Description

In 2020, we noticed that while mom blogs, secular dad podcasts, and more general helps were plentiful, there was a lack of resources for Christian dads who wanted to grow. Feeling the need to grow as Christian dads, we started this blog in an effort to share the lessons God was teaching us. Reading blog posts is great, but we know dads are busy. You may not always have time to sit down and read—but you can listen while driving, working out, or even doing the dishes. We want this to be a place where we can dive deeper into these topics, share personal experiences, and have honest conversations.

"When it comes to parenting priorities, I think that prayer has got to be at the top of the list. In parenting, we don’t work hard and then pray that God would take it the rest of the way, as if God picks up our slack. Parenting begins each day and ends each day on our knees. I think most Christian dads would agree with me on this…at least in concept, but it doesn’t always play itself out in our prayer life. Perhaps that’s because we don’t actually believe it, or maybe because we don’t know how to pray for our kids" - John DalrympleArticle: https://www.growingfathers.com/jesus-guide-to-praying-for-your-children/--------------------------------------------------Email: podcast@growingfathers.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/growingfathersInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/growing.fathers/Website: https://www.growingfathers.com/

"Dads need friends. Not football buddies, or golf partners, or even 'family friend' dads you chat with while your kids play in the yard—though all of those could be candidates. You see, we often use the word 'friend' to describe our common-interest acquaintances when what we really need is 'battle brothers' who know our worst and hope in Christ for our best. Christian fathers need the rare treasure of active, godly friendships. Hobbling along in your Christian life without them could be spiritually fatal." "What is a Christian family? Is it a family that attends church regularly? Is it a family that prays before each meal and talks about Jesus on occasion? Is it a family that abstains from certain vices or follows a few set principles for life? Is it a family whose children land good jobs and live decent lives? Or is it a family that has family devotions on a fairly consistent basis?"In this episode, John and Kris tackle these questions from John Pate's article "What is a Christian Family?"Article: https://www.growingfathers.com/what-is-a-christian-family/--------------------------------------------------Email: podcast@growingfathers.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/growingfathersInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/growing.fathers/Website: https://www.growingfathers.com/#parenting #growingfathers #biblicalteaching
