Sacramento Brief — March 12, 2026Sacramento Police made two arrests in separate incidents across the city.In North Natomas, officers responded to a report of a suspect brandishing a firearm in the 3200 block of Arena Boulevard. Police say the suspect was safely detained and two illegally possessed firearms were located inside the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was arrested on weapons-related charges.In downtown Sacramento, an adult male was arrested after vandalizing pipes inside a building in the 700 block of 7th Street, causing flooding. Officers say the suspect was taken into custody at the scene.City Watch:The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved the appointment of Jennifer Claiborne as the county’s new Director of Waste Management and Recycling, effective March 23. Claiborne brings more than 15 years of experience in the waste management field and currently serves as Chief of the Division of Solid Waste Management for the county.Weather:Thursday will be sunny with a high near 82 degrees. [NEWS]Sacramento Police are investigating a fatal shooting Friday night in the 1500 block of West El Camino Avenue. An adult male later died at a nearby hospital.
