Merry Christmas to all, and to all a delight! As we welcome on a club legend for this Christmas special episode of the Iron Hour podcast.Introducing none other than the big man himself, nope it isn't Santa. It's....... Steve Torpey spreading his Christmas cheer as Barra and Marco take you on a journey of the past, present and future as we recount some fan favourite stories and hear what it was really like in that dressing room under Brian Laws (see what we did there). From rickety view points to missing analysis footage and all the stories in between. We hear Torps' side of the Lee Johnson saga and look at many a thing outside of the Iron too, the Milwall vs West Ham derby and playing under Jan Molby at Swansea.... we discuss it all! ⚽🥅👑The ghost of Christmas present visits as Torps looks at the current crop of players and gives his view on the standouts and expectations for this season with his take on who would be a massive loss if they left in the new year, not to mention the glowing praise for Butler's management skills. 🎁And finally the ghost of things yet to come drops in as we look ahead to the boxing day clash at Hartlepool featuring the regular predictions.🔮A huge thank you to the legend himself Steve Torpey for joining us this week and talking all things Scunthorpe United. To our listeners, we thank you so much for your continued support throughout this year. We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a promotional new year! 🎅 🎄 🎁 ✨UP THE IRON! Hosted on Acast. First and foremost, Congratulations to Ross Barrows on his comeback, an incredible 336 days after the horror injury on New Years eve 2024.We ask the big question - what was the quickest collapse, the England top order or the end of Saturday's game? Lots to discuss as we dive into the trip to Alty and ponder over a potential winter time pattern. It's 20 league games up for the season so we have our usual 10 game review with regular Ben Maidment, he says we are going ok, what do you think? Room for improvement or content with the season so far?The spy in the camp is back, we welcome Dave Brown the Tamworth and Non League photographer as we preview Saturday's home game against the Lambs. Fresh from our appearance at the FCA's, the Iron Hour podcast deliver the latest episode of the season 4! That's 28 for the season! There's no London offices here, just a few scunny fans talking nonsense. We take a deep dive into the recent happenings at Scunthorpe United and in particular Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Braintree Town, snatching a draw from the jaws of victory with that late goal conceded. It's a game of fine margins and if you don't put your chances away, you always leave the door open. We look at the threadbare squad Buts is operating with and it's fair to say we are looking a bit light at the moment. Do we need a signing or 2 to freshen things up? We take a good look at those Andy Butler post match comments - are you a boo boy? And we discuss the club statement regarding a reported racist incident. The fan favourite segment spy in the camp is back and we welcome Dec from the Talkin' Alty podcast who helps us look ahead to Saturday's away fixture at Altrincham. An opposition that have actually been quite kind to the Iron in recent years, with us managing to pick up 4 points against them in that 22/23 relegation season.Out usual predictions and a quick fire FPL update at the end.Whether we are talking the Iron or utter rubbish or maybe both, we hope you enjoy it! Give us a like and follow on social media and leave us a comment and a review! All in all, we are just pleased that Barra uploaded the correct podcast this week - what a plonker!UP THE IRON Hosted on Acast.
