A few decades ago, analytics began changing baseball. It quickly found it's way into other sports: the three point revolution in basketball, going for it on 4th down in football (just to name a few). But recently...there has been a plateau. All three analytics folks that I spoke with said Biomechanics and video capture would be that next frontier. Kyle Boddy of Driveline Baseball sat down with me to discuss biomechanics, and what the future of talent development in sports looks like. Kyle is perhaps the most influential person in baseball over the past 20 years, largely responsible for the increase in pitching velocity through a variable training approach. Currently, besides running Driveline, Kyle consults for the Boston Red Sox.

"I believe organizations fail young quarterbacks before young quarterbacks fail organizations" - Kevin O'Connell, head coach of the Minnesota Vikings.
In this episode, I sat down with The Athletic's Zak Keefer. Zak wrote "The Bust Files - How NFL Teams Break Young Quarterbacks" where he interviewed several different former quarterbacks, current quarterbacks, and head coaches.
Why is it that certain young quarterbacks fail, while others succeed? How important is a quarterbacks environment?

How do we untangle a quarterback from his surroundings? At what point is a quarterback overrated?
I sat down with Kevin Cole, former Senior Data Scientist with PFF and creator of "Unexpected Points" - a unique, analytical Substack that I absolutely love. Kevin's work can be found in several of my NFL Draft videos - he's worth a follow on Twitter too.

Week one was wild...one concept I have always been fascinated by, in both life and football...risk. You can not avoid it, though we talk about certain decisions as if there is an absence of risk.In this episode, I sat down with Sam Bruchhaus to discuss the roll of risk in football, and why certain plays like "play action" might be neglected. We also recapped the week, and dove deep into the advanced numbers on quarterback play.
