In our second dive into LEGO Castle history, we discuss the first five official factions and the sets that introduced them in the 80s and early 90s: Lion Knights, Black Falcons, Forestmen, Black Knights, and Wolfpack. Which is your favorite classic faction?
Kenton and Nate discuss all the latest set releases, as well as a few that have been announced for 2026. It’s been a busy summer for LEGO Castle fans!Note: we realized after recording that the Majisto's Workshop GWP from 2023 featured the Dragon Knights faction, not Black Knights.
Join us for a chat with Chris Tromans (@minimodularguy on Instagram)! Chris has made over 100 miniature versions of official sets from several themes, including Castle, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Winter Village, and much more.Hear about Chris’s LEGO journey, his design process, and some of the challenges of recreating sets at a much smaller scale. Check out his Rebrickable page, too, if you’d like to build any of his designs! https://rebrickable.com/users/christromans/mocs/
In our first dive into the history of LEGO Castle, we go all the way back to where it started: the yellow castle from 1978. A castle that opens up, a working drawbridge, brick-built horses, and one of the very first sets with minifigures—what’s not to like? Kenton and Nate also consider several smaller sets from the early days of LEGO Castle, as well as some more recent tributes to these classic sets.
