We would say Happy Friday, but with the USL Championship's opening weekend in danger we aren't sure that it is one. MK is here to keep you updated on their CBA negotiations and get you through the potential strike ahead.
The Toledo expansion story we touched on earlier this week also seems to have legs. The city is aiming for a USL League One expansion side with a stadium plan. We also have stadium renderings in south Florida and we talk top Pablo from Club Eleven Magazine. Club Eleven is currently telling the story of their 12,000 mile road trip in a school bus turned soccer museum in a podcast series called The Soccer Odyssey.
Finally, we finish the show and #DotTheMap with our new members.
Check out the show live Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:30 AM ET on YouTube where you can join the channel and become an MK Ultra. Perks include access to our community Discord, early access to bonus video, priority commenting on the live show and much more.

It's another Hump Day on Morning Kickaround with Robert Kerr and Jason Davis.
Here's hoping the USL and USLPA can get over the hump in their negotiations with only two days remaining before the start of the 2026 regular season. They are meeting today, so the gang gets caught up on where the negotiations stand and what the outlook for this weekend's matches is.
In other news, Foxbrough found a solution to their security funding issue in the form of Robert Kraft spending a small fraction of his billions to cover the costs.
Also, Sporting Jax released some plans for a fancy looking new stadium in northern Florida.
Then, thanks to the generosity of the MK Ultras, we have a bonus segment touching on the Vancouver Whitecaps settling their Messi lawsuit, an actor trying to make his pro soccer dreams come true, and Sebastian Lletget heading to the USL Championship as both a player and owner.

In other news, the World Cup is still happening, even in light of certain events in the Middle East. How is that going to affect the world's soccer party this summer? Also, they give the latest on security funding in Foxborough and Los Angeles.
Finally, the Soccer Wars are still raging as MLS Next Pro looking to expand at an aggressive rate and more USL expansion rumors surffacing.

"Happy" Friday from Morning Kickaround!
We sadly ahve a lot of bad news to close out this week, starting with the USL Players' Association authorized a strike should they not come to an agreement before the season begins next week. How serious are they and what are they asking for to call off thier threat?
Also, the town of Foxborough is asking FIFA for money to cover security and public safety costs for their World Cup matches. FIFA, as you would expect, is penny pinching their way through this.
We are then joined by Alex Ashton from League One Updater to shed some more light on South Georgia Tormenta's financial trouble and other League One issues.
The show ends on a high note by dotting the map and, because our viewers came through with a fundraising goal, a review of new NWSL kits for the 2026 season.

Jason is manning the mic himself on this hump day edition of Morning Kickaround, but that doesn't mena he doesn't ahve a ton to discuss.
He opens with MLS and their search for Don Garber's successor followed by confirmation that South Georgia Tormenta is officially shutting down less thant wo weeks beforew they were supposed to take the field in USL League One.
It's also another edition of Countdown to Kickoff with AC Boise as they are only ten days away from playing their first competitive match in Sarasota. Brad Stith joins the show to take another look at the stadium they've put together and what's left to do before their home opener on April 4.

Monday, Monday, Monday... Morning Kickaround is here to help you survive it.
MLS Opening Weekend was not short on storylines. Messi confronted the officials after Inter Miami got smoked by LAFC in front of more than 70,000 fans at the LA Colisium. The Red Bulls youth movement scored a win in Michael Bradley's coaching debut. Diego Chara also set another milestone with the Portland Timbers
Outside of MLS, the World Cup Fanfest in New Jersey is no more and there was a lot of madness in Mexico this weekend after the death of a major drug cartel leader.
Finally, we pay our respects to South Georgia Tormenta, who abruptly folded over the weekend. What went wrong in southern eorgia and how can it be a lesson for future clubs striving to succeed in USL League One and beyond?

Friday is here and there is only one more sleep until MLS returns for 2026!
The nation's top tier league begins its final summer season this weekend with 15 games throughout Saturday and Sunday. Instead of breaking down what to expect on the pitch this season, MK examines where MLS stands in the overall American sporting scene. How mainstream is MLS and do we wish it was more center to American culture? Also, in lower league news, Jozy Altidore is getting involved in the OKC USL expansion project to add more star power to that ownership group.
We then welcome Corpus Christi FC head coach Eamon Zayed joins the show to shed some light on his club making the jump from amateur to pro as they are 22 days away from the start of their first season in USL League One.
Entrepreneur Brian York is trying to speed run building a USL expansion club for the state of Massachusetts. Is this a good idea? How quickly can you actually build a soccer team? Jason digs into this story and analyzes what it actually takes to start a whole new team.

Monday is here and so is Morning Kickaround! And there's less than a week to go before MLS kicks off the 2026 campaign!
In our final show before Kick-A-Thon 2026 we open with some rocky stadium news out of the Nutmeg State. MLS Next Pro expansion side CT United's stadium plans remain unfunded with no solution in sight. MLS also has a strange new partnership with Polymarket as they look to capitalize on the growing trend of prediction markets.
Chris Wilson then joins the show to get us up to speed on USL League Two for 2026 season. We talk about the schedule, fortmat, clubs, and much more.
Finally, Robert and Jason answer a Super Chat question about soccer in the deep south.

Clang the Clanger! It's Friday and there is pro soccer expansion news!
D.C. United is submitted a proposal for a 12,000 seat soccer stadium in Baltimore. It's almost as if they were listening to Morning Kickaround on Wednesday when we mentioned Baltimore as a strong candidate for a pro club. In other expansion news, MLS in Indy may be dead.
We then get into the weeds of the USL labor talks with soccer lawyer
Andrew Visnovsky to get his perspective on how the talks are going and where they could lead.
Finally, before dotting the map for the week, wwe discus the business side of MLS. They are drastically changes its website staff, the AppleTV deal is entering a new era, and more.

Welcome to Wednesday morning, let's kick it around with Robert Kerr and Jason Davis.
Plans for the World Cup are going predictably awry, particularly in Massachusetts. Foxborough is threatening to withhold entertainment licensing for the event should they not receive promised security payments from FIFA. Also, will ICE dampen World Cup celebrations? WIll Mauricio Pochettino still be the USMNT head coach at the World Cup? Rumors are swirling that Tottenham will try to re-hire him now that they are without a manager.
On the plus side, MLS clubs are getting richer and more valuable, with Inter Miami leading Sportico's club valuation list for the first time.
It is then time for another edition of Countdown to Kickoff, this time with Ryan Pritchett from their River Guard, AC Boise's supporters group.

Morning Kickaround has the perfect cure for your Super Bowl Monday hangover, and it's all about figuring out what it means that MLS spent boat loads of money during the January transfer window.
The USA's top league moved the fourth most dollars in the world this winter, but what does it actually say about the league?
Also, what are the top places in this country without pro soccer and how are the USL CBA negotioations going?
Finally, Jamal Fayyad from Rio Grande Valley Red Crowns joins the show to shed some light on soccer in the southernmost areas of Texas and his clubs ambitions to join The League for Clubs and their planned pro-am ranks.

The weekend is nigh and Robert Kerr and Jason Davis are here to kick you into it!
There was some rough news on the USL expansion front. Ozark United and the Buffalo expansion project are both experiencing delays in stadium construction. Both are on track to start... eventually. On the more positive front, Denver Summit tickets are selling like hotcakes for their first NWSL season.
New York Cosmos CEO Erik Stover and their headline signing Sebastian Guenzatti then join the show for another edition of Countdown to Kickoff with only 36 days until their first match.
Finally, we #DotTheMap with a grab bag of topics, including MK merch designs and highlighting our newest MK Ultras.

The week rolls along with Morning Kickaround!
The USL CBA negotiations are, technically speaking, rolling along as well, though not much progress is being made and USL CEO Justin Papadakis has some interesting things to say about the players in his league. ALso,
what questions do we still have for the USL's version of Promotion and Relegation?
The Concacaf Champions Cup heralds the return of American men's clubs for 2026. We welcome Jon Arnold to the show to get us up to speed on the tournament.
Fianlly, James Rodriguez was once a hot name in global soccer and now he's looking at a move to Minnesota United. Is this the right move for the Loons?

Morning Kickaround is back for the return of top-level men's soccer in the USA!
San Diego FC's season begins tomorrow when they host Pumas UNAM in the Concacaf Champions Cup. Is anyone excited for this tournament and how will it evolve when MLS changes their calendar?
Also, the Ricardo Pepi move to Fulham appears dead in the water, Josh Sargent could still move, and several Americans are playing well for their European clubs, notably Weston McKennie. The USL may have announced their Premier division and promotion/relegation plans, but their players are still upset at the lack of healthcare and a new CBA.
Finally, the Vancouver Whitecaps are struggling with their stadium situation on the Pacific coast of Canada. What is next for the defending Westetn Conference champions?

Welcome to a Morning Kickaround Friday with Robert Kerr and Jason Davis!
John Morrissey joins the show to get his views on the USL Premier announcement, the timeline for promotion/relegation, which clubs will go to the top tier, and so much more.
Before John joins us, the gang examines Mauricio Pochettino's decree that his players should stick to soccer and not comment on "political" issues like the price of World Cup tickets. Also, Crystal Dunn announced her retirement from soccer after a short, but very successful career in the NWSL, France, and for the U.S. Women's National Team. MLS is altering its proiduction for MLS Season Pass as it moves onto the main AppleTV platform. Is cutting Spanish language production and shiffting some English broadcast teams overseas really a great idea?
Finally, we #DotTheMap of American soccer with our latest MK Ultras.

The cold snap continues, but Morning Kickaroud is keeping the hot soccer talk coming.
Robert Kerr and Jason Davis speculate about how MLS is suddenly part of the country's America 250 celebration after initially being left out of the party before digging into some German talk about a World Cup Boycott. They also digest the state of USL's planned first division roughly one year out from the initial announcement.
They then bring on Daniel Sperry of the Kansas City Star to dig into the details regarding the sale of Sporting Kansas City and other happenings on KC as they enter a new era for the club.
