James Mane has always been a class clown. “I've always had that inner monologue that had some kind of wise crack to something the teacher said, whether I would say it to the side, to my friends, or sometimes it came out out loud, and the teacher would always send me outside,” he explained on Upfront with Guy Hagi. The Aiea High School graduate started his journey in comedy through self-deprecating humor. “I get always get that thing where like, ‘Oh are you from the housing or are you a bouncer? You’re Samoan, you must eat a lot.’ I get a lot of those things, so I talk about it.” He’s since transitioned into observational humor and storytelling “which is my favorite,” he said. “I like to people watch, you know, why is this person doing this? And then I come up with my own assumptions.” Follow James Mane on Instagram @comedianjamesmane.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
