Charles Augustus Milverton is the worst man in London, at least according to Sherlock Holmes. After an alarming update from Mr. Hilton Cubitt, Holmes and Watson make their way to Norfolk to see him, but they are tragically too late. Both Mr. and Mrs. Cubitt have been shot, and only Mrs. Cubitt remains alive, though just barely. It's time for Holmes and Watson to take on a new case, and this is a big one. Mr. Hilton Cubitt, of Norfolk, has come to them with a series of mysterious messages that he has recently received, consisting of childlike drawings of dancing men. The messages have frightened Cubitt's wife out of her wits, but he can't figure out why. Holmes and Watson make their way to Norwood to see Inspector Lestrade's new, "final," evidence in the case of the murder of Jonas Oldacre.
