John the Baptist, imprisoned and confused, sends Jesus a haunting question: Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another? Jesus responds not with rebuke but with grace, pointing to his words and works—the healing of the broken and the preaching of good news—as the true signs of God’s kingdom. In our own seasons of doubt and confinement, this same good news meets us with hope, reminding us that Christ is present, faithful, and still on his throne.
