Description

Redoctoring is a podcast for disillusioned and burnt out doctors aiming to expand and celebrate medicine beyond the traditional linear path.

Many doctors feel trapped, isolated and burdened by the reality of medicine in South Africa-sacrificing their humanity for the title. This show solves that by normalizing the many routes available to clinicians.

Guests will include a variety of people who specialised, pivoted or left the field.

Unlike other shows of its kind, it aims to vulnerably share stories and provide resources so the listener can make informed career decisions.

I didn’t get the job — and honestly, I needed that. In this season finale of Redoctoring, I reflect on my recent interview for a corporate medical role that didn’t go the way I hoped. But behind the “no” was a clear message: corporate medicine is a world of its own — with its own rules, language, expectations, and pace. In this episode, I unpack what I learned, what I’ll do differently, and why this ‘failure’ might’ve been the best teacher yet. Whether you’re considering a corporate pivot or just curious about what it’s like on the other side of the hospital walls, this one’s for you. The growing reality that even the most “essential” professionals in society are now unemployed. In this episode of Redoctoring, I’m saying the quiet part out loud: doctors have been entitled to job security for too long, and now that it’s gone, we don’t know how to respond — or how to communicate the crisis in a way that makes people care.Let’s talk about how to reframe this moment. This episode is a wake-up call for the profession and a rallying cry to rebrand our messaging — not just for us, but for the communities we serve. If we want to march to parliament and be heard, we need to speak a language people can rally behind.Redoctoring is a podcast for doctors redefining success, identity, and life outside the traditional medical path.📌 Connect with me:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/redoctoring/profilecard/?igsh=MW9iZHplMDh1MHR6cA==TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@redoctoring?_t=ZM-8whcn0tltzi&_r=1YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@RedoctoringNewsletter: coming soon!
