In this episode, I sit down with Gabi Varga, trauma-informed personal trainer, to explore how movement can be a tool for healing, not just fitness.
We explore how unprocessed trauma and emotions can stay stored in the body, and why reconnecting with yourself through movement, creating safety in exercise, and letting go of the “no pain, no gain” mindset are key to true healing.

Gabi Varga is a Trauma-Informed Personal Trainer. She's been a fitness coach for 21 years. She started her journey as a group fitness instructor in her home country, Hungary. She continued that path in Montreal, later she became a personal trainer after moving to her current city, Vancouver.
Her own experience with being in emotionally abusive relationships, and obsessive exercise put her on the trauma-informed path and decided to pivot her angle and help people who need a more gentle approach to movement.
Her love for somatics led her to discover a fitness approach that builds both emotional and physical resilience.
She helps people to become better connected to their bodies and they recognize that, a safe space, autonomy, and supportive environment that may be the missing piece for many.
