We're back baby! Happy #draftszn to all who participate. With the college football season firmly in the rearview mirror its time to take everything we learned along the way and let it guide us into our NFL Draft evaluations. I'm starting off today's show by setting the stage: some thoughts on the class as a whole, a reminder about the NFL Scouting Combine, and then my thoughts and rankings for this overall underwhelming class of QB prospects.
Ladies and gentleman ... your national champion Indiana Hoosiers! Taped some quick reactions from what I saw Monday night, including: the best story in the sport's history, Fernando Mendoza's long-awaited Heisman moment, Miami's hell of an effort, and how this will affect the future of college football. Hope you all enjoyed the game, thanks for following along this college football season, and we'll be back Thursday with plenty to discuss!
Victory Monday for all the Hurricane and Hoosier fans out there! I'm back with some thoughts on everything we saw in the Fiesta and Peach Bowls, the dumb Dan Lanning takes being thrown around in the days since, the shift in power between the Big Ten and the SEC, Texas' big weekend in the portal and the difference between committing and signing with a team.
Absolutely stuffed show for y'all today. Not only day we have four CFP quarterfinal games to break down and react to, but we're also a few days into the transfer portal being open and a bajillion moves being made. So let's talk Trinidad Chambliss' heroics versus the Georgia defense, why Miami should have always been considered a tough out against Ohio State, Indiana's quick and cost effective work in the transfer portal, Texas Tech's raised ceiling with Brendan Sorsby, and plenty plenty more.
We're baaaaaaaack! Massive show coming off our Christmas break, starting things off with my thoughts on Michigan hiring Kyle Whittingham and the immediate success I see in their future. After that, it's on to the games. Four huge playoff game previews and picks for Miami/Ohio State, Oregon/Texas Tech, Alabama/Indiana and Ole Miss/Georgia. Enjoy the show, enjoy the games, and we'll be back to break them all down in a few days.
Short Monday show sharing my thoughts on the Sherrone Moore scandal and Michigan's search for a new head coach, plus plenty of transfer portal topics: why I think teams are headed for a Texas Tech disaster, why Indiana is the top destination for transfer QBs and best fits for DJ Lagway, Dylan Raiola, Brendan Sorsby and Sam Leavitt.
The college football regular season has come to an end but the SpringBlake College Football show is far from over. On today's show we will do the impossible and solve the College Football Playoffs to ensure we have the most fair and enjoyable postseason possible. We'll also take a look back on our preseason predictions and see how we did, as well as fill out the SpringBlake 2025-26 College Football Playoff bracket.
Another college football regular season is in the books and we're here to talk it all: Indiana's magnificent run to a Big Ten title, Kirby Smart's revenge in Georgia's smackdown on Alabama, why the College Football Playoff field is the right group of contestants and the long and windy road that led Penn State to a great head-coaching hire.
We have got a loaded show to send us into conference championship weekend and I couldn't be more fired up to be hear. So let's dish out some thoughts on the latest College Football Playoff rankings and why I think Notre Dame is in massive trouble, why Penn State is in even more trouble, some other notes from the coaching carousel and, of course, previews for all four major conference championships. Let's have a great week!
What a 72-hour run in the sport of college football, and I'm here to break it all down. Talking Lane Kiffin's jump to LSU and the unavoidable mess it became, the strong hires by Auburn and Florida and the questionable moves by Kentucky and Arkansas. I've also got thoughts on Texas A&M's loss at Texas, Alabama's win in the Iron Bowl, Ohio State breaking the curse at Michigan and what to do with all the College Football Playoff hopefuls.
We've got a road game for our rivalry week preview show as I spend a few days with my family in New York for Thanksgiving. But despite a different setup and not a whole lot of time to prep we've still got plenty to discuss and break down, including: The College Football Playoff Committee needing to understand its role better, Ohio State's year-long mission that's led them back to Ann Arbor, Alabama's need to get things clicking on offense & how Texas can end its disappointing season on a high note.
Don't let this weekend's underwhelming slate slow you down — we are gearing up for an amazing stretch of college football. On today's show we're talking everything from Oregon's impressive victory over USC, to the clusterf*ck that Florida State has found itself in with Mike Norvell, to the final week of Lane Kiffin Watch and so much more.
We've got a jumbled mess of a show for you all today, recorded over the span of two days and featuring two separate cutoffs. But amidst the chaos its still just college football — sharing my thoughts on the latest College Football Playoff rankings and James Franklin's jump to Virginia Tech, plus a breakdown of USC's road trip up to Oregon.
We are back with another terrific college football recap show, covering all the main action we saw this past weekend. I'm talking Georgia and Oklahoma peaking at the right moments and getting massive Week 12 wins, Alabama and its sputtering offense causing the team's demise, and Texas still stuck in an identity crisis. I've also got thoughts on Texas A&M's come-from-behind victory, the latest news on the coaching carousel, and the upcoming College Football Playoff committee rankings.
Back from a mini flu-induced break and still marching through it, SpringBlake is back and touching on the latest CFP rankings before previewing the biggest college football games of the weekend.
We got a big, fat Thursday show for the ball-knowers today covering the College Football Playoff Rankings and previewing/predicting the biggest games of the weekend. Did the playoff committee nail their initial list? Will LSU's pride show up against Alabama? Are we sure Iowa is that much improved on offense? And will I fade BYU for the 100th time in a row? All that, plus the Week 11 Sweet 16 Poll and best bets of the week.
Make it a month straight of Sunday firings, with us starting today's show discussing Auburn's decision to let Hugh Freeze go after 2.5 seasons. We break down the decision, what went wrong and potential candidates before recapping everything that happened on the field in Week 10: Oklahoma and Texas' playoff-saving wins, Miami's collapse at SMU and the playoff hunts for all four power conferences.
Week 10 preview time! Breaking down Oklahoma's tough road trip to Knoxville in a loser-leaves-town battle, and Texas' potential last stand against a visiting Vanderbilt program. All that, plus the latest SpringBlake Sweet 16 Poll and best bets of the weekend.
For the third week in a row we begin our show with another firing — this time Brian Kelly at LSU. We discuss the decision, what went wrong and who should be on the list of potential replacements. After that we break down all the action we saw in Week 9, including: Texas A&M’s second-half surge over LSU, Alabama’s come-from-behind victory in Columbia, Ole Miss’ big day in Norman and Vanderbilt’s victory over Missouri.
Quick little Fri-yay pod breaking down the two biggest matchups of the weekend, rolling out my top 16 power-rated teams in the country, and handing out my five best bets of the week as we make up for what was an unfortunate Week 8.
