An aspiring lawyer Mike McDermott loses all his money when he decides to bet it all in an underground poker game with Russian mobster Teddy KGB. After promising his girlfriend he’d give up the game, he is lured back after his scam artist friend Worm gets out of prison. After Mike vouches for Worm for the debts he left behind when going in prison, the two of them have to scramble to get the money together. After the two get caught working together at a cop card game, they lose all their money again. An Army Ranger goes home for leave and meets his wife at a bar. He’s then immediately forced to defend himself against three gooners and winds up killing one. Sure enough the judge gives him 7 years for self defense. After 7 years of working out, he’s given parole but he has to take the trip home on a plane full of lifer convicts. The convicts take over the plane pretty easily but instead of leaving when he has the chance, he decides to stay behind so he can make sure his house mate gets some insulin.
