For four days, CL053T worked on Solomon, to save his life, as Solomon was stuck in a bizarre dream state. When he awoke, his body was covered in scars, his right eye had been replaced with an augmetic, his legs were clearly not his own and had been gen-hanced. Talos Ivo was recovering too, but of course without his legs. As Solomon recovered, Morgan spoke with Valentyne through her servitorized astropath. He reminded her that she could always threaten Judge Rex’s family if he won’t follow orders, and she called Damien in to have the inquisitor confirm that Valentyne himself had indeed sanctioned their mission and that the psyker was crucial. The band fought and destroyed the massive Spyrer Amberlin. Morgan used the password Hydra Dominatus to access the throne room where two Drukhari bearing symbols of the Kabal of the Bladed Cage held Darius and his Astropath hostage. As they reached an impasse with words, the Archon suggested a duel between the Incubus and Solomon. As the two fought, Morgan called Romeo in to stealthily observe the rest of the room. The servitor identified two hostage adepts of the Mechanicus working on what appeared to be a wraithbone arch, but the purpose the arch—whether as an escape path for the Archon or an entry point for Deamons—could not be determined. The agents flew across the battlefield in their stolen Aquila Lander toward the crash site and their Heretek target, only to spot several Khornate cultists already there, pulling people out of the wreckage. At the crash site, the Inquisitorial agents discovered that their target, Talos Ivo, was gone and the Arbitrators were on their way to the hive to locate the Khornate cultists. Morgan suggested they disguise themselves as cultists and move quickly and covertly to get ahead of the Arbitrators and find the Heretek first. The inquisitorial band trudged through the battlefield wasteland, heading toward the northernmost hive of Arcturus IV, in the hopes of retrieving their Heretek target, Talos Ivo. At a checkpoint into the underhive, they were forced to prove they were in fact Khornate cultists. To avoid carving the symbol of Khorne into their own flesh, Morgan grabbed the flight officer they had saved from the wreckage, and carved the symbol into her instead. Inside the Flensing House, Damien fought and seriously wounded the Flayed Man, while outside, Larsa Quinn was killed and Arbitrators joined the fight against the Flayed Guard. Having escaped the Flensing House, the band took a short rest to treat their wounds and regroup, now in the company of two Arbitrators and a soldier. The Judge’s wounds were severe, but only after Morgan pressured him, did he allow Damien to heal him with powers from the warp. Solomon, meanwhile, noticed the Judge having a private conversation with Damien and returning healed, and so began to record evidence of his companions’ tendencies towards heresy. The agents made their way toward the Jumentierre Estate, and found improvised Valkyrie fliers that would give the Crimson Brothers advantage in the fight. The area was guarded by two Hereteks and a swarm of servo skulls, so Morgan opted for a stealth approach. She sent data from a nearby cogitator to CLO53T, who confirmed that Talos Ivo was meant to be on one of the ships, but when the Judge and their seconded Arbitrators shots at the Hereteks, the servo skull swarm suddenly broke their surveillance pattern and set their sights on the agents. The Inquisitorial agents fought to gain entrance into the nearby ship. When Morgan entered, she came face-to-face with a chained up and bloodied Talos Ivo, who was quite cheerful about his impending rescue. Solomon took it upon himself to protect Talos throughout the chaos, and Talos’s guileless charm may have helped forge a burgeoning friendship with the brother. Judge Rex made it onboard after sustaining some serious injuries, and as they took off, Damien hurled warp fire at the refuelling station, blowing up the Crimson Brotherhood’s ships and their chance to mount their planned assault in the planetary war. The band made it off Arcturus IV alive with the target, their first mission a resounding success. Finally back aboard their ship, the Lucky Strike, the agents secured Talos Ivo, and received healing or augmetic repairs. When they retired to their separate spaces to rest, Morgan instructed CLO53ET to build a small chapel on the ship, and wrote her report on the mission and her comrades to Valentyne. Damien returned to his quarters to self-flagellate. In speaking with Avarice, the Judge learned that Talos Ivo was a heretic in the eyes of the Mechanicus because of their rules forbidding experimentation on Gellar fields, but he is not technically a heretic according to the Lex Imperialis. Brother Solomon was left alone to find peace in the words of his truncated bible. The Lucky Strike entered the warp. As the Lucky Strike entered the warp, the crew’s sleep was disturbed by nightmares. As Damien slept, he saw the daemon, Kestrel, who was responsible for first igniting his psyker abilities, and accidentally used his powers in reality, thereby weakening the Gellar field. The rest of the crew woke up to alarms alerting them of the field’s instability. Morgan protected CL053T as the servitor attempted to stabilize the field, Damien set his bed aflame as he continued to sleep, Judge Rex began attacking the Deamonettes who appeared on the ship, and Solomon saw a vision of the Judge attacking an innocent woman and turned on him. So far, Morgan is the only one who has seen through the deceptive visions borne out of the warp.
