Have you ever felt like you were not enough - not pretty enough, thin enough, or enough enough?
You will never be all that the world demands you to be - it's impossible. Just ask curve model Ashley Reitz, who struggled for years with feeling overlooked, frizzy-haired, round-faced, and chubby. Her insecurity, disordered eating, and weight issues derailed her happiness and set her on a treadmill of constantly trying to be enough and never succeeding.
Even after Ashley grew up, graduated from beauty school, and launched a successful international modeling career, it took overcoming some painfully dark circumstances to provide her with the needed clarity and strength to confront her deeply rooted insecurities. She realized she had to surrender daily, actively seeking her acceptance and finding her worth in Jesus alone. Finally she realized the truth: She was already beautiful.
And so are you! Join Ashley as she explores topics of confidence, beauty, positive body image, and the maddening - and futile - pursuit of perfection. Like an encouraging friend and sister, Ashley speaks truth and healing into your life as you:

Title: The Formative Years of an African-American Spy
Author: Odell Bennett Lee
Narrator: Doug Johnson
Format: Unabridged
Length: 7 hrs and 46 mins
Language: English
Release date: 12-07-17
Publisher: LCCI
Genres: Bios & Memoirs, Personal Memoirs
Summary:
This story traces the childhood experiences of an African-American CIA officer.
Poverty and racism were lesser evils than the Cinderella-like experiences in his dysfunctional family. He endured the volatility of a no-nonsense mother who used the rod at his slightest infraction, and the loathing of two stepfathers that sought to isolate him from the family. Through adversity and chance, at an early age he learned to decouple his self-image from his turbulent childhood experiences. More importantly, he learned to keep a cool head in the face of antagonistic and ambiguous situations, and he refused to let others define his personal worth.
At 16, he dropped out of high school to join the US Navy. He welcomed the navy's carefully constructed value system that demanded teamwork, courage, and personal confidence. On his 17th birthday, he was sailing across the Pacific Ocean to such far off places as Japan, Hong Kong, Guam, and Australia. He discovered that the world was very different from the one he had known, yet he felt safe for the first time in his life.
After the navy, friends and colleagues convinced him to complete his education. He received his high school diploma at age 23 and attended undergraduate school at the University of California, Los Angeles, and graduate school at The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. He worked for several international businesses before coming to the attention of the CIA. The CIA offered him a unique opportunity to serve his country that he could not refuse.
Unlike most books about the CIA, this one is deeply personal and offers an insight into the mind of an African-American spy. Learning from his positive and negative experiences proved essential to his success as a case officer in the covert services of the Central Intelligence Agency and helped him formulate a rewarding philosophy of life to live by....

Title: Woman in the Wilderness
Author: Miriam Lancewood
Narrator: Lucy Paterson
Format: Unabridged
Length: 11 hrs and 21 mins
Language: English
Release date: 11-23-17
Publisher: Little Brown
Genres: Bios & Memoirs, Personal Memoirs
Summary:
'My life is free, random and spontaneous. This in itself creates enormous energy and clarity in body and mind.' (Miriam Lancewood).
Miriam Lancewood is a young Dutch woman living a primitive, nomadic life in the heart of the mountains with her New Zealand husband. She lives simply in a tent or hut and survives by hunting wild animals, foraging edible plants and using minimal supplies. For the last six years she has lived this way, through all seasons, often cold, hungry and isolated in the bush. She loves her life and feels free, connected to the land and happy.
This book tells her story, including the very practical aspects of such a life: her difficulties learning to hunt with a bow and arrow, struggles to create a warm environment in which to live, attempts to cross raging rivers safely and find ways through the rugged mountains and dense bush. This is interwoven with her adjustment to a very slow pace of life, her relationship with her much older husband, her interactions with the few other people they encounter, and her growing awareness of a strong spiritual connection to the natural world.

Title: Drowning in Plain Sight
Author: Len Parsons
Narrator: Millian Quinteros
Format: Unabridged
Length: 45 mins
Language: English
Release date: 11-17-17
Publisher: len parsons
Genres: Bios & Memoirs, Personal Memoirs
Summary:
This is my latest work. In a dream I had one night, I was writing a book that really meant nothing to me. It was just a book. I couldn't even remember the title. Then God said, "If you are going to write a book, here is the title, the cover, and the list of topics to cover. My people need this book!" This is the book from the dream.
Drowning in Plain Sight is about keeping your head above the waters of life. This is a short and powerful audiobook that just may save you or someone you love from going under. These are all true stories of real issues that have taken friends from their comfort zone and into the danger zone so quickly that they didn't see they were drowning in plain sight.
I remember nearly drowning when I was a kid. It was in a pool with the life guard sitting right above me. He didn't see me drowning in plain sight. It was so much like drowning in sin, emotional depression, and fear. There were people all around me, unconscious to my plight, watching me go under for the last time. Then my dad came, jumping in clothes and all, to save his child, just like Jesus did for me. "From the water lifted me, /now safe am I"!
I have often reflected on this experience and cannot help but see parallels to it in the 52 years I have been privileged to live on this earth since that event took place. I cannot help but see the many times I nearly went under for the last time, but my Heavenly Father has rescued me just in time. I compare drowning in my story to people being caught up in the waves of emotions and situations that too often cause them to go under, even when surrounded by people who care. Sometimes the waters were composed of fear and doubt, often times discouragement and depression were about to take me down, but God has always gotten to me just in time.
In this audiobook, I share real stories of friends who have or have nearly drowned in plain sight.
