James: Wisdom

James: Wisdom

2026-03-2334:21

In part 9 of our James series, we look at James 3:13-18 and learn that true wisdom is not about knowledge or intellect but is shown through a humble, God-centred life marked by good deeds, peace, and genuine care for others.
James: Words

James: Words

2026-03-1637:36

In part 8 of our James series, Brian teaches that our words are powerful and can either build people up or cause great harm, like a small spark starting a large fire. Christians are therefore called to use their words to bless, encourage, and guide others toward God rather than to tear people down.
James: Faith

James: Faith

2026-03-0930:45

In part 7 of our James series, Brian shares that while Christians are saved by faith in Jesus, true faith is not just an internal belief but should also demonstrated through actions and obedience.
James: Love and Mercy

James: Love and Mercy

2026-03-0231:40

In part 6 of our series through James, Brian challenges us to actively love and show mercy to everyone, especially those who are overlooked or marginalised.
In part 5 of our James series, Re:Hope Southside’s lead pastor, Crooksy, unpacks the final part of James chapter 1. This week we paid attention to how looking intently into Bible can help us getting ready for what life has in store for us – including the trials and challenges of any kind that James speaks about – when we do what it says.
In part 5 of our James series, Laura looks at James’ mirror analogy and his comparison between Christians living in self-deception, and what he calls ‘pure and genuine religion.’ This passage prompts us to assess: am I hearing God and doing what He says in a way that expresses His heart in my context?
James: Anger

James: Anger

2026-02-1635:10

In part 4 of our James series, Brian teaches that we are commanded to be slow to speak and slow to become angry because human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. Instead we are encouraged to respond carefully through forgiveness, repentance, reconciliation, and replacing anger with compassion so that it does not control our actions or harm others.
In part 3 of our James series, Brian teaches that troubles of every kind are not signs God is against us but opportunities to grow stronger, mature, and deepen our trust in His goodness; and that temptation itself is not sin, and as God’s prized possessions we can endure trials with joy, knowing He is with us.
In part 2 of our series through James, Brian teaches on James 1:2-11, reminding us that we will still face troubles as Christians but that God is with us and we can look at these trials as opportunities for joy.
James: Introduction

James: Introduction

2026-01-2634:04

Brian starts our new series through James with an introduction to the book by looking at one of the major messages: Faith isn’t just some feeling or thought on the inside. Join us over the next few weeks as we learn more from the book of James.
Faith is the blood of spiritual life. In this Vision Sunday message titled GET THE BLOOD PUMPING, Re:Hope Southside’s Lead Pastor, Crooksy, draws from Romans 7 and Mark 4 and 6 calling the church to higher faith.
For Vision Sunday, Laura looks at King Solomon's example & talks about making space for God to come & dwell. Making space in our own lives first, by loving him with whole hearts and willing minds, and then making space for what He wants to do in our church; through humility, courage, and 'doing the work' He has given us. In this season of stretching, we will focus on strengthening, so that good fruit can continue to grow.
Brian shares about his personal journey about reading the Bible each year and encourages the church to join a Bible Read Through group.
Fasting Week 2026

Fasting Week 2026

2026-01-0931:44

As we begin a week of fasting as a church, Brian shares about why people in the Bible fasted and what we can learn if we also fast today. You are welcome to join us and can share that you are here: www.rehope.co.uk/fastingweek
In our fourth and final week of Advent, we learn about love.
In our fourth and final week of Advent, we learn about love.
In our 3rd week of advent, Re:Hope Southside lead pastor, Crooksy, brings us a message on JOY. Drawing from Habakkuk 1, Nehemiah 8 and Luke 2, Crooksy helps us to focus on God as our source of joy and draw strength to maintain that joy even when our circumstances are challenging.
With God there is joy in the wilderness! Laura shares from Habakkuk & explores what it's like to take Joy in Jesus this Christmas, even if today's reality looks so different to God's promised future.
In the 2nd week of Advent, Rita talks about peace, sharing her own personal testimony and looking at Paul’s letter to the Phillippian church. She talks about 3 truths we learn about God’s peace from Paul's letter and how we are reminded of these at Advent.
Our Associate Pastor, Duncan, shares an Advent message on Peace with God and from God.
