Do you feel stuck when it comes to discerning God’s will? Like you know God cares about the decision in front of you—but you’re not hearing Him clearly?
You’re not alone.
In this episode, we talk about the number one reason believers struggle to discern God’s will—and it might surprise you. The issue isn’t that God isn’t speaking. It’s that many of us don’t realize how He’s speaking… or we’re too distracted, overwhelmed, or disconnected to notice.
Through a personal story of stepping out of ministry, leaving stability, and following God into uncertainty, we unpack how learning to pay attention, find peace, and practice obedience transformed our ability to hear God clearly.
If you’re facing a decision, feeling overwhelmed, or longing to reconnect with God’s voice, this episode will give you practical steps—and hope.
In this episode, we cover:
Why God is speaking—even when it feels silent
How fear, responsibility, and distraction dull our spiritual awareness
The difference between waiting for a “big sign” and noticing God’s daily whispers
How peace is the starting point for discernment
Why paying attention to patterns (Scripture, people, impressions, timing) matters
How obedience—especially in small steps—builds confidence in hearing God
Why God’s goal is always relationship and intimacy, not pressure or perfection
Practical steps to discern God’s will more clearly:
Start with peace – calm the chaos so you can hear clearly
Make space for God – intentional time in His presence
Pay attention – notice Scripture, conversations, songs, and patterns
Write it down – track what God is highlighting
Process with trusted people – wise counsel brings clarity
Walk in obedience – even small steps matter
Practice consistently – hearing God gets easier with practice
Encouragement from this episode:
God isn’t hiding His will from you. He’s inviting you closer.
You were created to hear His voice, and He delights in guiding you—step by step—into the abundant life He promised.
Ready for clarity?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to discern God’s voice in your current season, we’d love to walk with you.

Have you been feeling depleted, heavy, or stuck in a cycle of disappointment that won’t lift? In this episode, Josh and Corina break down what discouragement really is, why it can feel so “sticky,” and how to get free—without expecting yourself to magically snap out of it overnight.
You’ll hear a helpful reframe: discouragement often forms when disappointments stack up and turn into a belief system—“nothing will change,” “God doesn’t care,” “this is how it will always be.” But that belief system can be dismantled. And you can learn to recognize discouragement early—so it doesn’t take you out for weeks at a time.
This episode is full of practical strategies, biblical insight, and encouragement to take one small step toward hope—then keep going until a new pattern forms.
In this episode, you’ll learn
What discouragement is and how it often turns into a hopeless belief system
Why discouragement can get “triggered” by one event—even if you’ve been doing well
How to identify what you’re believing by what you’re feeling (and how Holy Spirit helps)
Why the first step is often physical: care for your body to support your mind
How to get out of isolation and connect with hope-filled believers
How to bring discouragement to God with worship, thanksgiving, and truth
Why remembering God’s faithfulness and testimonies breaks hopeless cycles
How to stay encouraged (not just get a quick breakthrough and slide back)
A simple strategy to build momentum: one small choice + celebrate + repeat
Why “never stop starting” is a powerful spiritual habit

Proverbs 13:12 (hope deferred / tree of life)
Psalm 42:11

Have you ever felt like your time with God has turned into a checklist instead of connection?
In this episode of Believe & Become, Josh and Corina unpack three simple, grace-filled devotional habits that help you draw closer to God—without striving, guilt, or performance. Rooted in James 4:8 (“Come near to God and He will come near to you”), this conversation reframes devotional time as relational, not transactional.
If you’ve ever struggled with feeling “not spiritual enough,” inconsistent quiet times, or shame around Bible reading and prayer, this episode will bring freedom and fresh perspective.
In this episode, you’ll learn
Why God is far more interested in connection than consistency
How to release shame and performance from your devotional life
How to engage God even in busy or exhausting seasons
Three practical devotional habits that actually build intimacy:
Expect to receive from the Holy Spirit
Journal with God to remove distraction and hear Him more clearly
Focus on identity over accomplishment
How to invite Jesus into everyday moments (yes—even workouts and chores)
Why hearing God isn’t limited to quiet rooms or long prayer times
Josh and Corina also share practical tips like habit stacking, setting “the table” for God ahead of time, and learning to receive from Him spirit-to-Spirit—even when nothing dramatic seems to happen.
Scripture mentioned
James 4:8
Hebrews 11:6
Jeremiah 29:13
John 16:13

Have you ever wondered why hearing God’s voice sometimes feels so clear—and other times feels frustrating or confusing?
In this episode of Believe & Become, we talk honestly about why hearing God can feel hard and how to remove the “static” that interferes with clarity. As we step into a new year, this conversation will help you slow down, find peace, and partner with God for intentional direction instead of pressure-driven planning.
We’re joined by our friend Janet Hunter, a prophetic voice, beliefs trainer, and Christian leader from Australia, who shares powerful stories and practical insight into how God speaks—and the many different “channels” He uses to communicate with us.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
Why believing “God doesn’t speak to me” is a lie—and how to recognize the ways He already is
How emotional pain, unmet needs, and limiting beliefs create static when hearing God
The different ways God speaks (knowing, thoughts, environment, songs, imagination, peace, and more)
Why surrendering your mind to God changes everything
How community helps us hear God more clearly and avoid costly mistakes
What it looks like to prophesy over your year with vision, intention, and faith
How beliefs, declarations, and imagination help you partner with what God is saying
Why God’s voice always leads toward peace, hope, and life—not fear or confusion
Janet also shares a powerful testimony of how a single encounter with God rewrote long-held lies about her identity and calling—and how you can experience the same kind of breakthrough.
If you’re entering a new season and longing for clarity, direction, and confidence in God’s voice, this episode will encourage you to lean in, remove the noise, and trust that you are designed to hear Him.

Replacing lies with truth
Visualization & imagination with the Holy Spirit
Habit stacking & micro-habits
Tracking progress without perfection
Celebration as a catalyst for change

So many believers love God deeply… yet struggle to confidently believe what He says about who they are. Why? Because identity is the battlefield the enemy targets most.
In this episode, we break down how to discern God’s voice in the area of identity—and why it often feels harder to hear Him about yourself than about anything else. You’ll learn how to identify lies you’ve been believing (many rooted in childhood), how to break agreement with them, and how to renew your mind with truth until it becomes your automatic way of thinking.
This is one of the most important conversations we’ve ever had. If you want breakthrough in who you are and who you’re becoming, you’re in the right place.
What We Cover
• Why identity is one of the enemy’s primary battlegrounds • How distorted beliefs about God distort how you see yourself • Why long-held lies feel “true” (and how to dismantle them) • A simple 3-step process to renew your mind: 1. Identify lies 2. Break agreement 3. Replace with God’s truth • How to hear God’s voice about who you really are • Why declarations work and how they rewire your mind
Scriptures Mentioned
Romans 12:2 – “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
John 16:13 – The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth.
2 Corinthians 5:17 – You are a new creation in Christ.
Matthew 14:22–33 – Peter walking on water (identity, trust, focus).
Key Quotes
“You can’t consistently live out what you don’t truly believe about yourself.”
“Your agreement empowers either the accuser or the Father.”
“You are not a sinner trying to be holy—you are a new creation learning to believe the truth.”
“Renewing your mind isn’t behavior modification. It is identity transformation.”
“When you silence the lie, you finally hear the truth that’s been there the whole time.”
Practical Steps From This Episode
1. Identify Lies
Notice areas with low hope, constant struggle, or ongoing frustration. Ask the Lord: “What lie am I believing here?”
2. Break Agreement
Say it out loud: “I break agreement with the lie that ____. I nail it to the cross. I refuse to believe it any longer.”
3. Receive Truth From God
Ask Him: “Jesus, what is the truth? Who do You say I am in this area?” Let Him speak, show you pictures, remind you of Scripture, or stir memories.
4. Create Declarations
Turn God's truth into a daily declaration and say it morning, midday, and night. This rewires your mind and closes the door to old mental patterns.

We cover:
Why you were designed for deep, family-level connection
How your breakthrough may be hidden in someone else’s obedience and encouragement
Practical ways to create rhythms of connection (even when life is busy and you tend to hide)
Scriptures Mentioned
Genesis 2:18 – “It is not good for the man to be alone.”
Hebrews 10:25 – “Let us not give up meeting together… but encouraging one another…”
Quotes
“Sometimes your breakthrough can only be found in community through someone else.”
“As adults, friendships don’t just happen—you have to build systems and rhythms for connection.”
“If they’re supposed to like me, they won’t be able not to like me.”
“You are the thermostat, not the thermometer—you bring Jesus into every room you enter.”
Simple Habits to Build Community
Weekly rhythm: Make Sunday gatherings a non-negotiable space to show up and engage, not just slip in and out.
Midweek touchpoint: Join (or start) a small group, Bible study, or midweek gathering. Consistency with the same faces builds family.
Serve somewhere: Volunteering creates a shared mission and easy conversation.
Start something fun: Book club, hiking group, pickleball, neighborhood clean-up—especially helpful if you’re already in church leadership.
Intentional check-ins: Text or voice memo friends when God brings them to mind. Little touchpoints keep connection alive.
