Can YOUR Georgetown Hoyas win a Big East Tournament game (aside from the '21 miracle run) for the first time since 2016? Are the Hoyas primed to make a push from worst to first? Plus, answering your big questions ahead of the BET.
We're back! After the St. John's loss, discuss where we are in this disappointing Georgetown season, evaluate a good effort against the Johnnies, and dive into an interesting metric from Evan Miya indicating the importance of roster talent (but perhaps not the full story), including the one big question Coach Cooley should be asking to evaluate what needs to change moving forward.
After a disappointing effort against Butler, we are back with some reflections on the game and Cooley's comments from the postgame presser and pre-Seton Hall media availability, including some news (or at least things to watch for). Not quite a therapy pod, but pretty close!  Coach Cooley's Full Thurs. Media Avail: https://youtu.be/UeiBlsKIlH4
YOUR Georgetown Hoyas extended their winning streak to four games over Creighton, and the two-man game is back on the Finger WAG pod. Jake and Gideon break down the wire-to-wire (mostly) win over Creighton and get you ready for the big weekend rematch against Villanova with a chance to make it five straight.
YOUR Georgetown Hoyas have won three straight, and Jake has you covered with a solo pod after a dominant 13-point win at Butler.
YOUR Georgetown Hoyas come back from 21 in the second to beat Providence in Providence. It's Georgetown's largest comeback win in history, and sure feels like it could be a turning point (let's hope) for a team and program that has struggled (to say the least). An emotional win deserves an emotional pod! We walk through the final 13 or so minutes and highlight the 5 plays of the game, and one play of the year, that led to the Hoyas biggest win to date under Ed Cooley.
In this episode of the Finger WAG podcast, Gideon Hertz and Jake Foote dive deep into Georgetown's recent close loss against UConn. We discuss the late-game execution and where things have fallen short. We also talk through what we're looking for the rest of the season despite Georgetown's struggles. And yes, we talk about THAT press conference and the latest Cooley quote going around.
YOUR Georgetown Hoyas looked ready to secure a monster road win against Creighton, until they weren't. Despite a good road effort, Georgetown comes up short in the key moments and squanders a late 7-point lead before losing in OT. We're back with a post-game pod, breaking down the critical 9-minute stretch where Georgetown went from up 7 to, ultimately, down 3. And yes, we are definitely going to talk about the final bucket (or not) of regulation, along with the execution and decisions that led to the Hoyas coming up just short.
After a brutal loss to Seton Hall, frustration and disappointment are at an all-time high, and the team and program are at a low point. It felt like an important moment to talk through some of the frustration, what Cooley said post-game, and what seems to be the biggest issues the team is facing. I try to give some context and perspective on how I think about where this team, staff and program are.
We're back for a #FingerWagFridays edition of the Pod after...a tough couple of weeks. We attempt a hard reset of the season after a historically bad performance against DePaul. Why we still have (some) hope and what to look for against Seton Hall.
YOUR Georgetown Hoyas are officially 1-0...in Big East play! We've got a full breakdown of Georgetown's convincing win against Marquette in Wisconsin. We also talk (briefly) about the St. Peter's game, even though we really didn't want to. Finally, we've got you covered with a preview of the BE home opener against Xavier.
YOUR undermanned Georgetown Hoyas fail to become the 16th team to beat North Carolina at home in a NonCon game since '97. We recapped the game, discussed the rotation challenges the Hoyas are facing right now, and explained why their depth may not be as bad as it currently looks. Then we get you ready for BE play with a preview of two BIG games: Georgetown starts conference play at Marquette and at home against Xavier (with a date with St. Peter's at McDonough sprinkled in).
Let's vent! And talk about a tough Thanksgiving MTE for your Georgetown Hoyas. We talk about the bad and some good. And answer the question: "Should you still have hope?" Spoiler Alert: Yes! Also, bonus content discussing LEGIT NBA-guy, Micah Peavy!
A hodgepodge episode for an off-week roundup as your Hoyas gear up to return to action on Saturday vs. Wagner before the big MTE in Orlando. We process the devastating Vince news. And recommend you read the story of his initial cardiac arrest and improbable return: How USC Trainers Saved Vincent Iwuchukwu after Cardiac Arrest. Then we discuss the analysis from Jake Foote up on the Finger WAG site, four games in: Are We Right to Be This Hyped? Georgetown’s Four-Game Numbers Tell the StoryFinally, we have some housekeeping for the next week or so as we head into the holiday.
The Georgetown Hoyas are undefeated, and the only Big East team to have two wins against power conference opponents. We break down Georgetown's biggest home NonCon win in a long time as the Hoyas handle a very good Clemson team 79-74. We've got some monster performances to discuss - Malik! KJ!! Vince!! A Finger WAG-worthy block from Isaiah Abraham. The Hoyas are riding high, and you should be too!
After a great start to the year (2-0, beat down of UMD), your Hoyas enter a critical week in their season, culminating in the biggest home non-conference game in a while vs. Clemson. To discuss the vibes on campus, get the truth on issues stifling student support, and hear about (and brainstorm) how Georgetown can drive student engagement, we talked with Hoya Blue Exec, Colin Daliwhal. If you're wondering how you can help encourage student support, this is a must-listen.
We are back with Jake Foote (@Footahh) to break down Georgetown's dominant victory over Maryland. Your Hoyas walk into College Park and take the DMV crown from the Terps in a statement 70-60 win. We talk defense, Centers, Caleb!, and how Georgetown put together their best win since the '21-'22 season (at least).
What a week for the Hoyas! Jake Foote (@Footahh) joins us for an emergency pod to break down the commitment of the 5-Star, Alex Constanza, the highest rated recruit since Greg Monroe! We also get his reactions to the Kentucky game and a preview of the Morgan State opener and the UMD game that increasingly looks like the most important of the season, and a great opportunity for a signature road win.Alex Constanza Commitment PostFull Kentucky and Exhibition Season Recap PodMorgan State Game Preview
John Kurkjian (@JohnKurkjian_) is back to break down a surprising "BTA" beatdown of Kentucky at Rupp Arena. We talk through the big takeaways from this game and the exhibition season as a whole, and get you ready for the regular season opener on Monday against Morgan State before the Hoyas travel to College Park for THE Maryland game.
