I take on the St Edmund’s path with my buddy Julian. 80 miles trail running self supported. What an adventure of a day, I got out of it everything I wanted and needed. Not so much more fitness but the fuelling, kit and time on feet.
With the Tarpley 20 road race completed successfully focus is now on the St Edmunds Way self supported trail ultra. Julian and I start our second attempt next week and hope for completion this time.

When beginning your running journey there’s so many things to listen to and take into account. I wish I knew more at the start to speed up the process but I was a different mindset back then. There’s no hiding the fact that it’s very hard when you start so maybe the main thing to focus on is just getting it done. How ever bad or hard it is show up every time. Build your endurance and fitness foundation. The rest can be added on in time.
It’s good to stop and be accountable once a week. Make sure the ship is still going in the right direction. Have you gone stagnant or is there more you can do. Go all in on your passion and follow where it leads you. Running changed my life and still is week on week.
“If you don’t stop and look around once in a while you could miss it”. Run while you can, experience as much as you are passionate about. Try things, you never know, that might be your thing. We are here to do more than the mundane chores. Necessary chores but fit living in somewhere. My thing is running so I’m going all in and run!

Convert the new years motivation to start or re-start running in a plan for the year. Move through quitters day and form a healthy habit of running and strength training. Focus on longevity m, we want to run into our 90’s. Nutrition is a big a part of it as any.
A reflection on 2025’s running and what to take into 2026. It shouldn’t be “New year new you” more “New year, be you”. Let yourself through and stop protecting yourself. We can do more than the limits we set ourselves. Start running and begin.
A big thank you for listening, I’m looking forward to next year and seeing how it will help me grow and how it will evolve. Merry Christmas 🎄
Following some well appreciated feedback I start breaking down the running form. If you can start your running journey with good form, you will see the benefits much quicker and reduce risk of injury along the way.

Building a solid base fitness is easier than you think. Running in heart rate zone 2 for most of your weekly training will build endurance and your aerobic base. It’s also known as the fat burning zone. This makes it more inviting to start. To slow and easy.
As with life, running has its setbacks. But it also builds you a community of inspiring people. They don’t just want you to PB they will you back from setbacks. We are all in this together and we are certainly getting there.
