In the final primer episode, Chris Case and Sarah Pascual unpack why paying attention to genre is essential for reading Scripture well. They explore how biblical writings include historical narrative, poetry, wisdom literature, prophecy, and letters—and why each must be read on its own terms. Along the way, they highlight differences between Western and Eastern ways of thinking, how numbers and imagery carry symbolic meaning, and why the Bible’s communal, story-shaped worldview often challenges our individualism. Chris and Sarah also address dangers like overly literal readings and proof-texting, showing how these can distort the Bible’s intent. This conversation equips you with practical tools to approach different genres with humility, curiosity, and a Christ-centered lens—so that the Bible comes alive in color, not just in black and white.
