In this 12-part narrative limited series, host Josh Dean investigates the shooting of Henry Jemmott, a senior Belizean Police Officer, by a Canadian property developer named Jasmine Hartin. Shootings are not unusual in Belize. Shootings of cops are, and Jasmine is part of one of the most powerful families in Belize. This is the biggest news story in a generation.
Over twelve 40 minute episodes, Josh speaks to Jasmine, her inner circle, and a wide spectrum of Belizean locals, journalists, and expats as the investigation into Henry Jemmott's death unfolds in real time — from the week of the shooting on May 28, 2021 to the present day. The story gets right into the craggy depths of Belize: its corruption, its quirks, and the fascinating life of its most powerful person, the dual nature British business titan Lord Michael Ashcroft.

The only detail that makes zero sense about this story is that there is no universe in which the magazine release is capable of firing a bullet. Glocks are pretty simple and the two mechanisms (magazine release and firing mechanism) are totally unrelated.
Hey! I've got a bunker, too. Having a backup plan doesn't make you crazy...right? 😉
I just finished the latest episode of 'White Devil,' and I have to say, it's been one of the most compelling listens I've had in a while. The storytelling is sharp and engrossing, and the host’s insights are both thought-provoking and enlightening. https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/eeaca980-cae8-4320-ac85-60a9eadf75c4/episodes/da689775-e697-4471-a9fb-fa6a4a6dd3b3/packaging-calgary-future-of-biodegradable-custom-packaging
Will the death on the island ever be covered again? What an utterly unfocused mess
you lost me on episode 6. it had nothing to do with the story and was not necessary. what did it have to do with anything really? you should have stopped with five episodes. on another note all five episodes were great.
It’s really about lord Ashcroft, innit?

They keep pounding privilege, but the truth should be what we are after.
I read this is Campside Media's 1st Podcast, and they absolutely NAILED it!! The host has a great delivery and the story was broke down well. Loved it. Please put out another!! I have wanted to go to Belize for a while to dive, after listening about the corruption and how the law works ( or doesnt work), how the " government " does not take care of their own. I would never go. too much crime.
"I don't read the New York Post". Your bias is showing. Of course you can't read everything, but the way he said it, says it all.

The world needs easy marks, welcome! He never lost his way he is just a taker moving from one to the next able to spread a good story to the gullible
Maybe this is not the first time Morimoto has disappeared like this.
"not exactly appealing" is one helluva euphemism for slavery and ending up in the population of disposable people.
This was a brilliant podcast !
I wasn't expecting much out of this because I usually like murder mysteries. I have to say, this is one of the most well crafted podcasts I've heard. The development of multiple themes around the central disappearance investigation is so skillful. I like learning about culture as well as how the investigative process is unfolding. Just outstanding.
