We’re a Christ-centered ministry that helps families struggling with challenges that are dividing them. Whether you realize it or not, you and your family are targets in a spiritual and cultural battle.

We’re here to equip you for that battle, strengthen your walk with the Lord, and to bring you scriptural truth, encouragement, healing and hope.

We address issues like faith, marriage, divorce and how to protect your children. We help you identify spiritual and cultural threats and share biblical principles to overcome them.

Would you like to gain valuable insight into yourself and those around you? Learn how to be a better person, spouse or parent? Are you willing to honestly assess your faith and then make changes to grow deeper in your relationship with God?

If you’re serious about your faith this is the place to be.

My name is Rick Nischalke. My wife Barbara and I are co-founders of this ministry.

You can find out more about us at Keepingfamiliesconnected.com.

If you’re a deeply committed Christian, you’ll love this podcast. If you’re not, prepare to discover a life filled with peace, strength and purpose. And to gain a life-changing understanding of God’s deep and unconditional love for you.

As Christians, we’re called to reach others with Christ’s message of love and forgiveness. This world is getting darker and more dangerous every day. Just as He told us in His word that it would be. The battle is real. Time is short. Let’s make every moment count.

What this world needs most is revival. A turning back to God. And that revival starts with you and me. There’s no political or legal solution to a spiritual problem. We believe that God has begun a powerful move of His Holy Spirit in and through His people.

Regardless of where you’re at in your Christian Walk, our journey together will be amazing! Prepare to go deep. And don’t worry about falling asleep while you’re listening. Our podcasts might be controversial or challenging but never boring. 😊

So, subscribe to this podcast and let’s begin this journey together until our Lord and Savior returns or takes us home!

Today’s podcast deals with a topic that highlights a great divide in families across America and around the world. The assassination of Charlie Kirk. But today’s episode is about so much more than that. What happened to him is simply a symptom and casualty of a much bigger war and agenda. One that affects you, your family and this nation.
Today’s podcast topic deals with the most important question you will ever ask yourself.  What Would Jesus Say About Your Relationship with Him?That’s an interesting question, isn’t it?And in the end, it’s the only question that really matters. Not only does having a relationship with Him impact and enhance our life here and now, but according to God’s word, having a personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ is the difference between heaven and hell. For eternity…I think you’d agree that the stakes are high, and this is one area that we can’t afford to fool or deceive ourselves. But how do you know that your relationship with Him is real enough to ensure your salvation? Do you ever wonder if you’re “really” saved? And if you are, do you make it a priority to grow deeper in your faith and walk with Him on a daily basis? Let’s explore this important topic together to assess where you are today and to determine where you want to be in your relationship with Him moving forward. You can find out more about us at Keeping Families Connected.
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself “What in the world is going on?” How did things get so crazy and out of control? Are you struggling in your marriage? Are you going through a difficult divorce? Are you losing the close relationship that you once had with your child because they’ve been alienated from you by friends, family, politics, the educational system or culture? Are issues like abortion, gender identification, sexuality, illegal immigration, and other political and social ideology coming between you and your child? Is the God that created the family able and willing to bring healing to fractured and damaged relationships? The answer is a resounding yes! God’s revealed all that we need to know about ourselves, our families and relationships in His word. But it’s up to us to know what His word says, and then to live the way scripture tells us that He would have us live.God’s given us detailed instructions in the bible about how to be in a right relationship with Him, and principles and commandments about how to live. Not living according to His word has consequences, as an individual, a culture and a nation. So why is life so hard?Because we live in a fallen, sinful world and whether you realize it or not, we are in a raging spiritual and cultural battle. And the target of the attack is you and your family. Not a very comforting thought, is it? But true, nonetheless.Join us to discover biblical wisdom, hope and healing for the challenges of life.

Today’s episode is part 3 of a 3-part series on The Top 3 Reasons for Divorce. We suggest listening to parts 1 and 2 first if you haven’t already. Today we’ll discuss the 3rd most highly reported reason for divorce. Conflict and arguing. In review, the top 3 reported reasons for divorce are: Lack of CommitmentInfidelity/AffairConflict and arguingFinancial problems, substance abuse and domestic violence are on the list, but none of them come close in reported frequency to the top three. Today we’ll cover the most common landmines that can turn disagreements and different perspectives into destructive communication patterns that can destroy a marriage. We’ll provide powerful tools to help you establish a framework of communication techniques and perspectives that will prevent an escalation to intense conflict and arguing. To be clear, when two people enter a marriage, there will always be a difference in their thought process and perspectives. And although this can be challenging at times, (there’s an understatement) it usually results in a better decision-making process when both perspectives are valued and taken into consideration. The key to success here isn’t never disagreeing about something. It’s to work through those disagreements in a way that doesn’t attack, demean and destroy your spouse. Most of us look forward to the Holidays. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year are the most widely celebrated, and they’re all relatively close together. That’s why this time of year is generally referred to as the Holiday Season. We get to spend time with family and friends. Express our Thanks to God for all His blessings, especially the birth of His son Jesus Christ. We exchange gifts and if we’re lucky we might even get a couple of days off work! 😊 But there’s a sizable group of people that aren’t looking forward to this time of year. It isn’t that they aren’t grateful for their blessings or that they are Charles Dicken’s Ebenezer Scrooge. They’re simply experiencing conflicting thoughts and emotions that cast a shadow over and diminish the joy of the season. In extreme cases these depressing thoughts and feelings can lead to someone taking their own life. Join us to learn how to manage grief and depression as you navigate through the holiday season. Today’s podcast is our first Season 2 episode! Our topic is “What Setting (or not setting) New Year's Resolutions Says About You“.Did you set any New Year’s resolutions this year? If so, how are you doing sticking to them?If you chose not to set any, why didn’t you? I think that most of us would agree that we want to become a better person and achieve greater things in life. And that most likely those aspirations will require us to change in some way to achieve them. They won’t just magically happen. These goals require making a decision, developing a plan and following that plan until you achieve your desired outcome. And there’s nothing special about a date on the calendar that gives us permission or even the motivation to make these needed changes. The New Year is simply a reminder that we may want to reflect on our life, goals, thinking and habits. And to assess whether these things will help us to become the person that we’d most like to be. You can start your journey to becoming the best version of yourself whenever you choose. The only thing that’s required is to decide what type of person you want to become and what you want to achieve. Once you’ve made those decisions, you need to develop a plan and then follow it. Discover how to turn your hope of positive change into a tangible goal that you can achieve! You can find out more about us at Keepingfamiliesconnected.com.
Learning These 5 Love Languages Will Change Your Marriage Forever! Most people are unaware that specific love languages exist, let alone what those are, or how to use them to convey love to someone you care about. In fact, you may not even know what your own love language is, or why that matters. Today we’ll discuss one of my favorite books about love and relationships. The concepts apply primarily to marriage relationships but are highly effective with children, and other relationships as well. The book is written by Dr. Gary Chapman called The Five Love Languages. This book was written in the 1990s, but the concepts are more relevant and important today than ever before. Chapman’s main idea is that everyone has a primary way of expressing and receiving love, and if those close to us “speak” a different love language, that’s when pain and misunderstandings can arise. The five love languages are Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Receiving Gifts, Quality Time, and Physical Touch. Each of these represent a distinct way that people express and receive love and connect emotionally. Understanding which of these languages resonates most with you, and with those around you, can improve every important relationship that you have.So grab a cup of coffee and let’s get started! You can find out more about us at keepingfamiliesconnected.com. People Are Looking for Answers - The Top Search Trends of 2025Everyone has questions. Sometimes we share them with others and other times we ask them in private through online searches. Those searches reveal far more than public questions do.Once you get past the entertainment type of searches, the year's most persistent search themes reveal a society wrestling with authority, truth, identity, and God.The top search trends of 2025 don’t just indicate individual curiosity; their questions are about a culture they no longer understand or trust. They expose what people fear, what they no longer trust, and what they’re desperately trying to understand in a world that is becoming increasingly unstable. They’re looking for truth and safety in a world that becomes more divided, hateful and dangerous every day. They are being told that there is no absolute truth. And the only way to stay safe is to join the most vocal, violent and unstable crowd or be subject to their wrath. In many ways, the modern internet search bar has replaced the position of trust and authority that parents, siblings and mentors once held. One of the most revealing patterns in 2025 search behavior was the surge in identity-focused and truth-oriented questions. Searches such as What is truth? What defines a woman? Is gender biological? What is marriage for? And “Does truth change over time?” appeared repeatedly throughout the year. These aren’t superficial questions. They’re foundational civilization questions. The kind societies ask when accepted moral frameworks begin to erode and individuals are left to come up with their own interpretation of truth. Join us today as we address those foundational questions and concerns with biblical wisdom and answers. You can find out more about us at Keepingfamiliesconnected.com.
What Does it Mean to Fear the Lord?If you’re outside of the kingdom and family of God, you need to fear His judgement. God’s power and Holiness are nothing to disdain or disrespect. His word makes the eternal consequences of rejecting His offer of love and forgiveness through His son Jesus Christ very clear. Okay. So that addresses those that aren’t Christians, what about those that are? Are we told to fear God as well? Yes. But it’s a different kind of fear. The fear of God for a child of God, is no longer the fear of judgement and eternal separation from a loving and all-powerful God. It’s reverence and respect for His Holiness, an overwhelming sense of gratefulness for His unconditional love, and the deep desire not to hurt or disappoint Him. Our love and reverence for God should be more than enough to keep us from sin. But unfortunately, that’s not always the case. Join us as we take a deeper look into what it means to fear The Lord. Today’s podcast is titled: Be Honest - If Prayer is so Important, Why Don’t We Pray More? I think you’d agree, that’s a pretty honest question, isn’t it? Most of us don’t like to admit it but we probably don’t pray as much as we’d like to or at least as much as we think that we should. Have you ever stopped to think about why that is? What is prayer and why is it important? The most basic definition of prayer is “talking and spending time with God.” God loves this exchange with His children, just as we love the exchange we have with our children. Fellowship with God is the heart of prayer. Too often we lose sight of how simple prayer is supposed to be.Join us today to discover the greatest impediments to a great prayer life and how to overcome them.
