Starring Gene Kelly, Leslie Caron, Oscar Levant, Georges Guetary and Nina Foch. This film marks review # 10 of the AFI list of Greatest Movie Musicals of all time. “Wow, I was shocked how great Georges Guetary sounded! Thank you Mister Minnelli for checking off our big musical number in this movie!” “They really needed to develop the Adam character more. I know it was different in the Stage musical, which is great – but yes, they didn’t flesh him out enough in this film” (our Husky agreed) “It was a 17-minute ballet sequence, with sets and costumes referencing French painters including Raoul Dufy, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Maurice Utrillo, Henri Rousseau, and Toulouse-Lautrec and it cost the studio approximately $450,000 !. Like what a finale! ”
