Charged businesses a couple of thousand quid a month, locked them into six-month contracts, and handed over PDFs that looked impressive but were, honestly, a bit of a black box. That entire model is now dead, and I say that with zero nostalgia. Today I walked through a free Claude Code skill called Claude SEO that runs a full technical audit, content analysis, keyword gap strategy, and AI search optimisation on your entire website. The same work that would cost tens of thousands a year from an agency took about 50 minutes on my site and cost me nothing beyond a Claude Pro subscription. The real magic is what happens after the audit. You feed the findings back into Claude Code, have it build a prioritised implementation plan, and then schedule it to chip away at fixes overnight. Title tags, header hierarchy, schema markup, meta descriptions, the lot. It just quietly gets on with it while you sleep and presents a little report in the morning. I also covered why SEO still matters in the age of AI, how Google indexing directly affects whether you show up in ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, and why blocking AI crawlers from your site is probably a mistake. The whole guide is linked below if you want to set this up yourself. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 What is SEO and Why It Matters 0:49 Why AI is Killing the SEO Agency Model 3:37 Is SEO Still Important in the Age of AI 6:12 Using AI Instead of an SEO Agency 8:20 Claude SEO Skill: $20 vs $10K Agency Costs 8:55 Free Claude SEO Skill Walkthrough 9:58 How to Install the Claude SEO Skill 10:57 Running Your First AI SEO Audit 12:29 Content Analysis, EEAT and AI Crawler Access 13:45 Feeding Your Audit Back Into Claude Code 15:43 Connecting MCP to Analytics Tools 17:11 Recommended AI SEO Workflow 19:53 Q&A: Syncing Claude with Claude Code 21:11 Community Showcase: WTF is this Tech 23:24 How to Build and Host a Website with Claude 26:32 Does Every Business Actually Need SEO 29:16 Using Multiple LLMs for Better Results 30:25 Community Showcase: Sequestered AI 32:02 Best AI Creators to Follow Right Now —— More Useful Resources —— Find everything else at https://aiwithkyle.com/

Sora is officially dead, pulled before it even launched in most of the world, and that billion dollar Disney deal has collapsed with it. The internal message at OpenAI is clear: stop the side quests, start making money. They're pivoting hard toward API revenue and enterprise clients, essentially copying Anthropic's playbook after watching them generate comparable revenue with a fraction of the users. Shopping features are getting reworked, flashy consumer toys are being shelved, and researchers are being told to put down the fun projects and focus on profitability. It's a sensible business move, but it does make OpenAI a little less interesting. Meanwhile, Anthropic have been on an absolute tear. Since January alone they've shipped Cowork, Opus 4.6, Excel and PowerPoint integration, a million token context window, Claude Code channels, and just yesterday, full computer use. That last one is particularly spicy because it means Claude can now click around your screen, open programs, and do tasks as if it were sitting at your desk. Someone in my chat pointed out the obvious implication: if you work from home, you could technically outsource your own job to Claude before your employer does it for you. Cheeky, ethically questionable, and probably inevitable. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 Welcome & Show Introduction 0:21 OpenAI Kills Sora: Video Generation App Shut Down 1:14 Why OpenAI Is Cutting Features Before Its IPO 2:01 ChatGPT vs Claude: Why I Switched to Claude 3:08 OpenAI vs Anthropic: Consumer vs API Revenue 5:23 OpenAI's Pivot to API and Enterprise Revenue 6:42 Disney's $1 Billion OpenAI Deal Collapses With Sora 10:49 Disney AI Strategy: IP Licensing and Legal Battles 18:02 Is the Claude Ambassador Program Worth It? 20:48 Why Sora Failed After Its Viral Launch 22:54 ChatGPT Shopping: Why Instant Checkout Flopped 30:51 OpenAI's Pre-IPO Slash and Burn Strategy 32:18 Every Anthropic Claude Launch in 2026 35:53 OpenClaw vs Claude Cowork: Which AI Agent to Use? 41:23 Why Anthropic's API Business Model Wins 43:50 Claude API Errors and Server Capacity Issues 44:46 How I Use Codex and Claude Code Together 46:10 Edge AI Explained: Running Models on Local Devices 49:13 China's Open Source AI Soft Power Strategy 51:11 Is Cursor Getting Crushed? As of last night, Claude can now take full control of your Mac, not just Chrome, not just a sandboxed virtual machine, but your actual computer. It opens apps, navigates your file system, clicks around desktop software, the lot. If you've been following Open Claw, this is essentially that functionality baked directly into the Claude ecosystem, minus the terminal setup, minus the security headaches, minus the afternoon you'd lose tinkering instead of working. You toggle it on in the desktop app and you're away. I've been playing with it all morning and it's genuinely impressive how seamless it feels. What's really striking though is the pace Anthropic are shipping at right now. Two or three features a week since January. Cowork, Opus 4.6, dispatch, channels, remote control, scheduled tasks, computer use, it's relentless. Meanwhile Open Claw's creator has been hired by OpenAI and we've seen precisely nothing from that side. Perplexity Computer costs $200 a month and just got made redundant overnight. The big picture here is simple: we're moving from chatting with AI to AI actually doing things for us, and Anthropic are leading that charge by a comfortable margin. If you haven't explored what agents can do yet, now's probably the time. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 Claude Computer Use Just Dropped — Here's What It Does 1:11 The Shift From Chatting to AI Doing Things For Us 3:18 How OpenClaw Proved the Demand for AI Assistants 6:26 Everything Anthropic Shipped in 3 Months 9:45 What Is Claude Computer Use and How to Turn It On 12:08 How Claude Decides: Connectors vs Browser vs Screen Control 16:03 Safety: Claude Computer Use vs OpenClaw Compared 20:27 How to Download and Set Up Claude Computer Use 22:41 Control Your Computer Remotely With Dispatch and Channels 25:04 Alternatives Compared: OpenClaw vs Perplexity vs Manus 27:36 The Big Takeaway: We Can Just Build Anything Now 30:41 Live Q&A —— More Useful Resources —— Find everything else at https://aiwithkyle.com/

Brilliant. Now what? That's the bit nobody talks about. Everyone's showing you how to build the thing, but the moment you want actual humans to use it, pay for it, and not have their passwords stored in a spreadsheet, you need a proper stack. Today I walked through every tool I use to go from a half-baked idea to a live, deployed, money-making web app. GitHub, Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Resend, Beehive, PostHog. The full lot. I explained what each one does, why you need it, and crucially, the order you should set them up in. The best part is nearly all of it is free to start. You only begin paying once thousands of people are actually using what you've built, which is a very good problem to have. I'm running a six-figure business and my entire tech stack costs me about a hundred dollars a month. That's an absurd margin. Whether you're using Lovable, Google AI Studio Build Mode, or Claude Code, this is the roadmap for turning your proof of concept into something real. I also shared a prompt that will generate a full deployment plan for your specific project, so you're not fumbling through DNS records alone at midnight. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 The Vibe Coder's Toolkit Overview 1:44 Best Vibe Coding Tools to Build Your App 5:50 What Happens After You've Built Something 7:07 GitHub — Cloud Storage and Version Control 9:40 Supabase — Your Database and User Authentication 12:45 Deploying Your Web App With Vercel 15:37 Buying and Connecting a Custom Domain Name 18:10 Getting Paid — Stripe and ThriveCart Setup 21:03 Email Systems — Transactional vs Marketing Emails 25:00 PostHog — Analytics and A/B Testing for Your App 27:48 Full Vibe Coding Tech Stack Recap 30:58 The Master Prompt to Deploy Your App 33:08 Q&A — Lovable vs Claude Code and Getting Started 35:22 Building Free or Nonprofit Apps Without Going Bankrupt 37:50 Claude Code Remote Control — Channels, Dispatch and More 39:35 The Danger of Always-On Coding From Your Phone 40:40 Why AI Tool Costs Shouldn't Stop You From Building 42:23 Is AI Overhyped? Anthropic dropped a massive study where they interviewed 81,000 Claude users about how they actually feel about AI, and the results are fascinating. Nearly 19% said AI hasn't delivered what they expected, with my favourite quote being "AI should be cleaning windows and emptying the dishwasher so I can paint and write poetry." Instead, it's doing the painting and the poetry. The data also shows a clear global divide: developing nations are overwhelmingly optimistic about AI while the West is increasingly nervous, which makes perfect sense when you think about who has the most to lose. I also got hands on with Claude's new Dispatch feature, which lets you message your always-on computer from your phone and have Cowork handle tasks while you're out. It's basically Open Claw for grownups, doing 90% of what made that tool exciting but in a much more secure package. Anthropic have been shipping features at a ridiculous pace and they're clearly stitching Claude Chat, Cowork and Code into one coherent system. Plus, a reality check for anyone moving from ChatGPT to Claude and hitting usage limits: Anthropic's real business is the API, not the $20 consumer plan, and that's not changing anytime soon. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 Intro: Claude and Anthropic Are Killing It 0:34 Anthropic's 81,000 Person AI Study Explained 5:00 What 81,000 People Actually Want From AI 8:08 Is AI Actually Delivering on Its Promises? 12:44 AI Accessibility: Changing Lives for Disabled Users 14:45 What People Worry About: AI Hallucinations and Reliability 16:25 AI Job Displacement: Why This Time Is Different 17:56 Existential Risk and the AI Optimist vs Pessimist Debate 20:03 Global AI Sentiment: Why Developing Nations Love AI 23:24 Claude Dispatch and Cowork: OpenClaw for Grownups 29:42 Dispatch vs Remote Control: What's the Difference? 30:15 Is Any Job Future Proof? If you've been hearing the term thrown around and feeling like you need to be technical to get involved, you don't. I walked through exactly how to get started using Google AI Studio's hidden Build mode, which is completely free, requires zero setup, and lets you build working apps just by describing what you want in plain English. I built a social media growth projector live on stream, from nothing to a functioning tool with charts and milestone calculations, in about two minutes. The whole point was to remove every barrier I could think of. No paid tools, no terminal commands, no deployment headaches. Just open a browser, click Build, and start talking. I also put together a second tool, a task automation analyser, to show how quickly you can go from idea to something genuinely useful. If you've had projects sitting on a to-do list for months because you assumed you'd need to learn to code first, this is your way in. Start with a toy project, get the bug, and worry about the complicated stuff later. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 Getting Started with Vibe Coding for Complete Beginners 2:41 Why Google AI Studio Build Mode is the Best Free Tool 3:38 How to Use the Chat Interface and Voice Input 4:15 Start with a Toy Project Not Your Dream App 5:40 Live Build: Social Media Growth Calculator with Gemini 10:00 Publishing and Deploying Your First App for Free 11:06 Why Learning to Code Still Matters with AI 11:44 Bugs vs Features: The Vibe Coding Feedback Loop 14:28 How to Fix Bugs Using Screenshots and Error Logs 15:28 From Toy Project to Real Business Tool Using Claude 16:36 Planning Your Project Before Building 19:53 Dropping a Project Plan into Google AI Studio Build 20:47 What Beginners Should Skip: Auth, Databases and Deployment 22:51 Vibe Five: 5 Mini Projects to Build Your Coding Portfolio 24:55 Live Demo: AI-Powered "What Should I Automate First" Tool 28:28 AI-Generated Automation Suggestions That Actually Work 29:10 Recap: How to Start Vibe Coding Today 31:28 Join the Community and Free Resources —— More Useful Resources —— Find everything else at https://aiwithkyle.com/

Tens of thousands of people asked for a proper guide to levelling up with AI. So today I built it. Seven levels of AI mastery, from "I'm basically using ChatGPT as Google" all the way through to running your own local models. I've mapped out the full progression path, complete with an RPG-style skill tree because apparently that's the kind of person I am. The core idea is simple: there's a logical order to learning this stuff, and most people are skipping straight to the fancy bits without the foundations. I walked through each level on the stream, from thinking with AI instead of just asking it questions, to setting up projects, personalising your setup with skills and custom instructions, connecting AI to your existing tools via MCP, vibe coding your own apps, building automations that work while you sleep, and finally going full AI operator. I also showed off a mini "five builds in five days" vibe coding curriculum I've been putting together, and built a stamp duty calculator live on stream just to prove the point. The whole thing will be fleshed out properly over the coming weeks, but the skeleton is there and I think it fills a gap that nobody else is really addressing. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 Introduction to the AI Native Skill Tree 2:10 The Problem: Where Do I Start with AI? 4:20 Level 1: Going Beyond Google 5:12 Why Context and Prompting Matter 7:48 Your AI Tech Stack in 2026 9:09 Level 2: Building Persistent AI Projects 10:50 Level 3: Personal AI, Custom Instructions & Skills 14:03 Level 4: Connected AI & MCP Explained 16:28 Level 5: The Vibe Coding Progression Path 19:42 Level 6: AI Automation & Autonomous Agents 22:25 Level 7: Becoming an AI Operator 23:35 Why Existing AI Training Courses Are Broken 25:56 All 7 Levels Recap & Mindset Shifts 29:01 Best Vibe Coding Tools for Beginners 31:17 Hosting Costs & Deploying AI Web Apps 32:36 How to Find Your First Vibe Coding Project 33:43 5 Builds in 5 Days: Vibe Coding Mini Course Preview 38:14 Outro & How to Stay Updated —— More Useful Resources —— Find everything else at https://aiwithkyle.com/

The results went viral, then he deleted the whole thing. Thankfully someone cloned the repo before it vanished. The takeaway is blunt: if your job lives on a screen, you're looking at a 7, 8, or 9 out of 10 on the AI risk scale. Software developers, lawyers, customer support, travel agents, all deep in the red. Nurses, plumbers, electricians? Barely a scratch. We walked through the whole chart live and I'll be honest, it's equal parts fascinating and uncomfortable. Beyond the jobs data, we covered a genuinely brilliant story out of Australia where a bloke with zero medical training used ChatGPT and DeepMind's AlphaFold to design a personalised cancer vaccine for his dog. It worked. The tumour halved. The red tape took longer than the actual science, which tells you everything about where we are right now. We also talked about Meta quietly falling out of the AI race after their new model flopped internal benchmarks, and I walked through a bunch of Claude Code skill repositories so you can start plugging domain expertise straight into your AI workflow. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 Intro 0:30 Karpathy's AI Job Exposure Chart: 143 Million US Jobs Scored 5:01 Which Jobs Are Most at Risk from AI? 8:37 Are Lawyers Really Safe from AI? 9:39 Safest Jobs in the AI Age: Trades and Healthcare 10:52 Live Q&A: Finding Your Job on the Chart 13:44 Will AI Replace Teachers? 15:29 The Trades Oversupply Trap 16:41 Why You Need Multiple Income Sources Now 19:50 Man Uses ChatGPT to Create a Cancer Vaccine for His Dog 29:33 Meta Falls Behind: The AI Race Is Down to Three 34:18 Best Free AI Documentaries on YouTube 36:52 Claude Skills Explained: Expert Knowledge for Your AI 39:13 Where to Find 88,000+ Claude Code Skills 43:51 Claude 2x Off-Peak Usage Promotion Explained 46:57 Wrap Up & Newsletter —— More Useful Resources —— Find everything else at https://aiwithkyle.com/

The short version: you can now get Claude to create interactive charts, explainers and data visualisations directly in your conversation. The trick nobody's telling you is that you need to say "show me" to trigger it. I tested it on everything from compound interest explainers to debunking that nonsense going around TikTok about AI using more water than video streaming (spoiler: TikTok uses about 60 times more water per hour than ChatGPT, and that's being generous). You can even publish your visualisations as shareable artifacts, which is genuinely useful if you need to send something to a colleague or client without making them sign up for anything. The real story though is what this means practically. I used it this morning with my business partner to analyse our welcome email sequences, pulled in sales data across four different variants, and had Claude turn the whole thing into a visual report and then a slide deck. That process would have eaten an entire day six months ago. If you're running any kind of agency or reporting workflow, this is worth your attention. It's not going to destroy industries overnight, despite what some people are breathlessly claiming, but it's a proper useful addition to the toolkit. Available on all plans including free, which is a nice touch. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 Claude's New Visualizer Feature: What It Is & Why It Matters 1:45 How to Trigger Claude's Visualizer: Use "Show Me" 3:16 Debunking the AI Water Usage Myth: ChatGPT vs TikTok 7:20 NotebookLM vs Claude Visualizer: Which Is Better for Learning? 8:07 Interactive LLM Chunking Walkthrough: Learn AI Concepts Visually 12:04 Publishing Claude Artifacts to the Web + RAG Pipeline Demo 15:32 Visualizer API Access, Embedding Artifacts & Claude Plan Pricing 18:18 Real Business Use Case: Analyzing Email A/B Sequences with Claude 22:38 AI for Agencies: Auto-Generate Client Reports & Slide Decks in Minutes 23:33 Why Most People Think AI Is Useless (The Free Tools Trap) 26:03 Claude vs ChatGPT: Honest Comparison, Memory & Usage Limits 30:16 Q&A: ChatGPT Memory Import, LLM Self-Hosting & Claude Code vs Cursor 33:08 Q&A: AI Regulation, AGI Definition & Best Open Source LLMs to Self-Host 36:51 Wrap-Up: Key Takeaways, Newsletter & Free Community Resources —— More Useful Resources —— Find everything else at https://aiwithkyle.com/

I've been putting off this Claude Code explainer for weeks, partly because simplifying a genuinely complex topic is tricky, and partly because I was just a bit intimidated by it. But here we are. This is a proper beginner's guide to getting started with Claude Code if you're not a developer, have never touched a terminal, and have no idea what a GitHub repo is. We cover the three main ways to access Claude Code (web, desktop app, and IDE), why the desktop app is the one to go for, and how to connect it to GitHub without losing your mind. The bigger point here isn't really about the tool itself. It's about what becomes possible when you stop assuming software is someone else's job. Claude Code lets you build small, genuinely useful things: personal micro-tools, scrapers, dashboards, automations. We built a (very rough) Space Invaders clone live, just to prove the point. I also walked through Gary Tan's GST Stack setup, which turns Claude Code into something resembling a full engineering team. It's early days for most people on this, and that's fine. The transition isn't as smooth as you'd hope though, and if you arrive expecting the same experience you had on ChatGPT, you're in for a few surprises — usage limits, no image generation, and a very different philosophy baked into the product. In this one I walk through everything you actually need to know before making the switch: the model tiers and what you can realistically use on a $20 plan, how Projects and Memory work, the connectors, Skills, and where Claude Code and Cowork fit into the picture. Claude is built for professionals who want straight answers rather than flattery, and once you understand how it thinks, it's a genuinely better tool for serious work. In this session I walk through Claude Cowork, what it actually is, why it's meaningfully different from chatting with an AI, and how I'm using it to automate tasks that would otherwise eat my day. We're talking TikTok reply bots, ad audits, scheduled workflows — all running in the background while I get on with other things. This isn't about prompting AI anymore. It's about setting up systems once and letting them run. I cover the full Claude ecosystem, how skills work, what MCP connectors are, and the honest caveats too — cost, desktop-only limitations, token burn. If you've been curious about where AI is actually headed in 2026, this is a decent place to start. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 Welcome to the Claude Ecosystem 0:53 $830 Billion Stock Wipeout & The 4 Big AI Shifts 3:43 The Big Shift: AI That Does the Work, Not Just Talks 6:00 Getting Started: Download, Cost & Setup Requirements 7:00 How Cowork Works: Files, Folders & the Employee Model 7:37 Live Demo: Automating TikTok DM Replies 9:50 From Prompts to Files: The New Way to Delegate to AI 14:20 Live Demo: Invoice Automation Built from Scratch 20:22 Claude Skills: Plug In Any Expertise Instantly 22:07 Live Demo: Automated Meta Ads + Stripe Daily Report 23:34 One Person. The honest version: I do a one-hour live stream every day, record 15 short videos afterwards, push out a newsletter, and convert bits of it into blog articles. That sounds unhinged, and it probably is. But the point wasn't to make you copy me. It was to show you how a tiny team can operate like a full media company when you use AI to handle the repurposing rather than the creating. The key thing I wanted to get across is that AI slop is already everywhere and people can smell it. LinkedIn is basically a skip fire at this point. The way to beat that is to keep yourself in the loop. Record your actual voice, your actual opinions, your actual hot takes, and then let AI tidy, reformat, and multiply that into newsletters, short-form scripts, and blog articles. Fifteen minutes of rambling into your phone can become 20+ pieces of content. Distribution is the game now, not building. This workflow is how you play it. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 How I Use AI to Create 30+ Content Pieces Daily 1:28 The One Hour Content Engine Explained 2:31 Why Distribution Beats Product Building in 2026 3:39 The AI Slop Problem on LinkedIn and Social Media 5:02 Human in the Loop: The Secret to Authentic AI Content 6:29 My Complete Daily Content Workflow Overview 8:01 Stage 1: Setting Up Your AI Research Agent 10:20 Stage 2: Why Recording Your Raw Thoughts Is Everything 12:10 Stage 3: Turning Transcripts Into a Daily Newsletter 14:12 Stage 4: AI-Generated Short Form Video Scripts 16:09 Why TikTok and Instagram Algorithms Reward Yapping 16:49 How Content Stacking Creates a Flywheel Effect 17:40 Stage 5: Turning Short Videos Into SEO Blog Articles 19:25 Building a Content-to-Sales Funnel That Works 20:26 Best Newsletter Platforms: Beehive vs Substack vs Kit 21:32 Your Week 1 Action Plan to Start Today 23:47 Q&A: Why NotebookLM Is the Best Free AI Tool 25:22 How I Got Into AI Training as a Humanities Grad 26:24 Overcoming Public Speaking Fear: My Roadmap 27:00 AI Generated vs AI Assisted Content: Where's the Line? 28:47 The Hormozi Quote That Changed My Content Strategy 30:23 Closing and How to Get the Free PDF Guide —— More Useful Resources —— Find everything else at https://aiwithkyle.com/

Kicked out of the Pentagon, labeled a "supply chain risk" (a designation usually reserved for Chinese state-linked companies), only for Dario Amodei to be back at the negotiating table days later. Sam Altman, meanwhile, swooped in suspiciously fast to fill the gap, which didn't go unnoticed. Over a million and a half people quietly migrated to Claude, pushing it to number one on the App Store for the first time in its life. The irony being, of course, that Anthropic are perfectly happy building lethal autonomous weapons. They just want Americans kept out of the blast radius. On the quieter but arguably more interesting side of things, Google dropped a native command line interface for the entire Workspace ecosystem, which is the kind of boring plumbing update that builders absolutely lose their minds over, and rightly so. AI agents can now talk directly to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Sheets and more without the usual browser automation nonsense. NotebookLM also got a cinematic video upgrade, turning static slideshows into full motion AI-generated explainers. That tells you everything about how badly 5.2 landed. Nobody liked it, it gaslit users into thinking they needed to calm down before asking about banana bread, and OpenAI know it. There's also a 5.4 reasoning model apparently dropping this week, though at this point it feels less like a product launch and more like a fire extinguisher. Cancellations are up 400% and people are migrating to Claude in droves. The bigger conversation though is the one that actually matters: we've crossed a genuine threshold in AI. December 2025 was the quiet inflection point where agents stopped being a buzzword and started actually working. For three years, AI was something you talked to. Now it's something that does the work for you, handling coding, bookkeeping, the lot. Andrej Karpathy put it well: before December, coding agents basically didn't work. Since December, they basically do. That's not a gradual curve, that's a hard line. If you haven't started playing with agentic tools yet, now's a very good time to start paying attention. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 GPT-5.3 "Less Cringe" Update: What OpenAI Actually Changed 3:23 GPT-5.4 Teaser: Is a Reasoning Model Dropping This Week? 7:12 The 4 Big AI Shifts That Changed Everything (Ethan Mollick) 10:13 From Chatting to Doing: The Real Agentic AI Revolution 19:27 Live Demo: Claude Cowork Handles My Entire Bookkeeping 21:20 White Collar Jobs at Risk Since December 2025 22:08 Q&A: Best Chinese & EU AI Alternatives (Qwen, Kimi, DeepSeek) 24:47 Will China Keep Open-Sourcing AI? Anthropic found themselves declared a "supply chain risk" by the Pentagon after refusing to drop their red lines on autonomous weapons and domestic surveillance, and rather than rolling over, they've lawyered up and are challenging it in court. OpenAI, never ones to miss an opportunity, stepped in within days to take the contract, which went down about as well as you'd expect. ChatGPT uninstalls surged 300%, one-star reviews spiked 775% in a single day, and Claude hit number one in the US App Store. Suddenly everyone's heard of Anthropic. The irony is that Anthropic's best ever week of growth came wrapped in an existential threat. All those new Claude users flooding in, including apparently Katie Perry, were met with overloaded servers and error messages, which is a painful way to make a first impression. Worth noting too: Anthropic aren't the pacifists some are making them out to be. They took a $200 million Pentagon contract, they're fine with autonomous weapons in principle, they just want guardrails. That nuance is getting lost in the noise, but it matters. Six months from now, whether Claude still exists in its current form is a genuinely open question. —— Time Stamps —— 00:00 Anthropic vs Pentagon: The AI Cold War Begins 01:47 Anthropic Fights Back: Legal Challenge Against Supply Chain Risk 04:24 Legal Experts Say Anthropic Will Win in Court 06:49 56 CEOs Sign Open Letter Defending Anthropic 08:36 Why Sam Altman Defended His Biggest Rival 08:47 OpenAI Closes Record $110 Billion Funding Round 10:39 Q&A: Viewer Reactions to the Anthropic Drama 13:05 OpenAI Swoops In to Take Anthropic's Pentagon Contract 14:57 ChatGPT Uninstalls Skyrocket 295% After Pentagon Deal 15:37 #QuitChatGPT: Katy Perry and the Mass Migration to Claude 16:12 Are Anthropic Really the Good Guys? Not a drill, not a hypothetical. And the detail that should genuinely make you pause is this: the government doesn't have a secret, more powerful version of Claude sitting in a classified bunker somewhere. Ethan Mollick made the point well. They're using the same model you get for $20 a month, probably an older version, because new models have to go through procurement before deployment. That's the actual state of AI in modern warfare right now. What that means in practice is worth sitting with. When Claude is a little too agreeable, a little too confident, prone to the occasional hallucination, that's fine when you're polishing a draft or writing a proposal. When it's informing decisions about military targets, the stakes are rather different. The AI arms race isn't some distant future concern. It's already here, already running, and it's built on the exact same infrastructure the rest of us use every day. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 Introduction: Trump Enters the Anthropic War 0:41 Analysis of Donald Trump's Truth Social Post 2:11 Anthropic's Red Lines: Surveillance and Weapons 3:34 Pete Hegseth Designates Anthropic a Supply Chain Risk 5:58 Impact on AWS, Palantir, and Tech Investors 7:53 Why Anthropic Can't Move Operations to Europe 8:56 US Military Uses Claude in Iran Strikes 11:09 Ethan Mollick on Government AI Access 12:41 Military Training and AI Hallucinations 17:05 Ethical Divide: Domestic vs Foreign AI Use 18:22 OpenAI Reaches Deal with the Pentagon 19:52 Comparing OpenAI and Anthropic Safety Guards 21:14 Drone Warfare and Autonomous Decision Making 22:41 Centralized vs Decentralized AI Control 24:05 Shifting Regulations on Human Control in AI 25:35 Posse Comitatus Act and Domestic Enforcement 29:44 OpenAI's FAQ on Military Safety Agreements 31:10 OpenAI vs Anthropic: Well-Oiled Machine vs Scrappy 33:49 Military Procurement and AI Model Versions 39:28 Claude's Growing Market Share vs ChatGPT 42:12 Scaling Challenges and AWS Risk 46:10 China's AI Progress: Manus and Agentic Tech 49:50 How to Stay Updated with the Newsletter —— More Useful Resources —— Find everything else at https://aiwithkyle.com/

Anthropic and the US Department of Defense have been circling each other all week, and this morning Dario Amodei finally put out a statement telling the Pentagon to do one. The two red lines — autonomous weapons targeting and mass domestic surveillance — remain firmly in place, despite threats to blacklist Anthropic as a supply chain risk, invoke the Defense Production Act, and effectively destroy the company. It is, without question, the most consequential standoff between a government and an AI company we have ever seen, and I am genuinely baffled more people are not talking about it. On top of that, Jack Dorsey cut 40% of Block's workforce, around 4,000 people, and was unusually honest about why: the company is profitable, growing, and simply does not need as many humans anymore. AI did that. We also got Google's Imagen 3 update with much better consistency across frames, and Anthropic, despite potentially ceasing to exist by Monday, somehow found the time to ship auto memory, remote MCP connections, and scheduled tasks in Cowork this week. Busy Friday. —— Time Stamps —— 0:00 Intro: Anthropic vs Pentagon, Jack Dorsey AI Cuts & New Claude Features 0:36 Dario Amodei Says NO to the Pentagon — Full Statement Breakdown 5:28 Red Line #1: AI-Powered Mass Domestic Surveillance 8:13 Red Line #2: Fully Autonomous AI Weapons and "Kill Bots" 10:37 Pentagon Threatens to Blacklist Anthropic as Supply Chain Risk 13:15 Could This Destroy Anthropic? Caught between Chinese distillation attacks at the start, and a Pentagon ultimatum threatening to blacklist them as a "supply chain risk" by Friday, they've quietly walked back their flagship responsible scaling policy, the very thing that set them apart as the supposed good guys of AI. Convenient timing, given the policy dropped the same day Pete Hegseth delivered his ultimatum. Make of that what you will. On the more practical side, Claude Code is steadily rebuilding everything people loved about Open Claude, piece by piece, remote sessions, and now scheduled recurring tasks, so your AI can crack on while you sleep. Google's Anti-Gravity also deserves a mention: it's free, it runs Claude Sonnet, Opus, Gemini and GPT all in one place, and if you're already paying for Google Workspace, you've probably had access to half of this without knowing it. The Pentagon have given them until Friday to strip Claude's safety guardrails for military use (think autonomous weapons and mass surveillance) or face being labelled a US supply chain risk, a designation normally reserved for Chinese companies. It's an extraordinary situation, and the irony isn't lost on me: Anthropic spent yesterday warning the world about Chinese labs stealing their models on national security grounds, and today they're being threatened by their own government. OpenAI, Google and xAI took the contracts and quietly complied. Anthropic are the only ones drawing a line. Elsewhere, Claude Code quietly knocked 13% off IBM's stock price, its worst crash in 25 years, simply by refactoring legacy COBOL applications. If the code moves off COBOL, the mainframes that run it become redundant, and IBM's entire core business starts looking shaky. One blog post did that. And on the education front, UK students are now using AI for nearly half of all their study tasks, double the figure from last year and the highest of any country surveyed. Teachers increasingly can't tell the difference. The education system hasn't caught up and, frankly, it's not clear it knows how to. —— Time Stamps —— 00:00 Anthropic vs The Pentagon: Friday Deadline Could End AI Giant 10:18 Are AI Benchmarks Meaningless?
