I want to once again thank our sponsors for this week and give a quick shoutout to Callaway’s Chrome Tour golf balls. This is where everything matters - feel, control, spin, and performance under pressure. The Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X are designed for exactly that. You’ve got exceptional distance off the tee, but also that control and consistency into the greens, especially on those delicate shots around Augusta. And that balance is what we’re seeing from the players in contention, total trust in every part of their game. So whether you’re chasing a personal best or just trying to sharpen up your short game, the Chrome Tour range delivers tour-level performance. To find out more, visit eu.callawaygolf.com.One way or another, Rory McIlroy is going to make history at the 2026 Masters Tournament. He will either defend his Green Jacket, becoming only the fourth person to do so, or he will have blown the largest 36-hole lead in Masters history. With plenty of big names in hot pursuit, the final round at Augusta National is promising to be incredibly exciting. In this special daily episode, Joe and I discuss Cameron Young's impressive charge after starting the tournament four-over-par through seven holes, the chances of other Major winners like Justin Rose or Shane Lowry, the professionalism and consistency of Sam Burns and, of course, the lurking presence of the World No.1 Scottie Scheffler on the leaderboard. This is a Masters Tournament that continues to deliver and one you will not want to miss down the stretch on Sunday.Watch us in FULL on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@KickPointGolfGet in touch with Dan and Joe and 'Ask The Pod' via our email: kickpointpodcast@futurenet.comSign up for the weekly Kick Point newsletter, released every Friday: https://www.golfmonthly.com/newsletterGet three issues of the Golf Monthly magazine delivered to your door for just £5 at https://www.magazinesdirect.com/kickpointHosted on Acast. Big thanks to this week's sponsor, Callaway. Seeing Augusta this week, it’s obvious how important approach play is to success. Distance control, consistency and giving yourself chances is so important. Now, while the guys out there aren’t gaming these, Callaway’s new Quantum Irons are built for exactly that kind of challenge… for everyday golfers. They’re designed as game improvement irons, which means more forgiveness, more consistency, and helping you hit more greens, especially on those slight misses we all have. So while the pros are dialling it in with precision this week, Quantum Irons are all about helping you bring a bit more of that consistency into your own game. If you’re looking to improve your iron play, they’re definitely worth a look. To find out more, visit eu.callawaygolf.com.Well, If you thought the opening day at The Masters was good... day two was truly something else. Rory McIlroy continued to dazzle at Augusta National, with a majestic second round performance stretching his lead, but there is an incredibly strong leaderboard that are going to do their best not to make it easy for him over the weekend. In the second of our Masters daily specials, Joe and I discuss Tyrrell Hatton's impressive 66 powered by a 100% green in regulation success rate, Patrick Reed's sublime short game, Justin Rose's popularity and prowess around Augusta National, Brooks Koepka's chances and plenty more. As we look ahead to the weekend, this Masters Tournament has all the makings of a classic.Watch us in FULL on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@KickPointGolfGet in touch with Dan and Joe and 'Ask The Pod' via our email: kickpointpodcast@futurenet.comSign up for the weekly Kick Point newsletter, released every Friday: https://www.golfmonthly.com/newsletterGet three issues of the Golf Monthly magazine delivered to your door for just £5 at https://www.magazinesdirect.com/kickpointHosted on Acast. Big thanks to this week's sponsor, Callaway. After round one, you can already see how important it is to get the ball in play off the tee. Augusta National doesn’t let you get away with much. And that’s where the new Quantum Driver is making a serious impact. It’s already picked up five global wins in 2026, including Jon Rahm - the 2023 Masters Champion - who won at LIV Hong Kong using the Quantum Triple Diamond. This driver is built for elite-level performance; speed, control, and consistency when it matters. But it’s not just for the pros. If you’re looking to find more fairways and gain confidence off the tee, it’s well worth checking out. To find out more, visit eu.callawaygolf.com or visit your local retailer.Day one at The Masters certainly didn't disappoint. Rory posted one of his best opening rounds at Augusta National to share the early lead with Sam Burns, Justin Rose once again surged up the leaderboard, Scheffler started fast and the some of the top names in world golf jostled for position. In this special episode, Baz and Joe discuss all the main talking point from day one at Augusta National, give their opinions on the controversial topic of television coverage at The Masters and look ahead to the day two action at the first men's Major of the season. We will be with you every morning of the tournament, covering the hottest talking points and giving our analysis on events as they unfold. If you’re feeling inspired ahead of the Masters to get out and try some new clubs for yourself, now’s a great time to take a look. To find out more, visit eu.callawaygolf.com.Happy Masters Monday! Is there a better day in the calendar year? We don't think so, which is why we're bringing you a very, very special Kick Point flavoured preview of the best golf tournament on earth. Dan is joined by Baz in the full Kick Point studio to look ahead at everything you need to know ahead of the 2026 Masters. In the next hour or so, Baz runs through all of the key story lines you may have missed coming into this week, and gives us his top betting advice of who to look out for as our potential winner. Can Rory defend his title? Will one of the early favourites come home to win? Or can an outsider conquer Augusta National? All of this, plus some of our hot takes on the event itself and Augusta National Golf Club. Enjoy! Big thanks to our friends at GolfClubs4Cash for sponsoring this week's episode. You can visit them in store now at its locations in Edinburgh, Warrington, Milton Keynes and Southampton or head to www.golfclubs4cash.co.uk to browse the more than 50,000 items in stock. What's Joe's best-ever second-hand golf club purchase? How far back from the hole would you go to 'guarantee' it going in (for a cash prize)? Should I use blades for vibe nd vibes only? What's the meaning of life? All of this (and much more) is asked and subsequently answered on this week's episode. We also take two of the biggest (literally) and best (also literally) game improvement/high-handicap irons to have been released in 2026 and put them head-to-head. Can Ping's chunky 'super game improvement' G740 outclass the new kid on the block, the Cobra 3DP X? To round off this week's episode, we also welcome Andrew Huang, Tour Rep for Fujikura, onto the show to answer all of Joe's burning shaft questions, of which we now know he has plenty. Get ready to have all of your shaft preconceptions quashed! Joe's on a crusade again this week, folks. He looks at the game of golf like no man on earth. Caddies? Why do we have them? Loft on drivers? Why is it always incorrect? Now, alignment aids on golf balls are in the firing line. Why do we allow golfers to mark precise lines on their golf balls to help them aim? Surely this is part of the skill? We debate this, and much, much more, this week. After that, we've got some of your recent comments and Ask The Pods and to round off this week, we've got another cracking interview, looking in depth at the equipment of Min Woo Lee. We welcome back now friend of the show, Kellen Watson, Callaway Tour Rep and fitter for Min Woo Lee. Much like the Jon Rahm interview two weeks ago, expect an in-depth analysis of the chef's love of the Callaway Apex UW and why he uses Kangaroo leather grips. Another jam-packed episode this week, if a little shorter than last week's feature-length chow down. Firstly, we're putting the latest players' distance iron to hit the shelves up against the GOAT of the category. Can the Ping i540 come close to knocking the TaylorMade P790 off its perch? We've got some of your excellent questions to get through too, as one listener wants to know if he can raw his own irons by taking the protective coating off. Based on Joe's answer, let's hope he hasn't pulled the trigger on that process yet...After all of that, we're welcoming (for the second time) one of our favourite people in the industry, Christina Kim, onto the show. After she popped up for a quick Ask The Pod in an episode a few weeks ago, we thought it best to sit her down for a proper interview. It's a wide-ranging chat where we take a quick peek at her equipment, compare the equipment used by female professionals to that of male amateurs, analyse dropping the equipment ego, and dive into the reasons why she thinks both men's and women's European teams have created better atmospheres at Ryder and Solheim Cups in recent years. Expect plenty of innuendo and plenty of bleeping...Enjoy!Take part in our GolfClub4Cash questionnaire for a chance to win a £1000 GolfClubs4Cash voucher: https://futurenet.questionpro.eu/GMxGolfClubs4Cash?custom1=KickpointCheck out Under Armour's new GLF Trip collection as seen on this week's episode: https://www.scottsdalegolf.co.uk/shop/under-armourWatch us in FULL on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@KickPointGolfGet in touch with Dan and Joe and 'Ask The Pod' via our email: kickpointpodcast@futurenet.comSign up for the weekly Kick Point newsletter, released every Friday: https://www.golfmonthly.com/newsletter Get three issues of the Golf Monthly magazine delivered to your door for just £5 at https://www.magazinesdirect.com/kickpoint Hosted on Acast. The American battled bravely to claim the biggest win of his career so far at The Players Championship 2026 and, as a result, a well-earned place in the history books. His performance down the closing stretch was not only sublime but also record-breaking as he hit a whopping 375-yard drive, the longest on record in the Shot Link era on that hole. In this episode, we cover Ludvig Aberg's 'hard to watch' capitulation at the turn, Matt Fitzpatrick's gutsy charge in the final round and discuss why we love the challenge posed by the 6th tee at TPC Sawgrass. We also have some really interesting gear insights from Joe, who analyses aspects of Cameron Young's bag, plus also looking ahead to the coming weeks for the biggest names in the game like Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler. With the Valspar Championship coming next, both Baz and Joe make their predictions for who will win at the treacherously tough Copperhead Course and offer insights into what it will take to contend on the PGA Tour this week.Watch us in FULL on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@KickPointGolfGet in touch with Dan and Joe and 'Ask The Pod' via our email: kickpointpodcast@futurenet.comSign up for the weekly Kick Point newsletter, released every Friday: https://www.golfmonthly.com/newsletter Get three issues of the Golf Monthly magazine delivered to your door for just £5 at https://www.magazinesdirect.com/kickpoint Hosted on Acast. Massive thanks to Stromberg for supporting this week's episode. The new LaunchPad Pro and LaunchPad Pro SL golf shoes are available in the UK from American Golf from today, March 6th, at www.americangolf.co.uk. TGIF, amirite? Happy Friday, folks. For those listening in the UK, we sincerely hope you can take advantage of this small dry weather window to enjoy some golf this weekend! This week, we dive into the bag of Rory McIlroy for the 2026 season. Funnily enough, we recorded this before he switched back into his Rors Proto irons a few weeks ago, BUT, with Joe being The Oracle, he had already predicted on February 6th (when we filmed this) that he'd have switched out of the P7CB irons he was using on filming date. Make sense? No? Fine. Anyway, consider this WITB fully up to date as we ponder why Rory has been switching irons and what about the Qi4D family has allowed him to switch so seamlessly into the new woods. Your brilliant questions and comments take up the rest of this week's pod as we cover advice on the best use of driving range balls, investing in lessons or equipment (or both), and clarifying what amount of spin with the driver is the right amount. All of that, plus plenty of drivel and nonsense in between, enjoy! Shane, what have you done?! After looking like he was going to cruise to victory at the Cognizant Classic yesterday, two water balls on the 16th and 17th holes saw Shane Lowry throw away a four-shot lead in Florida and see a 4th PGA Tour win slip through his fingertips. Despite the mess he made, we're here to tell you it's not all bad for Shane and that sometimes, sh*t happens! We also dive into the very interesting equipment of the beneficiary of Lowry's catastrophe, Nico Echavarria, who has bagged another win for a TaylorMade classic and some of our favourite wedges in the game right now. Also, Joe has some insight into Casey Jarvis's back-to-back winning bag, who has now won the Kenyan and South African Opens in consecutive weeks. Jarvis' driver shaft snapped in transit to his home Open last week, and we've got the down low on just how TaylorMade got his gamer back up to running spec in such a short time. Though away this week, Baz also has his top tips ahead of the Arnold Palmer Invitational next week. Enjoy! Happy Friday, everyone. We've got a jam-packed show for you this week! Joe purchased a new 3-wood (with his own money), we play a new game called 'Golf Club Name Or Not Golf Club Name', and we've dug deeper into the science of Cobra's new 3D printed irons, why they cost so much and why Joe is immediately putting them in his bag. As well as loads of your excellent recent questions and comments, we also welcome the founder of Avoda Golf, Tom Bailey, onto the show. He dives into the tech behind the company's curved face irons, his relationship with Bryson DeChambeau that saw him put Avoda irons into play at the 2024 Masters, as well as his ongoing relationship with Jason Day. It's our first Monday three-way for Kick Point: Tour Issue with Joe returning from his well-deserved break to bring the team back to its full quota. This week, we digest everything that happened at The Genesis Invitational, come to terms with the fact that TaylorMade has shifted the sands to become the dominant putter brand on Tour, and debate whether Tiger Woods can, will, and should make his long-awaited return at the Masters this April. And, completely away from the Tour, Joe asks why nobody is getting any better at golf despite all of the technological advancements we've had over the last 20 years. This week, we're live from what Joe has dubbed 'heaven on earth', otherwise known as Golf Pride's Global Innovation Centre in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Filmed during our trip in December, consider this week's episode the grip special you've all been waiting for. We cover all of the behind-the-scenes goodness from Golf Pride's HQ, including its Performance Lab, Fitting Centre, and its retail fitting space. We've also got news on its latest model, the Zero Taper Putter grip, as well as some of your grip-specific Ask The Pods. Apologies that this week's episode is a little shorter than our normal Friday offering, but we had limited time in Golf Pride's Performance Lab. Well, who saw that coming? After what looked like a Bryson vs Rahm Sunday shootout was going to take place at LIV Golf Adelaide, Anthony Kim came from five shots back to win for the first time in 16 years and send the world of professional golf into something representing unified glee. We ask whether Kim's win is the biggest and best comeback story since Tiger's in 2019, and also ask whether LIV Golf's TV coverage has the edge over the PGA Tour's TV offering. Elsewhere, we dissect Collin Morikawa's win at Pebble Beach, Jacob Bridgeman's Best Bogey Ever on the final hole, and take a quick look at Charley Hull's win on the LPGA Tour. Baz also looks ahead to the second Signature Event in as many weeks as the PGA Tour returns to Riviera. For those in the UK, we hope you're not buried under too much water and can get out and golf this weekend. Those listening from warmer climates...don't want to hear about it. This week, we've got two new iron families to talk about, Wilson's Staff Model MB, CB and XB, as well as some surprise new irons from the folks at LA Golf. Wilson's 2026 irons have been universally well-received, so can we call them (and a brand with the most Major wins) underrated anymore? Happy Monday, folks! We hope you enjoyed this weekend's golf more than Baz did. Having seen his two picks for the WM Phoenix Open head out in the final group on Sunday, both to come up empty-handed, he's a little disappointed. Add to that Daniel Hillier's slow weekend after a lightning-fast start, and it was a case of the nearlies for Baz's debut. We've got our reaction to Matsuyama's chaotic final round, Gotterup's stunning start to the season, and ask whether the in-form American (alongside Patrick Reed) can keep his form going into Major season. We've also got plenty of equipment news to get stuck into from the weekend ,as Hovland finally switched into a new driver, Koepka finally saw sense and switched into a mallet putter (then proceeded to putt even worse), and Morikawa swapped flat sticks for the 1056th time this year. Baz also has his key pick ahead of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am coming up this week. Enjoy! Folks, we got him! It's the interview you've been asking for, and the interview Joe has been itching to do ever since we started this podcast: Ian Fraser. Ian, who you'll likely know from his time on the TXG YouTube channel and more recently the Fraser Golf Institute. Quite simply, he's one of the best minds in the world of golf when it comes to equipment and golf club fitting. We met up with Ian at the PGA Show in Florida a few weeks ago for a wide-ranging chat about equipment and, most eye-openeingly, about the future of fitting for all of us. He also ponders what golf clubs he would play if we gave him one more round of golf, his favourite golf components of all time and whether humans could be taken out of golf club fitting for good. There's much, much more to dive into as he and Joe chew the fat on our favourite subject: equipment. Before all of that, though, we give you our highlights (and lowlights) from our time at the PGA Show. From the new Ping product, the 'hidden' tech in Autoflex shafts, a new prototype Yonex driver and a break dancing robot, we'll give you the insight into our time at golf's biggest circus. We've also got some of your stellar Ask The Pod questions to catch up with and a surprise visit from Solheim Cup star, LPGA winner and all-around good egg, Christina Kim, who helps us answer your latest questions. Tour Issue is back after a winter break, and we'll be here every Monday for the foreseeable future with our look back on the weekend's golf from across the professional tours. We've welcome a new face to the show this week, as Barry Plummer joins the Kick Point team as our new Tour Issue correspondent. Having worked on betting content for the last five years and with a keen eye on all the major tours across the world, Baz will be bringing his best tips ahead of next week's action. Don't worry, Joe is going nowhere, though, and he'll be popping up on the occasional Tour Issue episodes as well as every Friday gear show episode as normal. This week, we get our teeth stuck into Justin Rose's wire-to-wire win in San Diego. With a few equipment changes since the Ryder Cup already paying dividends and one of the best ball striking displays we've seen in recent memory, can Justin cap off this run of form with a Major win this year? Elsewhere, Calum Hill suffered a golfer's worst nightmare in his playoff loss to Freddie Schott in Bahrain, and Nelly Korda starts 2026 with a win and a brand new driver in freezing Orlando conditions. All of that, plus Baz's picks for next week's events in Phoenix and Qatar. Enjoy!
