Description

Welcome to The True and Better Podcast, where a bunch of Christian mates who love Jesus and the Scriptures get together to talk about their passion: biblical theology. What is biblical theology, you ask? Put simply, it is the acknowledgement that the Bible is a grand, unified story—an epic, if you will—with one hero, namely, Jesus of Nazareth. In other words, Jesus is the True and Better reality in which the various types, threads and themes of the Old Testament find their fulfillment and resolution. If that's your interest, dial in. While our primary focus is biblical theology, we will also be interviewing biblical scholars and pastors to discuss all things faith and theology. https://thetrueandbetter.com/

Ep. #3 The Shepherding God — From Eden to New CreationIn this episode of The True and Better Podcast, we trace the theme of God as Shepherd from Genesis to Revelation and see how the motif lands on Christ the good shepherd.Recommended resources: Shepherds After My Own Heart by Timothy Laniak and The Heavenly Shepherd by Ian Hamilton.
From Failing Sons to the Faithful Son: How Jesus Fulfils Biblical SonshipIn the New Testament, Jesus is called the “Son of God”—but why? In this second episode of The True and Better Podcast, we trace the theme of biblical sonship through Adam, Israel, and the Davidic kings, showing how Jesus succeeds where every other “son” failed. We then look at what Jesus’ faithful sonship means for believers’ adoption and identity as the sons and daughters of God.D.A Carson on Biblical SonshipThe Son Of God And The New Creation (Graeme Goldsworthy)For purchasing Christian books in New Zealand, we recommend Grace Books
