The seasons are turning — though you may not yet see it.In early February, the land sits in a quiet threshold. The light is returning, but winter has not fully released its hold. In ancient traditions, this liminal period was marked as Imbolc — the quickening beneath the surface, the first subtle stirring of new life.In this episode, I reflect on how the higher self journey mirrors these natural rhythms. Spiritual development is not linear. It moves in cycles of withdrawal, reorientation, expression, and integration — just as the earth does. What if silence is not absence? What if dormancy is not failure? What if the turning happens long before the evidence?Drawing on seasonal archetypes, equinoctal shifts, and the intelligence of liminal time, this episode explores why growth cannot be rushed — and why depth has its own timing. It was through contemplating these natural cycles that I recognised something important about this podcast as well. If the higher self journey is seasonal, then the container for this dialogue must honour that rhythm too. What You’ll Discover· The Higher Self Has Seasons: How silence, confusion, and withdrawal are integral phases of spiritual maturity.· The Quickening Beneath the Surface: Why transformation often begins before we can see or articulate it.· Honouring Natural Rhythms: Why spiritual dialogue — including this podcast — must move in cycles rather than constant output. This episode is an invitation to notice the season you are in, to soften your expectations of constant growth, and to trust that something may already be turning — even if it has not yet bloomed.Episode ResourcesPlease share the Higher Self Dialogues on your Socialswww.higherselfdialogues.com Hosted on Acast. The Doomsday Clock has moved closer to midnight again. At the end of last year, I spent some time reflecting on what the upcoming announcement might reveal about the state of the world –– not as a prediction, but as a mirror. Now that the announcement has been made, this episode returns to that question, and sits with what it may really be showing us.Today I explore what it means to live in a time of escalating risk without collapsing into fear or despair, and how a higher self perspective invites a more mature, grounded response to power, responsibility, and uncertainty.Rather than focusing on catastrophe, this is a reflection on consciousness — personal and collective — and the quieter choices that shape our shared future. What You’ll Discover· The Doomsday Clock as Mirror: Why the clock reflects our inner state as much as external threats, and what it reveals about how we live with power.· Beyond Fear and Polarisation: How reactivity and “us versus them” thinking quietly accelerate the very dangers we’re worried about.· Growing Up as a Species: What this moment asks of us individually — not heroics, but maturity, restraint, and inner alignment. This episode is an invitation to slow down, look more deeply, and consider how the smallest ways we meet uncertainty may matter more than we think.Episode ResourcesJoin the Conversation on Discord → Join our communityFollow Higher Self Dialogues on Socials → Facebook Page (more channels coming soon)Learn more at higherselfdialogues.com Hosted on Acast. The world's been feeling more chaotic than ever lately - rapid changes, unsettling headlines and I've found myself searching for that thread of hope beneath it all.In this episode of The Higher Self Dialogues, I reflect on these shifting times and the quiet peace I sense emerging. We explore how old structures are crumbling to make way for humanity's deeper yearning for connection, equity, and shared prosperity and why tuning into your higher self can guide you through with clarity and courage. What You'll Discover- The Chaos as Catalyst: How today's upheavals aren't just endings - they're clearing space for a new chapter rooted in peace and collective well-being. - Hope in the Headlines: Why the fear we feel is real, but so is the underlying push for a world that honours our shared humanity. - Higher Self as Anchor: Simple ways to listen inward for compassion and strength when the ground feels shaky. This episode reminded me that peace isn't passive - it's the force reshaping everything, if we let it. If you're feeling the weight of the world, give it a listen; that faint hope might just grow louder.Episode Resources: Join the Conversation on Discord → Join our communityFollow Higher Self Dialogues on Socials → Facebook Page (more channels coming soon). I’ve been feeling the winter chill here in London – dark days, icy snaps across Europe and it got me thinking about the small, warm lights we find on the spiritual path. In this episode of The Higher Self Dialogues, I explore one of those underrated gifts: the soft release that comes from embracing unremarkableness. In a world pushing us to "be someone" and shine on social media, what if just existing – without the pressure to stand out – is closer to our true self than we realise? I share why this quiet joy feels like a gentle invitation to let go, and how it’s always been there, waiting beneath the noise. What You'll Discover - The Pressure to "Be Someone": How social media and modern life make us chase visibility, and why stepping back from that can feel like coming home. - Unremarkable as Freedom: The soft joy of public ordinariness – being a "nobody" in the world's eyes and finding it's more than enough. - Letting Life Be Enough: A simple invitation to pause and feel the release of not striving, just for a moment. This episode is my gentle nudge: the higher self isn't always about becoming more – sometimes it's about remembering you're already whole.Episode Resources: Join the Conversation on Discord → Join our communityFollow Higher Self Dialogues on Socials → Facebook Page (more channels coming soon). I’ve always been fascinated by people who push their limits in extreme places, and Martyn Williams is one of those rare souls who’s done it all – then turned those experiences inward. In this episode of The Higher Self Dialogues, I sit down with Martyn, an explorer and expedition leader with stories that’ll take your breath away. We talk about how facing the frozen unknown in polar regions mirrors the inner journey to your higher self, the clarity that comes from those make-or-break moments, and why embracing uncertainty is the real secret to living with more wholeness, strength, joy and bliss. It’s a conversation that got me thinking about my own path, and I hope it does the same for you. What We Explore - Extreme Adventures as Spiritual Teachers: Martyn shares how polar expeditions force you to confront your limits, revealing insights that echo the higher self journey. - Clarity in the Chaos: The moments of presence and awakening in life-or-death situations, and how they help cut through everyday noise to connect with your inner strength. - Embracing the Unknown: Why uncertainty isn’t something to fear but a doorway to greater wholeness, authenticity, and meaning in tough times. Martyn’s wisdom is a reminder that the biggest discoveries often happen when you step into the wild – whether that’s a frozen tundra or your own mind. If you’ve ever wondered how adventure shapes the soul, this one’s for you. What if the moments that feel like confusion, chaos or wandering are not detours at all but the path itself? In this episode, I reflect on the early years of my own inner unfolding - a time that, back then, didn’t feel like a journey of any kind. There was no sense of spiritual seeking, no clear intention, no language for growth or awakening. It felt like stumbling from one event to the next, reacting, surviving, and trying to make sense of life as it happened. And yet, looking back now, I can see something very different. What felt directionless was quietly structured. What felt like chaos was actually movement. Something was unfolding beneath the surface long before I had the awareness to recognise it. What I Explore The Illusion of Directionlessness: I reflect on how early stages of growth often feel empty, messy or unremarkable and why that doesn’t mean nothing meaningful is happening. Unconscious Spiritual Development: I explore the idea that many of us are on a spiritual journey long before we ever choose one consciously. Curiosity as the First Breadcrumb: I share how questions, anomalies and moments that didn’t “fit” my worldview quietly pulled me forward - not through certainty, but through not knowing. Growth Without a Map: Why spiritual development rarely comes with clear milestones, frameworks or shared language and how that makes it easy to mistake growth for disorder. The Hidden Scaffolding: Using the metaphor of a seed germinating underground, I explore how change can be real and alive even when it’s completely invisible to us. Confusion as a Guide: Rather than something to escape, confusion often becomes the very thing that keeps us moving, asking, and opening. Looking back at this period now, I feel a deep tenderness for that version of myself - walking blindfolded along a road I didn’t even know existed. And I suspect many of us have our own version of this: years that only make sense in hindsight, moments we later recognise as thresholds we didn’t know how to name at the time. If you’re in a phase that feels unstructured, disconnected or strangely quiet, this episode is a reminder: the journey doesn’t always announce itself. Sometimes, we only realise we were on the path once we’ve travelled far enough to look back and see it. As 2025 ends, I explore a subject that sits at the intersection of world affairs and spiritual evolution: the Doomsday Clock. Set each year by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, the clock symbolically reflects humanity’s proximity to global catastrophe. But beyond its political and scientific significance, it also invites a deeper question - what does the state of world peace reveal about our collective consciousness? With a touch of seriousness and a surprisingly light spirit, I look ahead to how the clock may be adjusted for 2026. From escalating geopolitical conflicts to paralysis within international institutions, I examine what pressures may push the clock closer to midnight. And in contrast, I consider the idea that humanity is still free to learn, change course, and step back from the brink. What You’ll Reflect On The Clock as Metaphor: How a symbolic “time” can shape public debate and moral responsibility. Conflict and Consequence: Why recent wars and weakened accountability systems may influence this year’s decision. Humanity’s Spiritual Freedom: Why the possibility of catastrophe is not fate, but an opportunity to learn, change, and choose differently. The question of whether the clock moves forward or backward isn’t just a geopolitical forecast - it is a mirror for the choices humanity is making every day. This short micro-episode arrives with a simple wish for the season - a peaceful Christmas, in whatever form or tradition it holds for you. Alongside that greeting comes a quiet reflection inspired by the Danish spiritual writer Martinus, and the deeper symbolism often hidden within the holiday. Rather than a religious idea, Christmas can be understood as a universal archetype: the birth of a higher consciousness within us. Not a story outside of us, but an inner event that unfolds every time we grow, deepen, or recognise something truer about who we are. Each insight, each new awareness, however small, becomes its own “Christmas moment” - a quiet arrival of our higher nature. What You’ll Reflect On The Universal Christmas: Why the spirit of Christ is not limited to religion or belief, butspeaks to a universal inner principle. The Birth of Higher Self: How every moment of growth or understanding is a form of inner awakening. A Year of Subtle Blossoming: Why even the smallest steps toward wisdom are worth celebrating. May this season mark another gentle unfolding of your own inner knowing. What if the “higher self” we search for isn’t something outside us, but who we already are? In this episode, I explore a common idea in spiritual growth: the belief that our higher self is a separate guide, presence or voice we can only occasionally access. We often imagine it as something above us, wiser than us, or somewhere far from our everyday identity. But over time, a deeper truth reveals itself - the higher self is not a different being we meet, but the fullest version of ourselves we remember. Through this reflection, I look at how separation turns into familiarity, how the voice of guidance becomes recognisably our own, and why what once appeared “beyond us” slowly dissolves into unity. What You’ll Explore The Illusion of Distance: Why our higher self can feel separate, distant or “other” and why that’s part of our growth. The Softening of Boundaries: How the voice of guidance gradually becomes our own inner voice. Union Over Attainment: Why the higher self isn’t something to reach for, but something we return to. This episode is a gentle reminder that the deeper wisdom we look for is not waiting outside us, but unfolding within us - always here, always ours. I’ve noticed something lately: the moment I say “higher self,” some people flinch. That single word “higher” suddenly feels loaded - like I’m sneaking in hierarchy, superiority, or spiritual one-upmanship. And honestly? I get it.In this episode of The Higher Self Dialogues, I dig into why “higher” triggers discomfort in so many of us right now, and why after wrestling with it myself I’ve decided not to ditch the term. What You’ll Learn- Understanding the Flinch: How I get how “higher” can rub the wrong way, and the cultural moment that’s making us allergic to anything that smells like power.- Higher ≠ Better: Why I see it as expanded perspective and bandwidth, not rank, and why the ego hates that distinction. - Discomfort Is the Door: The exact moment your higher self shows up, it exposes every bias you have about spirituality itself. That friction? It’s the point. What happens when a die-hard physicalist who explains everything with brain chemistry and physics, wakes up to a glowing figure at the bottom of the bed… In this episode of The Higher Self Dialogues, I pick up the thread of my own spiritualawakening exactly where I left it: the morning after a clairvoyant session when the promised “spiritual guide” actually turned up. No breaks in consciousness, no dream haze - just a full-on encounter that shattered every neat, materialist explanation I’d clung to for years. What You’ll Learn The Moment Everything Changed: How one undeniable visitation forced me, a lifelong sceptic to admit: “My worldview doesn’t actually explain this.” From Physicalism to Open Inquiry: The quiet decision that changed everything: to stop explaining away anomalous experience and start taking it seriously. Your Story Matters Too: Why I’m openly inviting you to share your own encounters because the spiritual journey belongs to all of us. This is the pivot point: the night the Higher Self refused to stay politely theoretical and stepped, glowing and unapologetic, into the room. If you’ve ever had an experience you couldn’t file under “coincidence” or “imagination”, this episode is for you.Episode Resources: Join the Conversation on Discord → Join our communityFollow Higher Self Dialogues on Socials → Facebook Page (more channels coming soon).Learn more at higherselfdialogues.com Hosted on Acast. Under a full and clear November sun in Fulham Palace’s ancient walled garden, surrounded by wisteria, pear trees, and the occasional curious bee, something quietly magical unfolds. In this episode of The Higher Self Dialogues, I sit down with Rev. Alison Chisholm Trower - a OneSpirit Interfaith minister, poet, and facilitator of the monthly One Light Gatherings in Notting Hill. We explore what it really means to stay “screwed in like a light bulb” when life feels like the front seat of a cosmic rollercoaster: exhilarating, terrifying, and rarely in your control. What You’ll Learn Staying Screwed In: Why the spiritual path isn’t so much about always reaching calm, but remembering you’re the light even when everything wobbles. Holding Your Nerve: How the spiritual journey is often so much about just showing up through the ups, downs, and loop-the-loops of life. One Light Gatherings: How a monthly circle in Notting Hill creates a space where people can simply be, breathe, and remember they’re not alone on the ride. This conversation is warm, honest, and a gentle reminder that sometimes the most powerful spiritual connection is just what happens when two friends in a garden reassure each other: “Hold your nerve. Keep showing up. Bless everyone’s hearts.” OneLight Gatherings Onelight Gathering circles usually happen the second Tuesday of the month at:Essex Unitarian Church, Palace Gardens Terrace, Notting Hill Gate, W8 4RT. 7.30pmUpcoming Dates: Dec 9th, Jan 13, Feb 17, Mar 10, April 14Email: lostpropertyart@yahoo.co.uk Next One Light Gathering: 9th December, 7:30pm, Essex Unitarian Church.Online Details: Facebook Page Rev. What if the path to a trillion dollars isn't a spiritual sin, but a stark reflection of the world we've all chosen to build? In this episode of The Higher Self Dialogues, I grapple with Elon Musk's headline-grabbing deal and the dawn of the first trillionaire - not through moral outrage, but a higher self lens. Diving into inequality's roots, the sovereignty in every transaction, and how extreme wealth mirrors our inherited systems, this reflection challenges us to question: What choices sustain this reality, and what must we shift to envision something more equitable? What You’ll Learn Sovereignty's Shadow: How every dollar funneled to titans like Musk stems from collective choices in governments, corporations, and consumption - revealing our complicity in the status quo. Beyond Moral Absurdity: Why spiritual reality sees no inherent "wrong" in trillionaire wealth, but invites us to honor the human cost and dream of freer access to life's resources. A Mirror for Change: This phenomenon as a wake-up call - what it exposes about our time, and the archetypal forces urging us toward a world of shared abundance over aggregation. This episode is a gentle yet probing invitation to pause amid the headlines: extreme wealth may divide us on paper, but from the higher self, it unites us in the sacred work of reimagining what's possible. I continue to recount my astonishing 2005 session with Joy the clairvoyant - my first and only brush with psychic reading. A lifelong doubter wary of divination, I sat perplexed as Joy revealed childhood memories, recent bedside encounters, and a guardian presence promising direct contact. I share the warmth, tears, and energy healing that Joy brought, plus the cryptic message that surfaced later. What You’ll Learn Embracing the Unexplainable: How to hold space for experiences that defy rationalisation without forcing belief. Recognising Internal Resonance: Practical steps to distinguish genuine spiritual recognition from suggestion or emotion. Navigating Worldview Shifts: Ways to let curveball moments adapt your beliefs rather than dismiss them outright. This episode is a reminder that sometimes the greatest proofs arrive not as thunderbolts, but as gentle, undeniable warmth - inviting us all to stay curiously open. --- Episode Resources: Join the Conversation on Discord → Join our communityFollow Higher Self Dialogues on Socials → Facebook Page (more channels coming soon).Learn more at higherselfdialogues.com Hosted on Acast. What would happen if, instead of celebrating bonfire night with fireworks and sparklers, we used it to burn away the illusions that hold us back? In this episode, I explore the symbolic power of fire as a tool for letting go and why this Bonfire Night is the perfect moment to release the myths around “abundance”. So much of modern spirituality tells us that wealth and success are simply a matter of believing and manifesting. But what if that story is incomplete? I look closely at why the popular abundance narrative can lead to false hope, distorted goals, and a misunderstanding of spiritual detachment. By putting these illusions on the fire, we make space for a more grounded, honest, and soul-aligned sense of abundance - one that isn’t measured by material success but by inner fullness, clarity, and connection. What You’ll Learn The Fire of Transformation: How symbolic rituals like bonfire night can help us consciously let go of what no longer serves us. The Illusion of Abundance: Why the modern abundance narrative often creates false hope and spiritual guilt. A Truer Abundance: How releasing illusions allows us to align with a deeper, steadier sense of richness and meaning. Bonfire night isn’t just a date on the calendar - it can be a doorway into clarity and renewal. When we let illusions burn away, what remains is something quieter, truer, and far more enduring. --- Episode Resources: Join the Conversation on Discord → Join our communityFollow Higher Self Dialogues on Socials → Facebook Page (more channels coming soon).Learn more at higherselfdialogues.com Hosted on Acast. What if a single, inexplicable moment could change how you see the world forever? In this episode, I return to the Tale of Two Clairvoyants for part two - a story woven from journals, memory, and a sense that something just beyond the ordinary is trying to be heard. I pick up where the last chapter ended: a strange and vivid morning experience, a chance connection with old friends, and two separate clairvoyant messages pointing to one person. What follows is an extraordinary six-hour encounter that leaves sceptic me unable to simply write it off. What You’ll Learn When the Unexplainable Knocks: How unexpected experiences can challenge deeply held beliefs. The Sceptic’s Dilemma: Why even the most rational minds can’t always explain what happens. Opening the Door to Mystery: How one encounter can shift a lifetime’s way of seeing the world. This isn’t about proof or belief. It’s about the space in between - where logic falters, and something unknown takes shape. --- Episode Resources: Join the Conversation on Discord → Join our communityFollow Higher Self Dialogues on Socials → Facebook Page (more channels coming soon).Learn more at higherselfdialogues.com Hosted on Acast. What if the hardest part of telling your story isn’t what happened, but where to start? In this episode of Higher Self Dialogues, I share a moment that changed everything. Through my lens of journals, archives, and long-buried encounters, I revisit a mysterious message and how the universe was trying to get my attention. What You’ll Learn Finding Your Beginning: How choosing a starting point can shape the story you tell and the way you see your own journey. Memory and Meaning: Why documenting your experiences can offer clarity, grounding, and unexpected insight years later. Messages and Moments: How small encounters can carry profound significance when viewed through the lens of awareness. How do we stay human when the world feels divided? In this episode of The Higher Self Dialogues, I step into one of the most emotionally charged issues of our time – immigration – and explore it through the lens of the higher self. Moving beyond the politics, policies, and headlines, this conversation looks beneath the surface, past the noise and fear and reconnect with the shared humanity at the heart of the debate. Through reflective inquiry, research, and spiritual insight, I explore how divisive issues like immigration can become opportunities for growth and deeper understanding. What You’ll Learn Beyond the Surface: Why immigration isn’t just about numbers or borders, but about identity, belonging, and shared humanity. Higher Self in Action: How to stay grounded, open, and compassionate when faced with polarising or painful world events. Bridging the Divide: Practical ways to move beyond “us versus them” thinking and approach complex issues with wisdom and balance. At its core, this episode reminds us that even in times of tension and fear, we have the capacity to respond with clarity, empathy, and integrity. The higher self isn’t distant or abstract – it’s the quiet strength that guides us towards connection, understanding, and hope. How does a hardline materialist end up on a spiritual path? In this new series of Higher Self Dialogues, I begin by sharing my own story of transformation, one that kicked up a notch in 2005. At that time, I saw life largely through a materialist, physicalist lens - everything explained by science, reason, and logic. Yet what unfolded was an unexpected journey, at times painful and at times exhilarating, that led me toward spirituality, the higher self, and a radically new way of seeing reality. This season is not only about telling my personal story, but also about weaving it together with the experiences of others who have faced similar inner storms. From the collapse of old belief systems, to the search for meaning, to the discovery of something like a “holy grail,” my journey shows just how disruptive and how transformative an inner awakening can be. What You’ll Learn The Spiritual Turn: How a deeply materialist worldview unraveled, opening the way to higher self and transformation. Crisis as Invitation: Why inner change so often feels like crisis, and how confronting doubt and disbelief can deepen self-understanding. Collective Resonance: How personal awakenings, though unique, often mirror archetypal patterns that connect us all. This is more than one story - it’s a mirror for anyone navigating change, doubt, and discovery. A reminder that while transformation can feel isolating, we are never truly alone on the path. In this final episode of Season 1 of The Higher Self Dialogues, I turn to a question that feels both strange and inevitable: could artificial intelligence, perhaps our most physicalist creation, actually assist in humanity’s spiritual awakening? From the corridors of data science to the deep inner paths of being, I reflect on how AI, born from a worldview that excludes the soul, might paradoxically become a doorway to the soul’s recognition. Not because it contains spirit itself, but because it may force us to confront what physicalism leaves out - and what we've left behind. Is it possible that AI will help humanity revise its deepest assumptions about reality? Could it assist in developing new ways of knowing that finally include the spiritual? And what might it mean for our collective future if, through AI, we are pushed, not away from spirit but closer to it?This episode holds the paradox: that what seems furthest from the spiritual might become a mirror to it. That the path forward may not be to destroy the old world, but to let it reveal its limits, and in doing so, prepare for what comes next. Hosted on Acast.
