I've been noticing so many people I've been speaking to that are going through a closing of an old chapter and a beginning of a new chapter. For example, one is relocating to New York for a new job opportunity. Another is closing a business. Another knows she needs to change something for work but doesn't know exactly what to step into next.We go through different seasons and chapters of our lives..and even on a more micro level, we reset everyday, every week, every month or quarter. It's only fitting that we anchor these blocks of time with rituals that help ground us. In this episode, I give you my daily rituals, weekly rituals and bigger resets that help me audit different areas of my life and create new things.Whatever area of life you might be focusing on right now, these rituals and resets will help you move into the next thing feeling bloody good.AND The Core Club's new 21 Day Core & Calm Reset starts on the 20th of October and is now open for registration. This week I'm delving into a solo ep all about why changing just your 'mindset' won't work. Don't get me wrong, mindset is important. And at a foundational level, yes, of course changing your mindset does work to some degree. But for lasting change in any area of your life, we need to go a bit deeper than that.Beyond your actions, thoughts and beliefs is your unconscious. This is where your unconscious patterns live, within your unconscious blueprint. And beyond that, we have your energy or frequency that you give out (or your vibe)...and beyond that consciousness. This is why your need to embody changes rather than just understand them conceptually or think them with your conscious mind.Yes there's layers and I unpack them all in this episode! This week I'm sitting down with the lovely Elise McCann, Australian actress, star of Beetlejuice the Musical and co-founder of the motivation app Hey Lemonade.Elise very generously shares her personal experiences around dealing with imposter syndrome and feeling the pressure of not being enough - even though she went on to finish law school, got into NIDA (really known as Australia's best drama school), went on book starring roles across theatre and television. We peel back the layers of why imposter syndrome affects so many of us, along with perfectionism and the useless pursuit to end up at place called 'perfect' that doesn't exist. We also tuck into her motivation app Hey Lemonade, which she co-founded with her friend and fellow actress Lucy Durack. It's an app that's like your best friend with a psychology degree. It offers bite size pep talks for those of us who are time poor and need a little reframe and lift to shift our mood and perspective, spoken by the voices of some of the biggest names in entertainment and lifestyle like Janine Allis, Maggie Beer, Virginia Gay, Benjamin Law and so many more.Hey Lemonade was also the winner of the 2024 Telstra Business Awards for NSW and is also widely used across the corporate and school sectors to provide solutions for stress and motivation challenges in education and workplace settings.Take a listen to a beautifully raw and real chat with the lovely Elise and tell us what insight it may have brought up for you, by leaving a comment, rating and review wherever you listen to your pods.Find more on Elise at:IG: https://www.instagram.com/elise_mccann/TikTok: http://tiktok.com/@elise_mccannHey Lemonade: https://heylemonade.com.au/https://www.instagram.com/heylemonade_official/Find more on Rach at: IG: http://instagram.com/rachjay__ TikTok: http://tiktok.com/@rachjay_ Website: http://racheljay.co Eat Beautiful: http://eatbeautiful.co Get on the VIP Glow List: https://mailchi.mp/977ba9259d39/vip-glow-list
As we enter into a new month and a new season, this week I'm tucking into a solo episode and I want to drop in with something real, something a bit raw. We’re talking about the trap of perfectionism and the pressure to be performative. I’m not here to give answers, but to open a door maybe even hold up a mirror.Everyone’s been through something. Big, challenging, painful. You, me, our guests and we’ve all carried something heavy. What’s wild is how those experiences shape us… stretch us… and if we let them, they build us.Just like training. Time under tension. That’s how growth happens. It’s uncomfortable. It hurts sometimes. But it also forges resilience, clarity and truth. That’s how strength is formed, not just in the gym but in life.So this week's invitation is to ask yourself, 'Am I performing or am I present?'.Also, if you've been following along on socials, I've been dropping hints about what's to come for Eat Beautiful. This week, we welcome back the lovely Michael Ramsey, co-founder of Strong Pilates. Rams was first on the pod back in 2022 and so much has happened in the world of Strong since then so we got stuck into a little catch up and update. Whilst I may be a bit biased because I genuinely love the workout and have been friends with some of the lovelies up in HQ, having been in the pilates space for a long time, it’s been really amazing to watch the evolution of Strong from pre-conception way back in 2018, through to the global expansion that the brand is currently going through today. Truly the black sheep of the pilates space, Strong has developed a concept like no other and continues to innovate and pave the way for strong presence in the UK, Asia and now the USA. In this ep, Rams and I get stuck into; The importance of client experience How to create a client experience that keep people coming back for Rams’ secret to constantly staying ahead of the game Creating a Strong brand identity, visual presence and tone of voice Creating a cohesive brand experience across cultures The biggest lesson for entrepreneurs in the start up phase Rams’ biggest lessons around scaling a business Rams’ approach to leadership and leading a team Balancing business and wellbeing Plus so much more! This week, I’m coming to you with a solo ep all on letting go of the need to control (which I know we all have from time to time) and how to have a more stress free life! There’s so many things that I can reflect back on in my life that have been completely unexpected, both amazing and also challenging. The problem is that usually when something unexpected happens and we consider it to be awesome – we call that a surprise, but when something unexpectedly ‘negative’ happens, we usually label that as bad. And when things don’t go the way we thought or how we’d hoped, we want to control it to match the outcome we had imagined in our minds. Same with people. We sometimes expect people to be a certain way, behave a certain way or do things in the way that WE would do them. Not how they would do it. So, in this ep, I delve into the awesome Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins. This is a life changing approach that when applied to life, you’ll notice stress, tension and emotional entanglement disappear!   IG: http://instagram.com/rachjay__ TikTok: http://tiktok.com/@rachjay_ Website: http://racheljay.co The Journal: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DP2TMQNF?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzrachel0c-22&creativeASIN=B0DP2TMQNF&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.34T0JF3Y9AY86&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin Amazon Book List: https://www.amazon.com.au/shop/rachjay__   The post Letting Go of Control: Embracing What Is with The Let Them Theory appeared first on RACHEL JAY.
