, like my co-parent relationship and like my own piece, I think like her relationship with Chase, like got to a point where I like, needed to like just set a strict boundary and just be like like, I don't want to hear about either one of you from either one of you, like, figure your stuff out. But like, I'm, I like it's too much for me because it was just hard because I would hear things from Kate, and then I would ask Chase about it and he's like, no, that's not at all what happened. (20:20) - I want to know if we're going to see more of your romantic life, like, is there anything you can tease in that area? Are you dating anyone? Do we get to see it? I'm not dating anyone… Yeah, I think I think that's exactly where I'm like, I feel for sure like the most authentic version of myself that I've been. And so I'm like, I and I feel at peace with like being single right now. So I'm like, I'm open to love, but I'm not really like, I don't really care enough. Right now to go, like out of my way to search for it.(24:24) - And then the swinging storyline, like obviously changed everything. Like, I don't want you to feel like I'm saying this for you to say yes. I'm curious, though, if you regret that chapter or if you're like, that's just how life goes and that's how it had to happen…(29:24) - There must’ve been like a tiny feeling of betrayal for? I mean, I'm asking you, I guess, were you already emotionally detached? To me, like it had nothing to do with the, like. Any feelings for Chase? Like, I was, like, so far beyond that at this point… Like, y'all can do, like what you want, but I'm, I like, I'm not giving you access to that headspace anymore. Yeah. And that's really what it was about.(30:57) - I want to know how Chase would feel if you were ever to become a Bachelorette. Because now we know we can have a crossover world of Mormon wives and Bachelorette. So. And I think fans are obsessed with the idea of you being the Bachelorette. So would what would he feel and would you ever consider it?... I don't know, I would be open to it for sure. I think it would be very like like I said, I don't have a ton of dating experience, so it would for sure be an intimidating experience for me, but I'd be open to it for sure.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

So I feel like it’s kind of for reality tv, cuz I’m like okay whatever.(7:37) - Does it ever feel limiting to be perceived as the emotionally mature one? Do you feel like you’ve always gotta be that? I do. I think last season probably because when it did come out I had just given birth. And so when I think sometimes seeing the criticism online being like, “oh she used to be my favorite but like, she’s actually just a mean girl”, I’m like okay. Certain things like that… you try filming 12-hour days while this pregnant.(8:44) - In season four we see - there’s always so many dynamics of course - but you wrote a book and it was very important to you. And some people showed up, and some people didn’t. Do you see more context and perspective now that you’ve watched back Whitney missing your book launch? Oh yea. And I can’t remember how that was edited.. I wasn’t upset at all. I don’t know if it was perceived that way, but I wasn’t upset at all in that moment, because Whitney called me crying the night before…(10:08) - Do you feel like it healed some wounds for you? I think for sure. I think - yea writing it over time, it was definitely difficult. Because when I was writing it we were filming too… sharing this story to help others is why I wrote this to begin with.(11:11) - I was in an abusive relationship, and then I went from that abusive relationship to another one where I got pregnant, and then my son’s father passed away when I was pregnant. And so going through the grief but also recovering from an abusive relationship… (40:08) - There’s a lot of coming of age stories, like I’m talking about making out with my boyfriend for the first time and what’s going on with my body and things that aren’t typically talked about. I think I shared it because yea it’s funny, it’s silly, but it’s also because growing up in a very conservative, religious household, it wasn’t talked about. Like I thought I was like dying or something. I was like what’s wrong with me? Am I gonna to die? #912. This week on Off the Vine, Kaitlyn is joined by stand-up comedian and internet funny guy Trevor Wallace—aka the man who perfectly captures modern bro culture, White Claw energy, and those unhinged thoughts we all have but usually keep to ourselves. He’s wildly funny, wildly self-aware, and somehow turned it all into a full-blown career.Trevor talks about starting stand-up at 17 with zero backup plan, the viral videos the internet refuses to forget, the cease-and-desist that changed everything, and the beautifully chaotic Notes app where his funniest ideas are born. They get into dating, random celebrity airplane encounters, their shared misophonia struggle, and just riff off each other nonstop the entire episode. You’re gonna laugh. You might gasp. You’re absolutely gonna text someone about it.Listen or watch now!If you’re LOVING this podcast, please follow and leave a rating and review below!
