There was so much to like in this uneven, infuriating, and ultimately disappointing episode. The best way we can sum this one up is: Hook, Line, and STINKER! This filler episode (or should we say "fillet" episode!  hey-o!) never quite reeled us in. A lot of tone deaf joking about SA, and underwhelming fights, and a general lack of urgency & danger made this one feel a little fishy. Oz has apparently been written off the show at this point, Buffy and Angel don't even acknowledge their last emotionally devastating encounter, and everyone feels bored now — but not in the fun, sociopathic, skinning-a-villain-alive sort of way. With only two more episodes left this season, it's baffling they chose to put this dead fish story so close to the climax. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2 Episode 19 “I Only Have Eyes For You” is a strange one — there is little evidence from their scenes that Xander and Cordy are dating (Xander asking Buffy if she has visions about him "knowing the love of a woman"!?), and the complete lack of Oz is starting to get distracting. But... what started out as a lightweight, monster-of-the-week episode with an uneven tone (imagine an episode of Goosebumps that happened to include disturbing gun violence and self-unaliving... as well as an O.J. Ironically, this filler episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer wasn't very filling. Buffy Season Two keeps doling out the heartbreak in episode 17 "Passion." We agree on the brilliant plotting and emotional devastation of this one. We are divided on Angel's slam poetry.
