But first, a few updates on the big NBA fight and a shoutout to the Commanders for their gesture to the decimated Washington Post. Jordon Hudson wore a totally wild tee-shirt that took a shot at Patriots owner Robert Kraft, and a new video of Tom Brady and Alix Earle from Super Bowl week just dropped. Now, Olympics! Team USA hockey beat Canada, and Laila Edwards made history as the first Black woman to represent the U.S. women’s hockey team at the Olympics. Madeline and Charlotte are back with a jam-packed episode! First, the Hornets and the Pistons got into the biggest fight since Malice at the Palace in 2004 — four players were ejected and will probably get suspensions. And then the Hawks-Timberwolves got into a fight right after that! Then, what you’ve all been waiting for: a recap of the gals’ Super Bowl trip and experience at the Thom Browne show for the GQ Bowl. They admit that they had vibes-based blindness towards the Patriots and Charlotte is going through the seven stages of grief after New England lost. Things discussed include Stefon Diggs and rapper Cardi B’s alleged break-up, Tom Brady and Alix Earle potentially canoodling again, Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton dating, offensive lineman Will Campbell’s injury, Sam Darnold’s Super Bowl win after mono eight years ago, and Mike Macdonald. And Bad Bunny’s amazing halftime show made up for everything! Now, Olympics! Ice dancing drama continues: Madison Chock and Evan Bates didn’t score as high as people wanted, and the French team is still in first. Skier Lindsey Vonn had another awful crash and released a statement. The USA pulled off a curling upset, won gold in the team ice skating event, and US women’s hockey faces Canada today. Team USA’s Breezy Johnson also won gold after Vonn crashed out. Also, several speed skating crashes occurred and there is drama going on about the ice itself. Hosted on Acast. Madeline and Charlotte are back, this time live from Super Bowl LX! Or XL? Tough to say! Tom Brady had a weird time on his couch with his Instagram stories, and Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton were spotted in Paris together. Unrivaled set a record for women’s basketball attendance with its huge Philly crowd, and Kylie Kelce gave star Paige Bueckers all the fixins’ for a Shirley Temple after the two talked about the drink on Kelce’s show. On a broadcast, Reggie Miller compared Caitlin Clark to Payton Pritchard — and she was understandably not happy about it. In final basketball news: a Giannis trade!?It’s looking good for Jordan Chiles receiving her 2024 bronze medal. Singer Benson Boone is playing in the flag football game at the Super Bowl. Robert Kraft will not be in The Hall of Fame this year, his first year of eligibility. Madeline and Charlotte are back with a complete timeline of the reasons people are saying Bill Belichick will not be a first-ballot Hall of Fame inductee this year. The gals go through a timeline of Spygate, Deflategate, and Belichick’s relationship with Jordon Hudson and his disastrous season with UNC. Is there a simple answer to why Bill Belichick was left off? And does it have to do with PR, yet again? Listen to find out! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Madeline and Charlotte are back, and before they get into any sports drama, they want to make it clear that they stand with the people of Minnesota and Maine and are very anti-ICE! The list of athletes who’ve spoken out is not quite as long as it should be. In lighter news, Charlotte’s Patriots will be in the Super Bowl against the Seahawks! The gals will discuss more on a Thursday episode about WAGs and off-the-field SB storylines. Olympic track and field star Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is expecting her first baby, and the “Heated Rivalry” stars were Olympic torchbearers. The full story is wild. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Madeline and Charlotte are back with a complete timeline of the Beckham-Peltz family feud. Brooklyn Beckham sent the internet into a frenzy when he posted many slides on his Instagram Story detailing all the reasons he and his wife, Nicola Peltz, no longer want to be associated with his soccer star father, David Beckham, and pop-star-designer mother, Victoria Beckham. The gals dive into the history of the families (including some shocking news about Nicola Peltz’s father) and why this whole thing is a total PR disaster. Hosted on Acast. Madeline and Charlotte are back with a jam-packed episode. It starts out with an update on Jordon Hudson, the long-lost President of the SGS Universe, because she hung out with Alix Earle at the National Championship in Miami. Was Tom Brady there? Yes. Indiana QB and new National Champ Fernando Mendoza gave a LinkedIn-like interview and the gals couldn’t love it more. Then: NFL stories about Nick Foles (IFKYK), and why men are painting their nails and crying in the locker room (good!!) thanks to the Bears’ Caleb Williams and the Bills’ Josh Allen. Plus: a Boston Corner about Mike Vrabel and hirings and firings involving John Harbaugh, the Giants, the Bills, and more. The big reveal: The gals are pretty sure they found Aaron Rodgers’ wife, Brittani, and her sisters Mia and Kristi — Kristi is married to Aaron’s friend the rapper mike., and you’ll have to listen to find out the big SGS theory. Also, Gary Betman said he binged Heated Rivalry in one night. And, finally, the drama that occurred when Senegal beat Morocco 1-0 at AFCON. Hosted on Acast. Madeline and Charlotte are back with an episode that dives into all the vibes you need to know about for this jam-packed football weekend. From the Patriots’ immaculate vibes with Mike Vrabel and Drake Maye (and the WAGs playing mah jong together), to the Bears immaculate vibes with Ben Johnson (the Joe Mazzulla of the NFL) and Caleb Williams, to the Bills’ fragile vibes, this episode explains it all. Plus: A special college football segment about the vibes and off-the-field antics of Indiana University and The University of Miami. The gals talk about who IU quarterback Fernando Mendoza and Miami quarterback Carson Beck would be on The Traitors, and dive into the best quotes from IU head coach Curt Cignetti. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Madeline and Charlotte are back from the Patriots game and will have a full, vibes-based prediction episode on Thursday for the NFL Playoffs and College Football Championship! Bengals QB Joe Burrow was at a Golden Globes after party, and Jaxson Dart has a new girlfriend, Netflix ring girl Marissa Ayers. She posted 20 photos of them from throughout the season – is it the hardest launch of all time? Former Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was fired, and it seems like it was dramatic. Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers lost, and the gals wonder how long we have until he starts a podcast. The WNBA and WNBPA have agreed on a moratorium for league business, which isn’t great. Tiger Woods is hosting a 300-person invite-only party for his 50th birthday at The Breakers in West Palm Beach, sponsored by a consulting firm with Bon Jovi performing. Brooks Koepka is returning to the PGA Tour, and there is a lot of drama in the Ottawa Senators organization. Finally, the NBA suspended the Kings’ Dennis Schroder for three games after he tried to confront Luka Doncic for making fun of his poor business decisions. Hosted on Acast. There’s been a lot of talk online lately about how Tom Brady is using Instagram. He’s been posting lots of shirtless selfies, many strange AI-generated illustrations with motivational quotes, and he was recently seen with the social media personality Alix Earle. All of this is occurring while his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, has been posting about the new baby she just had with her new husband, Joaquim Valente. Madeline and Charlotte dive into all of this from a perspective only they can. Charlotte covered the Patriots and has chronicled Tom Brady’s online activity since he first joined Facebook in 2014, and Madeline got her masters at Oxford in analyzing celebrities' social media accounts from a sociological perspective. The gals dive into the history of Brady’s Instagram and conduct an in-depth, qualitative analysis of every single in-feed post Brady has shared since the divorce announcement. They decode the way he’s been using social media since separating from Gisele, and come to find that his experiences are more universal than one might think. Hosted on Acast. Happy New Year everybody! Madeline and Charlotte are back in THEIR NEW STUDIO (!!!) and couldn’t be more excited. Tom Brady and Alix Earle were spotted getting cozy in St. Barths over the holidays. The gals have a lot of thoughts, and are planning an episode devoted to Tom Brady’s recent shenanigans for Thursday — you don’t want to miss it! A few athlete wedding/proposal round-ups: soccer players Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis got married, as did Brazilian superstar Marta and former player Carrie Lawrence. Bucs wide receiver Emeka Egbuka proposed to Notre Dame soccer player Laney Matriano. Were the flowers compressed? Listen to find out!The Lane Kiffin saga continues, as the former Ole Miss and current LSU head coach keeps spreading drama while Ole Miss advances in the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers are in the playoffs after a crazy game against the Ravens. The gals realize they’re rooting for him, because it might mean they finally catch a glimpse of his mysterious wife Brittani. Jaylen Brown shared a video salsa dancing with Victoria Monet on his Twitch, then dropped 50 on the Clippers with her sitting courtside. Azzi Fudd posted an end of year round-up without her girlfriend Paige Bueckers. Does it mean anything? Canadian singer Tate McRae and NJ Devils star Jack Hughes were spotted out in New York again. And, in international news, Australian rules football player Lachie Neale stepped down as co-captain of the Brisbane Lions after dropping the news that he and wife Jules have separated — and it was his fault. Madeline and Charlotte are back with a special Christmas Day episode, because the NBA gave The Sports Gossip Show a present! The gals open a very special gift from the league and talk about the NBA stars playing on Christmas based on who they’re married to or dating. Listen to this while you clean up wrapping paper, or pop in some headphones if you need a little break from your family ;) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Madeline and Charlotte are thrilled to present the first ever Sports Gossip Show Awards. Happy holidays and a happy New Year to all of the Shareholders out there. SGS would be nothing without you! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Madeline and Charlotte are back with a complete gossip breakdown of the end of the Chiefs’ season — technically, there are several more games, but Kansas City is officially out of the playoffs — and Taylor Swift’s new documentary. The gals dive into quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ injury, Travis Kelce’s comments about the end of the team’s playoff dreams on his show New Heights, and talk about Taylor Swift going to the most recent game with Kylie Kelce, podcaster and sister-in-law of Travis. Then it’s time to get into the insane parallels between how Taylor Swift runs her operation — as seen in The Eras Tour documentary — and how NFL teams operate. The gals have thoughts about the narrative Taylor is trying to get across in the documentary, and why the whole project is a political and feminist statement. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Madeline is back from the Galapagos and Charlotte is in a very exciting undisclosed location when it comes to The Sports Gossip Show (all will be revealed in due time)! The gals dive into the massive scandal surrounding former Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore. He was charged with third-degree home invasion, stalking, and breaking and entering after he was allegedly at the home of the woman with whom he had been having an affair. Moore was fired, but it’s only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Michigan Scandals in the last three years — Charlotte reads a list of the worst ones, and the gals talk about what Michigan can do moving forwards. Then it’s time for an LSU head coach Lane Kiffin yoga update, and Heisman-winner Fernando Mendoza gave the most adorable public-speaking-class speech of all time. Philip Rivers returned to the NFL to make his first start in five years with the Colts at the age of 44. Rivers has ten kids and is a grandfather!UNC head coach Bill Belchick went to another one of his girlfriend Jordon Hudson’s cheerleading competitions and also fired a bunch of his staffers. And, finally, professional golfer Ben Griffin married his wife Dana Myeroff in a “refined tropical luxury”-themed wedding in Palm Beach, Florida. Were the florals compressed? Listen to find out! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Madeline and Charlotte are back to answer lots of the questions that their Shareholders sent in for this very special mailbag episode! The gals talk about the state of sports media, the fact that only 18% of sports podcasts are hosted by women, how they met and why they started this show, and what advice they’d give to anyone who wants to get into this business. They also answer questions about which athlete couple they would cast in a rom-com, who what they do with gossip that is too salacious to share, what will happen in the saga of Aaron Rodger’s wife, Brittani (whom no one has seen), their favorite stuff to travel with, and their gift guide for people who are still doing some holiday shopping! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Madeline is in the Galapagos (extremely cool) so Charlotte is flying solo today with some help from Sports Gossip Show friends Grace Raynor and Jessica Smetana! Grace is a college football writer at The Athletic and Jess is the co-host of The Echoes, a Notre Dame podcast. They are both brilliant and SGS Shareholders should follow them if you don’t already!First, a monologue from Charlotte: Lena Dunham went to a Chiefs game with Taylor Swift (and Selena Gomez), but the Chiefs’ vibes are bad! They’re 6-7 and below .500 for the first time in December since 2012. Stanford soccer invited Taylor Swift to the women’s college cup game in Kansas City — she didn’t seem to go, and Florida State won anyway. Washington Spirit star and NWSL free agent Trinity Rodman had a deal blocked by the NWSL commissioner. Silly! Pay her! And, finally, Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers went to a Knicks game on behalf of Reese’s. Then it’s time to bring in Grace to talk about Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin’s breakup, and how Nick Saban’s daughter teased a messy Lane Kiffin story on TikTok. She also explains the shockingly good recruiting under Bill Belichick at UNC, the bad recruiting at Penn State, and a whole lot of other dramatic CFB stories!Jess then pops in to explain the College Football Playoffs and why people were apoplectic when Notre Dame was left out. This is a great explainer for anyone confused about college football — Jess makes it make more sense than it deserves to make. Thanks to Jess and Grace and all of the Shareholders out there! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Madeline and Charlotte start the episode off with exclusive news about LSU head coach Lane Kiffin’s departure from Ole Miss. Also, Kiffin left his dog in Mississippi — but was it actually his dog? Plus: screenshots have surfaced of DMs Kiffin sent to women in Oxford, and people who took hot yoga classes with him are very glad he’s gone. Today in “your company is not your friend!” news: The Clippers abruptly sent NBA great Chris Paul home? And he’s no longer on the team? The gals have a lot of questions about what the Clippers were thinking here. The WNBA and WNBA players association pushed the deadline for a new collective bargaining agreement back to Jan 9. The W proposed raising the salary for players but they plan to cut team housing, as well as pushing the start date of the season up. The WAGs of the Patriots do seem to actually like each other! Former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and Patriots owner Bob Kraft are on the same ballot for the HoF, which means they could have to stand next to each other at the ceremony even though they seem to hate each other. Jordon Hudson filed a weird FOIA request. And, finally, Venus Williams is engaged to Andrea Preti! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
