In this thought-provoking conversation, I sit down with everyone’s favourite neurosurgeon, Dr. Lee Warren (also an author, and all-round deep thinker) to explore the transformative practice he teaches called self-brain surgery.Dr. Lee unpacks the science of neuroplasticity in a way that’s both accessible and faith-filled, helping us understand that our brains are far more adaptable than we realise. We talk about how intentional thinking, gratitude, and taking our thoughts captive can reshape our internal world and ultimately change how we show up in our external one. What I loved most about this conversation is how seamlessly he weaves together neuroscience and the hope of the gospel. It’s practical, deeply encouraging, and a reminder that we are not trapped by old patterns. There’s real healing available — and it begins in the mind.We talk about:✨ What self-brain surgery actually is — and why it matters✨ Why you are not defined by your past thought patterns✨ The power of neuroplasticity to reshape your brain✨ How gratitude can chemically shift anxiety✨ Using “thought biopsies” to challenge unhealthy thinking✨ Why chronic stress affects not just you, but everyone around you✨ How faith and neuroscience work together in renewal✨ Finding purpose and hope, even in seasons of deep sufferingConnect further with Dr. Lee:WebsiteSocials: @drleewarrenConnect further with Em:Substack | emtyler.com | Instagram | Facebook |  Email Interested in having Em come speak at your event? Book Em today! If you found this podcast helpful, please subscribe.Subscribe nowIf it would help someone you know, share it.ShareIf you found it a blessing in any way, you can show love by making a one time (no subscription!!!) donation below.One-off Donation This is a public episode. Loved this conversation with the fabulous ‘many-letters-after-her-name’ Jo Trickey about integrating faith, leadership, and everyday life.Jo shares her journey from a conservative perspective on women in leadership to embracing a broader view, highlighting how God’s presence is woven into every part of life—from work and motherhood to community and church. In this powerful and let-it-all-hang-loose conversation, I sit down with my friend Jonathon M. Seidl to talk about faith, addiction, and the kind of radical vulnerability that leads to real healing.Jon shares openly about his journey with alcoholism—how it began, what it cost him, and how Jesus met him in the breaking. We explore what sanctification really looks like in the messiness of everyday life, why addiction is ultimately a worship issue, and why none of us can afford to sin as a pet.Jon walks us through four practical steps toward freedom, and together we unpack the tension between obedience, trust, and the slow, steady work of being formed into Christ’s likeness. This episode is full of truth, hope, and encouragement for anyone who’s struggling—or loves someone who is.We talk about:✨ Why sanctification is slow, beautiful, and lifelong✨ How addiction reveals what (and who) we worship✨ Why “Aim for Jesus, get sobriety thrown in” is more than a slogan✨ The necessity of radical vulnerability and confession✨ Why sin can’t be managed, only surrendered✨ What mortification and vivification (vivi-what-now?!) look like in real life✨ The four key steps for breaking freeIf Jon’s story encouraged you today, let it remind you of this: Jesus meets us in the places we least want to admit we’re struggling. Addiction doesn’t get the final word—grace does. Whether your battle is with alcohol, fear, shame, or something you’ve never said out loud, freedom begins with bringing it into the light. Keep choosing vulnerability. Keep choosing obedience. Keep choosing Jesus. In this New Year’s episode, Dan and I pick up right where we left off — shifting from reflecting on what God carried us through to looking toward what He’s preparing next. This conversation is slower, honest, and full of expectancy as we talk about the kind of year we’re hoping to build with God. We explore the small signs of His faithfulness that give us courage for what’s ahead, the areas where we’re praying for clarity, and the practices we want to take with us into 2026.We share what it means to welcome a fresh start, how we’re learning to stay open to change, and why listening — really listening — is shaping our hopes for the year in front of us.We talk about:✨ What we’re hopeful for as we step into 2026✨ The ways God has been stirring new things beneath the surface✨ Why prayer and paying attention are shaping our expectations✨ The tenderness of transition and being gentle with ourselves as we grow✨ Where we’re asking God for guidance, courage, and clarity✨ How God works even when we don’t fully see the whole picture yetThis episode is an invitation to begin the year with openness, trust, and expectancy — knowing that God is already ahead of us, making a way. It’s not too late to join us! In this super fun conversation, the one-and-only Dan Tyler (aka my hubby) and I look back over the past year and name the moments, challenges, surprises, and small mercies that revealed God’s faithfulness in ways we didn’t expect. We talk about what it means to begin again with God—not from pressure or performance, but from a place of prayer, listening, and trusting that He is always doing something new. We share the lessons we learned through transition, the gift of community, and why slowing down enough to listen—to God and to one another—has shaped us more than any plan we could make. This conversation is fun, candid, and full of real-life moments, but also touches on deep, vulnerable places. It’s a reflection on growth, change, love, and the presence of God woven through it all. What a way to wrap up 2025!We talk about:✨ God’s faithfulness through unexpected challenges✨ The power of prayer and listening in seasons of change✨ How community supports us through life’s highs and lows✨ Being patient with yourself in transition✨ Seeing God’s hand even when it feels hiddenWhether you’re weary, hopeful, uncertain, or ready for a fresh start, this episode invites you to slow down, reflect with intention, and trust that God is already preparing the way ahead.Connect further with Em:Substack | emtyler.com | Instagram | Facebook |  Email Interested in having Em come speak at your event? Book Em today! This is a public episode. In this Christmas message, I share something that has been stirring in me throughout Advent: the truth that God still speaks — even when life feels painfully silent.I talk about a moment from years ago, a marriage proposal wrapped in silence, and how easily we can misinterpret quiet as absence. Waiting can feel heavy, confusing, even exhausting. But the more I sit with Scripture, the more I see that silence is never the whole story. God is a communicating God — always has been, always will be.In this episode, I reflect on the ache of waiting, the noise of modern life, and the fragmentation so many of us feel. And I look at Jesus — the One who is God’s final, full, and complete Word to us. The One who holds all things together when we feel like we’re falling apart. The One who brings clarity, peace, and presence into the places that feel dimly lit. This is an invitation to tune your heart again, to listen beneath the noise, and to remember that you don’t have to earn His voice. He is already speaking.I talk about:✨ Why God’s voice isn’t always loud, but it’s always present✨ Jesus as the complete revelation of God✨ Naming our feelings to calm the nervous system and make space for clarity✨ Receiving God’s voice as a gift, not something to strive for✨ Finding peace, connection, and holy attentiveness this ChristmasAs you step into the final days of this year, my prayer is that you’d experience a deeper peace — the kind that isn’t dependent on circumstances or noise or certainty, but the kind that comes from knowingGod is speaking, God is near, and God is holding all things together. If life feels fragmented, if waiting feels heavy, or if silence feels confusing, may this Christmas remind you that Jesus is God’s Word made flesh — the clearest revelation of God’s heart, God’s character, and God’s love. You are not navigating the dark alone. You’re being led, held, and spoken to — even here.Take a moment this week to pause, breathe, and let your heart become attentive again. His voice is closer than you think.✨ Join Me for 31 Days of Beginning AgainIf your heart is longing for a fresh start, for clarity, for renewal — or simply for companionship in the Word — I would love for you to join me (and others!) for 31 Days of Beginning Again, starting 1st January 2026.It’s a guided, daily Bible reading plan and journal through Scripture with each day designed to help you:Grow: feast on Scripture and encounter God’s Word in a way that speaks directly to your life.Glorify: notice God’s character, His faithfulness, and what He is revealing to you.Grapple: journal honestly about your thoughts, struggles, and discoveries.Gather: reflect in prayer, collating your thoughts to connect with God in conversation and surrender.Go: take one intentional step toward living out what God is teaching you, whether in attitude, action, or relationship. There’s a private group where we’ll walk through it together, share what God is saying, and build rhythms of listening and beginning again — not alone, but in community. If you’re ready for a reset, a re-centering, or simply a place to breathe again with God, please join us.
