As Solomon duelled the Incubus, the wraithbone Warp gate opened a portal to Commorragh, and the Archon grew impatient, popping the heads of Governor Darius and the Astropath. Damien summoned his psychic abilities and finished off the Incubus, but the powers in the Warp overwhelmed him and he became possessed by the Deamon Kestrel. Morgan decided to leave the governor to his fate in favour of saving Damien, and she and the rest of the agents spoke holy words of encouragement until Damien finally forced Kestrel out once more. The band fought and destroyed the massive Spyrer Amberlin. Morgan used the password Hydra Dominatus to access the throne room where two Drukhari bearing symbols of the Kabal of the Bladed Cage held Darius and his Astropath hostage. As they reached an impasse with words, the Archon suggested a duel between the Incubus and Solomon. As the two fought, Morgan called Romeo in to stealthily observe the rest of the room. As the agents attempted to drive through the main gate of the governor’s estate, their rank spike was flagged, alarms sounded, and the guard attacked. Amberlin had obviously been forewarned. Their driver drove through wildly anyway in their armoured vehicle, and when they were finally stopped by an unyielding door, Morgan used her rosette to open it and they entered the ground floor of the mansion. They stimmed themselves up for as much advantage as possible and fought their way to the upper floors, heading first towards Darius, the young governor. Having saved a few hundred Imperial citizens, the agents patched themselves up and reported back the Beatrice Hawkstar, who introduced them another member of the family, Usinger. When Morgan relayed the information about Drukhari involvement, Usinger realized that Amberlin was consorting with xenos. They decided they would put Usinger’s forces on the xenos problem, Beatrice’s forces would provide a distraction, and the agents would enter the governor’s mansion with a small team to covertly extract the young governor, Darius. Amidst the burning xenos ship, the agents faced off against a Drukhari ambush: a powerful Sybarite alongside Kabalite warriors. Rex 2 took a lot of damage and the Judge went down, but Damien healed him and was surprised to be bestowed with additional protection from the warp. When the skirmish ended, Judge Rex took a Drukhari head as a trophy, Solomon became concerned about this strange behaviour, and Damien made Morgan explain how she knew Drukhari words: she had studied them and their language after her last encounter with them. Knowing there were more Drukhari ships in the burrows, they decided to take the xenos raider for themselves. Deep in the burrows, the Inquisitorial agents heard the screams of people facing off with Drukhari in the darkness of the tunnels. Solomon and the Judge hid amongst the burning shacks and prepared an ambush. Humans emerged and staggered towards them wearing explosive collars, forced to curse the Emperor, follow by a large, floating pirate-like ship bearing twelve Kabalite warriors. Damien hurled a flaming sphere onto the ship, hitting several enemies and setting the sails ablaze, and Morgan took careful aim and took out the heavy gunner. Solomon cleaved another warrior in two, and the Judge used his shock maul to smash the warrior bearing down on Solomon, then set Rex 2 to finish it off. In the dark distance, the agents could hear Drukhari attacking Imperial citizens. Damien gave his data slate to one of the burrow citizens so they could follow the map and lead others through the weakened void shield. As they moved towards the combat zone, Solomon noticed two Drukhari Hellions waiting in ambush. Damien threw warp fire at them, the Judge electrified one with his shock maul and ordered Blood Ball to join the attack, and Morgan yelled at the xenos in their own language, commanding them to go back to the warp. Out of the darkness, a Jetbike bearing a terrifying rider with its sword out, raced past Solomon and just barely missed him. Damien realized that the chorus of screams they had heard was actually from the Jetbikes, he recalled that a dark sect of the Aeldari used those types of fear tactics, and the agents found themselves facing off against three Drukhari. The team’s training paid off and, though they were injured, they managed to fight off their immediate threat. But as the Drukhari peeled away, they could hear human screams in the distance, and it became clear that this initial skirmish was merely the Drukhari’s advance guard. The agents entered the burrows to find a city beneath a city with an entire society functioning with good people and a sense of community, even though they were clearly suffering. Morgan discovered a vent system and entered it to access the void shield generators that were being used to block off areas that had been purged and prevent escape in the upcoming purge. At the shield generator, Damien recalled a phrase that had been used by the Flayed Man regarding Talos Ivo, and suggested it might be the password to the generator. The fact that it worked suggested that Talos Ivo and the events on Arcturus IV were connected to the situation in the Hawkstar system. They lowered the shield power just enough to pass through with some difficulty without setting off alerts that the shield had been altered, and made their way back to the main thoroughfare. They ordered everyone to evacuate, but as everyone started running, a massive booming wave rushed towards them, taking out the lights in the tunnels. Morgan took and chance and told Beatrice Hawkstar that their benefactor wanted them to help the pirates resume their operation, at which point Beatrice revealed herself to be the secret leader of the pirate group, The Redistributors. She herself had triggered the emergency beacon when she became concerned about the excessiveness of the purges. After Solomon let slip the Judge’s name, Beatrice realized they were Inquisition. She provided them with a map to navigate the burrows, as well as the deceased Judge’s data slate for Rex to review. They learned that the late Judge had allowed the pirates to operate since they provided vital services to the general population, preventing potential uprising against a government that left its people to fend for themselves. The agents made their way into the governor’s estate with the help of their Administratum guide. With the governor unavailable, their goal became to convince any member of the Hawkstar Family that they would be useful allies. Morgan researched the important members of the family and determined that the recent assassinations were much more likely carried out by those within the family, rather than the pirates. Their Administratum guide revealed that the materials mined within the system are ceramite and auramite, which are crucial for the production of armour for the Adeptus Astartes and the Adeptus Custodes. A member of the Administratum greeted the agents-in-disguise, and informed them that some heretics were causing a problem, but the purges would sort it out quickly. He assured them that there was no need for them to stay, but Morgan insisted they the investigate the situation at the governor’s estate. Their Administratum guide was enamoured with Damien, and the psyker used that to learn that apparently the pirates had killed the planet’s judge and possibly even the governor, but the purges would root them out. The Gellar field, now improved by Talos Ivo, held fast through the warp and let the agents sleep more soundly until the ship abruptly changed course to respond to an emergency beacon on the planet Ravenshrike in the Hawkstar system. They learned from Avarice that the system is an important source of mined materials and sees frequent pirate activities, which have recently decreased. Their mission is to resolve the cause of the emergency beacon and to assist the pirates in resuming their activities. As the days passed with no new missions, the Inquisitorial band added their personal touches to the chapel and created new daily rituals. Solomon’s health improved and he became accustomed to his new legs, Damien created new purity seals and taught the group how to fight alongside a psyker, Judge Rex led them all through Arbites meditations, and Morgan surprised the crew with random tasks at random hours to simulate the unexpected situations they were likely to face. Morgan informed Talos Ivo that he was now part of their crew and would be responsible for improving their Gellar field. While the other ignored Talos, Morgan found herself at times listening to his ramblings and Solomon began to see him as a kindred spirit. For four days, CL053T worked on Solomon, to save his life, as Solomon was stuck in a bizarre dream state. When he awoke, his body was covered in scars, his right eye had been replaced with an augmetic, his legs were clearly not his own and had been gen-hanced. Talos Ivo was recovering too, but of course without his legs. As Solomon recovered, Morgan spoke with Valentyne through her servitorized astropath.
