My buddy, Carter King from the band, Futurebirds stops by the studio on day 1 of their 2 night run in Charleston, SC for New Years 2026. We talked music, fishing, art and guitars, the hour flew by quick. A lot of stuff we didn't get to. Dive in and get to know Carter and if you haven't heard Futurebirds, please go take a listen. Thank you for joining in.
What we've got here is another late night in the safe confines of Scotty Rodgers house..Iin The Kitchen again! If you are not familiar with Fred Stivers or his artwork, it's time to check it out. As he rambles through the sporting world, he does quick stops and check ins via paper, pen, pencil and various coloring apparati. He shares how he sees the outdoor world and usually leaves behind a trail of these little and sometimes big drawing and paintings. We had a long day, so forgive any elongated talking or slurring....thanks for tuning in! Thank you also to Scotty, Cort and Kyle for making some grub in the background for them late night snacks.
Hanging out in Jackson, Wyoming for a few days with some good friends as we navigate the week of The One tournament. Kyle Wright is a restauranteur and a fellow fly fisherman from Texas. As the night's activities come to a close, we decide to press record and just talk about our friendship since 2001 up to Kyle's big Texas tournament he co-started in Port O'Connor, called Borracho Pescador. Hope you enjoy some good ol late night convos. Vol.2 will be with artist, Fred Stivers...soon to come.
Welcome back to the studio...where we have who I like to call, Austin Stapleton. To most he is also Austin Stapleton, a man of many talents in the worlds of fishing and hunting. Austin focuses mainly on outdoor photography but also dives into the music world with his camera. Let's get to know him little better...have a seat. Thank you for checking it out.
As we have an off day due to rain runoff in the Pluma River region, we sit down with some of the Tailwaters crew the history of our friendship and their business. It was fun getting to hear a few stories about the shop and also Matt Jones' journey of fly fishing through the lens of a camera. Look into @Tailwaters and @Matt.Jones.Photography
I was very lucky to have gotten a small window of time with Alec Griswold when he was in town. Alec has been around fly fishing and the industry for a long time now. He is involved in a quite a few different facets of the sport but co-owning The Soul Fly Lodge in The Berry Islands, Bahamas is something we get into here. Also, we have some other cool things in the works for 2026 in the entertainment world of fly fishing...it's huge, incredible. Also, thank you to Will Morris, of Soul Fly Events, who helped produce this session.
I went back to Tyler, Texas and sat down with Robin Hood Brians at his studio that he has worked in since the early 70's. We talk about some East Texas music history and his times recording ZZ Top.
I wanted to introduce Gritty Flyright to people that don't know him or his music. A South Carolina boy that has decided to make music his passion and his career. Bringing all the soul and charm of the Lowcountry into his music, it also has a southern soul sound anyone can get behind. I hope you enjoy this look into how he got here and how he wants to go forward. Check out his music on Spotify and www.grittyflyright.com
I got to sit down and get to know Ashley Weber, an artist from NE Florida Coast. We had a good time hanging during the podcast and also got out on the water for a bit. Her friend and new friend of mine, Christin Kruger also joins us for some stories towards the end. Sorry for my unstable audio levels as I'm still learning how to juggle it all. Thank you! Paul
I was fortunate enough to be in Bozeman, MT recently and got to sit down and hassle my friend Jim Klug for a little bit. We just have some loose talk about traveling the world to do what we love most, Flyfishing. Thanks for listening.
The days and time went quickly over the 4 days in Florida with a few of my buddies and a fishing guide named, David Mangum. We had planned on a sit-down podcast to go over mainly his love for fishing photography and another creative outlet, painting. Instead of a more serious session, we opted for the last minute hair cutting moment as he cut our guide, Jack Foley's hair. We had fun with it and kept it loose and pretty un-serious. I apologize for the "poppy" mic as I was a little too close to the mic at times. Thanks David for being a good sport!
Welcome to the Paul Puckett Art Podcast Episode 1. In this 1st episode of Paul Puckett Art World, I basically lay the ground work of what's to come.
